...☀If anything in this world I could buy with money, but the reality I experienced was that my wealth could not buy a destiny of love that was always not on my side.☀...

Note: Read Lion's name instead of laien, yes. But L-I-O-N. Lion
I've dashed my hopes of being able to get along with the woman I've been interested in since school age, Aneesha. Ever since she blatantly showed feelings towards the friend I had considered as my own sister, Tara.
Although in the end they did not get married and have found their own soul mate. I've been sincerely burying feelings that never intertwined that.
But the little girl who has transformed into a beautiful and graceful angel. The mirror of the righteous woman as I always spent being a wife, disturbs hearts and minds. His presence immediately pecked the feeling of love that was still buried. Growing the bud of love from the heart without planning.
The girl I've known since I was a kid because I was best friends with her brother. The girl who used to go with her brother everywhere he went. The little girl who was as a child was so spoiled and shy. Now the girl has grown up, in Muslim clothing that covers all her aura. Makes me interested in asking for it.
The road that I thought was smooth, turned out to be steep and filled with sharp gravel. I did not approach Jenar for long. I showed my interest by giving him more attention, often visiting him in Jogja every weekend. And help when he has trouble doing college assignments.
We shared a lot of stories, even though I actually told a lot of stories and Jenar just listened. She was shy and closed. I treated him like a little brother who needed attention and protection.
But it wasn't enough to make her fall in love with me. After my proposal was directly rejected by Om Fares, I soon saw photos on social media owned by Aneesha. The photo shows a proposal event, at that time I knew Jenar had received another man's proposal.
Getting angry? Sure. I should not have the right to be angry. But human nature, feeling envious if I can't get what I want. While others can easily get what I cannot get.
I live on papa's tea plantation in Wonosobo. Since the last two years, papa has handed over some of the assets to be in my name. Gave me the authority to manage the produce of the estate, as the only son of a Wisesa. That's why I can visit Jenar in Jogja every weekend.
That morning after I made sure the garden workers were conditioned, I prepared my flagship green jeep. Through the thick fog that enveloped Wonosobo city, ignoring the cold that penetrated into my bones. Go somewhere to get rid of my anger. Even though I knew it would be of no use, at least I wanted to hear from Jenar's own mouth. Talking to her four eyes, so that I would stop expecting love from her.
Wonosobo-Magelang trip I went through without rest, because I want to get to the destination soon. Towards noon I turned the wheel through the road that many sand trucks pass. Then turn to the alley road which is only passed by one car only.
Arriving at a place with a high fence and a gate made of teak wood. I drove the car at a slow speed, as I entered the gate that happened to be open. As usual, I parked the car in front of the pendopo which this time was quiet no activity whatsoever.
My gaze swept in all directions and stopped at a gazebo. I saw two women sitting there. I took off the sunglasses perched on my nose, and walked a long way toward the gazebo. The resentment I had been holding since yesterday, ready to spill.
“This is unfair, Jen!” I didn't even answer the greeting Aneesha said. Without further ado I spilled my frustration on Genar while throwing pan-tats on the seat.
“Not fair how did sister mean?” Jenar asked with a deep frown.
“Who is he? The man who proposed to you yesterday. Is he rich? Kyai's son like you've been yearning for? Hem?”
I saw Jenar and Aneesha looking at each other, but no one answered my question. I threw my back on the gazebo fence, straightening the legs that felt sore because of driving away.
“25 land certificates, 14 of which are already on my behalf. You can get the rest if you marry me, is that still lacking? So you'd rather accept another man's proposal than me? Hem?”
Not the answer from Jenar that I got but a blow to the head using the book that was being read by Aneesha. Complete with a high-pitched bluff from my best friend.
“Hei! You think my sister's eyes are duitan? Glare is the same wealth that your family has?”
While I stick with my stance that all women can be conquered with money, “of course. Which women are not matre?”
“This bratty child!” Aneesha is now punching my arm hard, until I complain, “only women who do not know how to meet their own needs and lifestyle will be tempted by the seduction of men like you. Women in the Adhitama family will not be tempted by money and wealth, because we have been independent since childhood. Have you forgotten who we are, Li?”
I sigh in disbelief. I had expected there would be no point in me coming here, for I knew Jenar and his entire family had a firm stand. Not easily swayed especially with the lure of treasure.
“Still it's not fair to me, Sha. I proposed to Jenar first. Your father should have accepted me first, not received another man's proposal for his daughter.”
“On father accept whose application to Jenar, it depends Jakari, dong. Who does Genar choose. Kan, he's the one who wants to marry, not dad.”
I clicked bitterly, giving Aneesha a dislike look for not letting Jenar speak. He was the one who answered my words. I know, Jenar doesn't like to argue. Not like Aneesha who talks too much. But he should have given Jenar a chance to talk to me, right?
“Why did you two sisters both reject me, anyway? What's my cage? My face is handsome, I am rich, also a scholar, what less try?”
My sadness increased because Aneesha was uprooted while Jenar lowered her head, probably holding back a laugh. These two women have indeed made me very angry, but strangely after meeting them my anger evaporated just like that, lost somewhere. I'm too weak to deal with these two women.
“You are perfect, Li. Lack of just one, you are just out of luck.”
I rubbed my arm that was patted by Aneesha while glancing at Jenar whose shoulder was shaken by holding back a laugh. Look at! That girl is so cute, isn't she? Which man doesn't want to be with her? Jenar ... You broke my heart with your refusal, now you break it again with the ring embedded in your ring finger.
“Dek! Make coffee there! Let this guy calm down.”
“All meals, yes, Jen!” I stopped Jenar who was about to leave, “I have not had breakfast.”
“Means come do not immediately get angry, Brother. So hungry, right?”
I rubbed my own nape, watching Jenar who stepped away leaving me and Aneesha. I didn't take a look until the girl disappeared behind the door.
“Have not been overlooked! The person's soul mate.” Said Aneesha who had drowned again reading a book.
Aneesha shook her head, “but you are not destined to be the daughter-in-law of the Adhitama family. Take it, Li. Maybe your soul mate is still in the arms of another man.”
“Damn you!”
Then our conversation turned more relaxed, like nothing had ever happened. We've been friends since childhood, maybe it's only meant so far. Not meant to be a brother, let alone a family.
I saw Aneesha's stomach slightly bulging, although still not visible, but I knew she was pregnant. His post on social media also seems to be happy because he is two-bodied.
“You're really pregnant, aren't you, Sha? How do you not look?”
“Ya times like soap operas, pregnant directly as big as a watermelon. Just entered four months, not yet visible.”
“Let's if your daughter is a girl, mate is with me, huh?” My candaku made Aneesha sneer.
“Ngot going! Yes, yes, Li. Don't maksa!”
“Canda, Sha. Canda!” After that, I realized that the state of Aneesha's house was quiet. The whole family should have gathered in the house, but all I saw was Aneesha and Jenar, nothing else.
“Where is everyone? How come it's just you two?”
“On go. Have their own needs, indeed you work barges enjoying the inheritance of parents.”
“Lho, that's a blessing, Sha. If not me who else is enjoying it?”
Aneesha rolled her eyes while clucking, I can make sure my best friend did not like my words. We used to rarely talk about treasure, Aneesha was too sensitive about it. So as much as we can, his friends avoid talking about things that spur debate.
Now that we are both adults our conversation has changed. We can talk about any topic, including business. Aneesha has never been interested in business, preferring the world around photography and painting.
Different from Jenar. The girl who still inhabits the corner of my heart is a girl who has liked to do business since childhood. Maybe because often join the bundle takes care of minimarket business owned by the family, so the soul of the trader grows in Jenar.
I know that girl learned to sell from school age. She was not shy about bringing cakes to school to be dropped off at the cafeteria. Jenar can make a variety of cakes, I know because I used to try cake tester made by Jenar. When I used to play at Aneesha's house, Jenar was a teenager.
Let's say you're in too much of a hurry to ask for it, but my love for Jenar is serious. I'm not a teenager anymore, it's not time to play with people's children. Although my proposal was rejected, I did not necessarily hate this family. Because in my heart I still hope to have the heart of Jenar, I don't know when the time is.
“Sister Lion wants to eat here or inside?”
That soft voice drew my consciousness from the daydream. I noticed Jenar had just placed a hot cup of coffee with a plate of cake on the table. My heart that was about to flower suddenly withered because I knew what kind of cake Jenar had served me.
“Must give me the leftover cake yesterday, yes, Jen? You scratched the wound on the wound on me, Jen.”
Aneesha laughed again, “ya Alloh, Li. So damn near you. Just eat, don't protest much.”
“Tega is indeed you two to me. May you both be happy forever with your respective spouses.” I picked up a piece of sponge cake, had said with great emphasis before devouring it, “aamikan! Do’a persecuted people are afflicted with Allah, you know.”
“Aamiin ..” Compact Aneesha and Jenar exclaimed. Adding my mood to the pain.
I realized it turns out that my wealth cannot buy into a love destiny that has always not been on my side. But I'm sure Alloh has prepared a soul mate for me, no matter when we meet. At the right time and with the right people. Now let me be the true love fighter first. Before I found the moorings of a sincere heart accepting me.
"Where are you guys going?" I asked when Aneesha and Jenar compact moved.
"Ready for lunch. He said you were hungry." Again it was not Jenar who answered, but Aneesha.
"Don't eat lunch as well as yesterday's cooking the rest of the application." Cibirku.
"If you don't want to, yes, just go home!" Expel Aneesha.
"Don't go home, first, brother. Later in the afternoon here there is an IPNU-IPPNU children's grooming event. How do you know someone has a crush on your sister." The joking of the Jenar can always make me smile.
"Berez! The most beautiful, yes, Jen."
Genar thinned his lips withstanding a smile, while Aneesha shook her head in a careless sign.
