The Mist In Arumi's Heart

The Mist In Arumi's Heart
Hidden Love

Since her dispute with Arumi that day, Carmen has become more reserved. He was more alone and spoke only as necessary, even to Edgar.

Actually, such circumstances made Edgar and Arumi feel uncomfortable. However, as young people they respected the attitude taken by Carmen. They did not impose their will on the woman.

“Am I being too hard on Aunt Carmen?” Arumi showed a face filled with regret. He sat half-leaning on Edgar's chest, lifting and bending his legs over the sofa.

Edgar, who had been gently stroking Arumi's hair, just muttered softly. Sometimes he kisses the wife's forehead. “It's okay, let it go. I think Aunt Carmen also needs time to reflect,” replied Edgar. He tried to look calm and ordinary, although the look in his eyes pointed to the opposite.

As a wife, Arumi can feel the turmoil that is disturbing the husband. He could understand that Edgar must be feeling sad, because Carmen seemed to keep her distance.

Arumi felt guilty about the situation.

February, a month that feels so cold. Snow fell and made the atmosphere feel so sad. Arumi and Edgar spent more time by the fireplace, especially at night. They mingle together, enjoying the beauty of married life, although until now they have not had a honeymoon.

“Did you decide where to go for our honeymoon later, darling?” ask Edgar. He seems reluctant to discuss Carmen's problems, so prefers to discuss other issues.

“I don’t know. I have no idea,” replied Arumi slowly. He was playing Edgar's fingers.

“What if Italy or maybe Switzerland?” bargain Edgar.

Arumi laughed softly with her somewhat raucous voice. The woman then corrected her sitting position. He no longer leaned against Edgar's chest. Now, he faced the man and put on his sweet face.

Edgar smiled calmly. He raised his legs and straightened them on the sofa. Arumi immediately climbed onto the body of the husband and folded his hands which he placed over Edgar's chest. Arumi then placed her chin there.

Meanwhile, Edgar placed his hand on Arumi's slender waist. He also stroked his wife's back lovingly. She looked at the sweet and adorable face that was before her. Edgar will always be fascinated with the owner of that face.

“This is something strange, dear,” said Arumi slowly.

“What's weird?” edgar asked without removing his hand from Arumi's back wrapped in a thick sweater. Arumi looked at her husband. He also scrunched his forehead.

“Paris is the destination city of many couples. While we go on honeymoon to another country?”

Edgar laughed at the wife's innocent words. He shook his head as a sign that he did not think out with Arumi's thoughts. “I think we need a new atmosphere. We have seen the Eiffel Tower and the Seine River too often. Don't you want to see Pissa Tower, Pyramid, or maybe you want to visit Santorini?” bargain Edgar.

Arumi smiled broadly. “Very interesting,” answered.

“Of course. I am indeed very interesting, darling,” Edgar said as he tightened his embrace. Arumi also looks very comfortable on the body of the husband, until unwittingly they both finally fell asleep on the sofa.

The night is getting late. The clock is already pointing at the number eleven. Arumi woke up from her sleep. His body felt sore because he fell asleep in a down position.

Arumi decided to leave her room. He walked into the kitchen and intended to make a warm drink, especially because his stomach was hungry.

However, before he got to the kitchen, his steps had to stop in the living room he passed. Arumi silently watched the woman sitting alone by the fireplace.

It looks like Carmen is holding a picture frame. Susana in the living room was so dim. Only a yellow light from the outboard lamp and the fire from inside the furnace, provided the illumination for the spacious enough room. Arumi dared herself to come closer and greet the middle-aged woman.

“Bibi ...” greet Arumi slowly. Carmen flinched and immediately turned her head. The picture frame he was looking at fell out of his hand. Fortunately, the frame did not break.

Arumi is getting closer. Carmen immediately grabbed the picture and tried to hide it. However, unfortunately Arumi had first seen the image attached inside the picture frame. Arumi saw clearly if it was a photo of Joacquin Guzman.

“What did Aunt do with Mr Guzman's photo?” search Arumi curiously. He was not far from the woman. The woman who is now looking restless, because what she does is known by Arumi.

Carmen seemed to be misbehaving. He then put the photo back in its place and intended to leave the room. However, Arumi immediately stopped him. “I want to talk for a minute,” he said.

Carmen was stunned and turned. His gaze was flat and implied a pain he was unable to express.

“I want to talk about Edgar,” Arumi said again even though Carmen did not answer. However, he knew that the woman was still responding to what she said. Therefore, Arumi would continue her words even though Carmen did not respond, the important thing was that the woman was still willing to listen to her.

“If Auntie doesn't want to talk to me, then it's okay. I can understand it. Don't do that to Edgar! Although he looked calm and showed a normal attitude, but I knew that he was very sad because of this situation. Don't get in touch with Edgar in Auntie's frustration with me! This is my business with Aunt, and my husband is just trying to mediate. After all, he was just trying to protect my pride and in fact he still had great respect for Auntie. So please consider that! I didn't like it when I saw Edgar smiling at me with a forced smile!” Arumi.

Carmen's speechless. He looked at Arumi. He just found out if the woman Edgar married was not as sweet as his face. Arumi was not a spoiled woman as she had thought all along. Carmen can see it clearly from the attitude and manner of Arumi's speech is so straightforward and also very firm, which sometimes sounds sharp and so piercing the recesses of his heart.

The blonde woman decided to sit back by the fireplace. His gaze is still empty. He was pensive too. I don't know what is weighing on his mind now, which must have made Arumi's heart immediately feel full. Arumi realized that her words and tone were too harsh towards the middle-aged woman.

“You're right, Arum,” Carmen said in her soft, slightly vibrating voice.

“I realized when you said I wouldn't know what it's like to love, because I never knew what it's like to share that wonderful feeling with someone. I just felt and kept that feeling to myself, with no one knowing it, including the one I love,” Carmen bowed her face. His words sounded so heartbreaking, making Arumi think and try to guess the direction of the speaker.

Look into the eyes of the beautiful woman, now fixed on the photo stored on a small table next to the sofa. Arumi seemed to be starting to understand something. However, was it really what he had in mind or was it just an estimate?

“What's wrong with Mr Guzman?” ask Arumi. Curiosity began to present and tickle his curiosity. Carmen did not immediately answer. The shoulder-haired woman was still silent as she stared at the still burning fireplace.

“Does he whose Aunt meant Mr Guzman, my husband's adoptive father?” search Arumi again.

Carmen looked. His eyes looked pretty and really excited. But at last he nodded slowly.
