Chapter 66

     Aulia's eyes glazed over as she saw the quarrel of two people known to her. Damar and Shinta used to be so kind to him that they even loved him. Every time they come home from out of town they always buy souvenirs for him. They also always provide support if he goes to any race. Rangga's family is very kind and attentive to his father and himself. However, because of the forbidden love between himself and Rangga made the two turn to hate him.

"Mom, there's sustenance for the children." Aulia handed me a brown envelope.

"Thank you, thank you, Aulia. May Allah repay you for all the good you have done" said the caretaker, receiving the envelope with teary eyes.

"Aamiin," Aulia replied with a happy heart for being able to share with others in need. The money he gave me was just a little.

"God's Insha, He will certainly reward us for what we have done" continued Joseph's grandfather.

"Assalamu'alaikum," greeted someone and made the three people turn their attention to him.

"Wa'alaikumsalam," replied the three.

'Sister Rangga.' Aulia was very surprised when she saw Rangga coming to the orphanage.

"Son Rangga, I don't think it will come today" said the caretaker.

"Safiyah is waiting for you, you see!" said the middle-aged woman.

     They know the people who are there. He greeted Joseph and Aulia.

"Do you know each other?" ask the caretaker's mother.

"Yes, we already know each other, Mom," replied Aulia.

"Father!" a little girl who ran towards Rangga while carrying a doll in her hand.

"Safiyah, papa kangen," said Rangga while holding a child who was about two years old. He smirked at the puffed cheeks until the boy laughed happily.

     Aulia was so shocked to see that scene in front of her. Shadow if their daughter was still alive, surely Rangga would also treat like this.

     Rangga sat while holding Safiyah. Sometimes he feeds cakes into the mouth of the boy who has been babbling since.

     What Aulia knew was that Safiyah was a cheerful and adorable child. However, when with Rangga, he became a very spoiled and attention-seeking child.

"Why didn't Rangga adopt Safiyah?" ask Aulia.

     Aulia knew the story of when Safiyah was found in front of the gate with the ari-ari rope still there and stored in a used box. The size of the baby was also very small and turned blue from the cold. So it has to be taken to the hospital.

"Since Safiyah's first day in the hospital, Rangga was the one who took care of and financed her treatment. Even he also gave the name Safiyah," explained the caretaker's mother.
