The Mist In Arumi's Heart

The Mist In Arumi's Heart
Raclette vs Cassoulet

Raclette, that's the menu that Arumi prepared this time for Edgar. He had just finished all his work in the kitchen, when Carmen came to him. The middle-aged woman was stunned to see the food that was ready to be served.

“Why did you make that, Arum? Don't you know Ed's favorite winter menu yet?” carmen protested in a somewhat cynical tone.

Arumi did not answer. The young lady just stared fixedly at Carmen. Carmen now intends to create a new menu, which will be served to Edgar. “I used to make Ed Cassoulet. He really likes the food,” Carmen said again. The woman began to prepare white beans and other complementary ingredients.

While Arumi was still standing half-leaning on the edge of the marble-clad table. He also folded his hands on his chest, while the sharper he looked for the blond woman.

Arumi was increasingly inexhaustible with the attitude of the old woman. He did not understand why Carmen was so possessive of Edgar. Carmen behaves as if Edgar would throw it away after the man married Arumi, or does he not like Arumi?

“What's your problem with me, Aunty?” asked Arumi very straightforwardly. The sound of his voice sounded quite firm.

Carmen looked. He stopped his work for a moment. “No,” he replied, “I just said if Ed prefers Cassoulet for the winter menu,” Carmen added as she continued her work. He seems to avoid eye contact with Arumi.

“When did Aunt make that my husband? Just yesterday, right?” Arumi with her rather cynical tone, made Carmen again stunned. However, he did not answer. The woman returned to her job.

Arumi then stepped forward and approached the woman who had just finished preparing the ingredients to make the menu he mentioned earlier. Still folding both hands on her chest, Arumi stood up while facing Carmen. The woman seemed to avoid it. He seems uncomfortable with Arumi's attitude and tone towards him.

“Don't we talk the other day at Edgar's apartment? I have given an explanation that I think Auntie can understand well, but it turns out Aunt still does not understand everything I have said,” Arumi said without making small talk again.

“What do you mean, Arum?” Carmen pretended not to understand the meaning of Arumi's words. Again the woman avoided eye contact with Arumi who was looking at her sharply.

“Do not pretend, Auntie! I know what my aunt told my husband yesterday. I heard it, and frankly I felt very surprised. May I know what makes Auntie seem to dislike me?” Arumi pointed at Carmen with a question that was actually very simple, but too difficult for Carmen to answer. The woman prefers to be quiet. While Arumi was still waiting for an answer from him.

“Why, Aunty? Did Auntie just dare to talk this and that to my husband? Why don't you dare open up to me?” challenge Arumi again, making Carmen feel intimidated by the attitude and questions from Arumi who seemed to corner her.

Arumi was still waiting for an answer from the woman. The answer he would either get or not, because Carmen didn't seem to want to respond. The woman continued to busy herself with the cassoulet menu that became her mainstay.

Arumi felt funny with the attitude of the middle-aged woman. He was not completely finished with the actions taken by Carmen. Arumi laughed softly. Laughter that sounds cynical. “Alright! If Auntie really doesn't want to explain anything to me, then that's not a big deal for me. I ask only a little of you, please never poison my husband's mind with your ugly thoughts about me! After all, Bibi would only waste energy by doing so, because right now I have become the wife of Edgar and her love for me is too great. Much bigger than a white bean!” arumi again.

Hearing Arumi's increasingly assertive speech, Carmen began to feel challenged. He turned to Arumi and looked at the young woman. An old eye with many wrinkles on its face, implying an increasingly uncomfortable looking taste.

“Then what do all the unpleasant words that Auntie addressed to me? I'm a lazy wife who always wakes up bad luck! I can't even complain about the weather being too cold!”

“You're too brave, Arum!” talk to Carmen suddenly.

Seeing the resistance from the woman, Arumi immediately straightened her body. He also lowered the hand he had folded on his chest. His gaze grew sharper he let out to the middle-aged woman. Arumi was standing right in front of him.

“I still respect Auntie. I really appreciate you as someone much older than me. I was also so impressed with all of Aunt's kindness during this time, but one Auntie's fault! Auntie was poisoning Edgar! While Bibi knew clearly, what Edgar felt about me!”

Arumi was silent for a moment. A moment later he resumed his words. “Edgar's love is too big and strong for me! Aunty was wrong to think that it could affect my husband in such an old fashioned way!” arumi continued with a tone of speech that began to soften again.

“Remember, Auntie! Don't let me remind you of your position in this house. After all, Aunt is just someone who has taken care of my husband More than that, Aunt is not who she is!” arumi again. His voice was slow but so sure.

“Sayang ...” heard Edgar's voice suddenly present in the kitchen. Arumi and Carmen looked at each other at the same time.

Edgar was standing at the doorway watching the two of them. The man still showed a calm look on his face even though the look in his eyes looked a little strange. Edgar then walked towards the two of them.

Arumi and Carmen were both silent. Arumi even slightly rewinded her body and rested her hips on the table near the stove. While Carmen just sculpted. The middle-aged woman looked at Edgar who was now standing between herself and Arumi.

“What exciting conversation is there here?” edgar asked curiously mixed with suspicion. He looked at the two women in turn.

“Nothing, Ed. I just told Arumi that you like Cassoulet when compared to Raclette,” Carmen replied with a slightly riled up facial expression. While Arumi only showed a cynical smile at the corner of his lips.

Edgar looked back at his wife. He knew something had happened in the kitchen. He asked for an explanation to Arumi with his eye gesture.

Arumi immediately straightened his body. He then approached the husband and touched the thin-bearded face gently. With a sweet smile, Arumi said something to Edgar. “I just told aunt Carmen, that nothing can beat your love for me, because your love is too strong for me,” Arumi said with a satisfied smile. "Is that right, honey?" Arumi glanced at Carmen who was still standing.
