Chapter 58. Aulia became quiet

Chapter 58

     Hearing the name Gus Fathir called by Aulia Adan Annisa, made Alvan curious. He wanted to know what that figure was like. 

'Is Gus Fathir a man like Ahmad?' inner Fathir.

     As Alvan read the book, he fell asleep involuntarily. Until Aulia awakens herself to Ashar prayers. 

"What time is it?" asked Alvan while glancing at his cellphone which was far from the reach of his hand.

"Nearly four in the afternoon" replied Aulia.

"What's? How long have I been asleep?" alvan asked as he tried to move his body into a wheelchair.

"Where do I know Sir. You've not come out since you got into a room after coming home from the mosque. I also just got home from the boarding school" said Aulia.

     It turned out that Alvan's hope of meeting Fathir was not realized because when he came out of the room, he saw a lot of piles of souvenirs. He was really curious about a man who could have been his love rival.

     Aulia had already given the marks and names on the dus that contained goods and food. Aulia had also prepared Alvan's suitcase and put in a clean shirt.

"Have all my belongings been put back in the suitcase?" ask Alvan.

"Yes. Only the clothes you are wearing and another set will be worn for tomorrow" replied Aulia.

"Where are the clothes for me to wear after the shower?" ask Alvan.

"Astaghfirullahal. How I forgot." Aulia patted her eel. Then, he reopened Alvan's suitcase.

     Joseph's grandfather and Halimah's grandmother occupied Aulia's room long ago because Aulia slept in her parents' second room. The courtyard of Aulia's house is also now lush by trees so that the air is fresher and cooler.

    Aulia pushed the wheelchair towards the elevator. Again Alvan silently watched Aulia from the reflection of the elevator wall.

     Even in the office, Aulia did not talk too much. He even looks like the spirit of doing all his tasks piled up on the table.

     Alvan really felt very neglected by his assistant. The moment she wanted to call Aulia, the phone on her desk rang.

"Yes, what's up, Yukari?" ask Alvan.

"Tell them inside" said Alvan.

     Hearing the names of Rangga and Barata mentioned by Yukari, made Alvan remembered the figure of a quiet woman in the village of Joseph's grandfather. The sound of a knock on the door made Alvan stop his work.

     The arrival of Rangga and Barata into Alvan's office made Aulia very surprised. Now he can see the figure of stepfather Pearl who had the heart to torture his best friend.

     The middle-aged man who still looked fit and had a very friendly face was seen smiling at Alvan. People would not have thought that the man had such a cruel personality.

"Hi, Alvan," said Rangga.

"Good day, Alvan," said Barata.

"Hi, Ranges. Good day, Om," replied Alvan.

"I heard you yesterday went on vacation with Aulia," Rangga said with a smile teasing his best friend.

"Yes, I want to calm my heart and mind. It's good that I'm very comfortable and happy on vacation yesterday" Alvan replied.

"Where did you go on vacation yesterday?" ask Barata curiously.

'This is the man who made Ara's life suffer?' Aulia clenched her hands tightly. Suddenly, a sense of hate arose in his heart.
