The Mist In Arumi's Heart

The Mist In Arumi's Heart
The Untold Story

"Sorry? For what?" Edgar glanced back at the pretty face next to him.

"For all my faults" replied Arumi slowly. His voice sounded so lethargic and a little raucous.

Edgar was silent again. A long breath sounded from his lips. Then he lifted his head. For a moment the man with a charming smile seemed to close his eyes. Edgar looked very tired.

"Are you okay, Ed?" Ask Arumi. He looked closely at the man who was right next to him, until Edgar opened his eyes again and turned his head. He looked at Arumi softly.

A moment later, Edgar moved from his seat. He stood near the glass. His firm posture was very clear at the time, although he stood up slightly bent. His two hands were filled with fine feathers with protruding veins, increasingly indicating that Edgar was actually a firm man.

"I feel happy because it's not raining tonight" Edgar said without looking at Arumi. While the girl was still looking at him. "Come, Arum! You're gonna love this, for sure" Edgar asked. Then he looked at the girl.

Arumi moved from her seat. He now stood next to Edgar, and accompanied him to the view of the city at night.

"Don't you miss France, Arum?" Edgar asked, glancing at Arumi.

The girl smiled a little. "My parents' grave is there. I will definitely visit France" replied Arumi slowly.

"Keanu said you haven't been there in a long time" Edgar said.

"Ah .. I'm upset with my sister!" Reply Arumi. He folded his hands on his chest and put his face on it.

"You're being punished?" Edgar asked, with a smile. There was a sense of amused as well as satisfied in his beautiful facial expression. Arumi did not answer. He looks very upset.

"You deserve to be punished, Arum" Edgar said. His words made Arumi grow even more sullen.

"You and my brother are the same!" Arumi was getting annoyed. He chose to sit back. Edgar laughed softly. That guy is very friendly.

Edgar followed Arumi sitting back. He then turned to the girl who had still shown her sulking face. "I don't think Keanu will be angry with you for too long" Edgar said, straightening the left hand he put on the couch.

"She took my car keys, and she'll probably be freezing all my financial access soon. Just incredible! Though I only drink a little," complained Arumi regretfully.

Edgar laughed again slowly, shaking his head slowly. "You should be self-conscious, Arum! You are not strong to drink. You will always lose control every time you do that. But you are so naughty!"

Arumi did not answer. It's not that she's not aware of it, but Arumi sometimes needs space to feel a sense of freedom.

Edgar was silent. I don't know what he was thinking at the time. Arumi is now reminded of the painting of the man she saw in the living room.

"You never told me about your father," Arumi again broke the silence between the two of them. Edgar immediately corrected his sitting position when he heard Arumi mention his father.

"I haven't been able to tell you yet" said Edgar. He seemed a little uncomfortable because of it. While Arumi chose not to continue it, because maybe it was considered as something too privacy for Edgar. The girl also chose to be quiet. However, when Arumi chose to be quiet, then another case with Edgar. He just started telling stories.

Arumi stared fixedly at that beautiful face. On one side he saw a small arch in Edgar's lips. However, on the other hand he also saw a soft hue on his pair of deep eyes. "Then ... What makes your story interesting, Ed? Living in luxury since childhood .. I think .. it must be very boring," said Arumi.

Edgar turned and smiled wryly. "You're right, Arum. Everything was very boring, at least .. until I was ten years old" Edgar said in a speech that sounded very strange.

"What happened back then?" Ask Arumi again. He was curious. It seems that he is also getting interested in getting to know Edgar.

Edgar stared fixedly at Arumi. His eyes look very strange. Arumi felt something that he himself did not understand. The girl tried to guess, but Edgar didn't seem to want to let the girl overwork.

"My mother died, Arum," said Edgar with a calm expression, but kept a lot of unrest in it.

Arumi remained silent. His face suddenly changed. He remembered Ryanthi. Her heart was so broken when Ryanthi left for good, when she was already an adult. What happens to a ten-year-old when she loses the mother she loves so much?

Arumi knew that. He understood that Edgar loved his mother very much. Arumi had seen a collection of photos that showed the closeness of Edgar with his mother. But Edgar never told him anything. The relationship that they lived for almost two years, only limited to the relationship on the surface. They don't want to open up to each other.

"What happened after that, Ed?" Ask Arumi. He became more curious.

"Not long after my mother died, my father remarried. He is young, handsome, and rich. My father was seduced by a beautiful woman with a beautiful body and .. of course blonde," Edgar said with a faint smile at the corner of his lips.

"Then?"

"Then? I hope you don't think she's been a good wife and mother, especially after my father suffered a fatal accident. He's completely paralyzed, Arum. My father was like a living corpse. While the blonde woman .. she left my father after all her wealth ran out," Edgar said.

"You know what, Arum? I don't even know how to turn on the stove yet, while I have to take care of my father alone. We were poor, starving, and I used to be late for school. I even have to ...." Edgar paused his words. He took a deep breath to just give him some time, so he could calm himself down a bit.

"Everything feels very difficult and scary, Arum. Every day I live in anxiety. Every time I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is make sure my dad is still breathing normally. I wasn't ready to lose everything at that moment. However, that moment that I feared .. has finally come to me. God made me a kara when I was eleven."

"Do you have no other brothers?" Satisfied Arumi hears a poignant story from the past of an Edgar.

Edgar laughed bitterly. He also shook his head. "What can we be proud of when we are already poor? Nothing, Arum! We will be their burden. However, I do not regret that. Because of the hard life I have lived, I can stand on my own feet and I can be in my position right now" Edgar concluded. He then breathed a sigh of relief.

"You're not making up stories to impress me, are you?" Chirps Arumi while staring fixedly at the man. Sometimes he scrunched his forehead.

Edgar laughed when he heard Arumi's speech. The girl sounded so innocent. He returned Arumi's gaze without letting go of his laughter. "Of course it's just a bitch! I'm proud that you're so smart, Babe. You are not easily lied to by such a cheap story" Edgar said. A moment later, he fell silent. His gaze straightened through the increasingly quiet night atmosphere. I don't know what time it was.

Arumi suddenly felt something else. There is something different about the look on the face of the man who had been considered as a bully. He knew that Edgar was covering something from himself.

"I used to sit here alone, Arum. There's nothing I'm doing. I just stared at the lights that looked so contrasting with the color of the night sky" Edgar said.
