Chapter 31

"Assalamu'alaikum," greeted someone as he knocked on the door.

"Wa'alaikumsalam," Aulia replied as soon as she opened the door.

"I'm sorry, I'm left behind" Iqbal said in embarrassment.

"Oh, come on in, please" said Aulia, opening her door wide.

     Iqbal's skullcap is where Iqbal was sitting. He took it and put it on.

"Aulia, thank you for accepting Ahmad. He was a kind, patient, and loving man. Insha Allah, he will always try to make you happy. I'm glad you accept the shortcomings of my best friend. May you guys really be a match" Iqbal said before the break. 

      Aulia also believes that Ahmad is a very good person. The way the young man looked at him, was not a disdainful or condescending look. It was a gaze full of admiration. So is he with himself. He saw that Ahmad was a great man, his dream. Men who have faith, knowledge, adab, and morals. Ahmad also has a halal income to finance his family's life later.

     Fathir pacing in the living room. His mind was now filled with talk between Aulia and Annisa this afternoon. The two talked about Aulia doing ta'aruf with Ahmad, Fathir's senior. He knew Ahmad was a very good man and deserved to be made a husband. However, her little heart felt unwilling to see Aulia with another man.

"Fathir forget Aulia, let her be happy with the man of her choice" Fathir murmured as he closed his eyes.

"Until when can Gus Fathir forget Aulia?" Ning Aliyah was already standing near her husband.

"It seems I can't forget him for the rest of my life" Fathir replied.

     Fathir only found out the truth behind spreading rumors about Aulia first. It turned out to be the work of one of the distant relatives of the Kiai Rojaq family who married one of his relatives. The person deliberately spread about Aulia both in the pesantren environment and the community environment. Of course the reason was so that Aulia could not become his wife. Though the parents and elders of his family can already accept Aulia even on condition.

      Now Fathir knew why the Kiai Rojaq family was in such a hurry to marry Ning Aliyah to him. It turned out that there was a plan from the son of another pesantren owner who wanted to abuse Ning Aliyah back then. He was so upset that he fell victim to someone else's plan. 

"Did Gus Fathir realize that the words just now hurt my heart?" Ning Aliyah stared intently with teary eyes.

"Your family's actions hurt me even more" Fathir replied, leaving his wife.

     Ning Aliyah cried, she knew that her family had planned all of this. She also prefers Fathir over the man her grandfather had planned to be her husband. For, in any case, Fathir is far better than that man.

"Grandfather, I'm sorry I have anything to ask about Mas Ahmad" Aulia said after finishing dinner.

"What's that?" ask grandfather Yusuf.

"Tadi Mas Ahmad asked if it was okay if the dowry of the house and its contents. So Aulia said not to overdo it, as much as possible Mas Ahmad. Mas Ahmad said, it had been planned from the past if he wanted to give such dowry," replied Aulia felt bad.

"The problem is Kek, the house is a luxurious and large house. It also contains luxury items. There's a car too. Aulia felt unworthy of such a dowry. That's very excessive for Aulia, Kek," said Aulia.

"Where do you know it's a mansion?" ask grandfather Yusuf.

"Mas Ahmad sent us a video of the house. He said if someone said less, he would complete it," Aulia replied while handing over her cellphone that played the video of the shipment.

"That Ahmad is not a person who is miserly to anyone. Especially if you are his future wife. Surely he wants to give the best for you, Aulia," said Joseph's grandfather.

"So, does Aulia have to accept the house as her dowry later?" ask Aulia.

"Thank you. Make your future husband happy, because what he plans can run smoothly," said Yusuf's grandfather with a smile.

     Annisa's arrival to Joseph's grandfather's house early in the morning made Aulia surprised. He didn't think his best friend would come to see you.

"What's the matter Ning, early in the morning has come to see you?" ask Aulia.

"Aulia, did you know that Ustadz Azka was married by her brother in his hometown. I was angry, I was hurt" Annisa said in Aulia's arms crying.

"Patience, Ning. It is destiny, we can only plan, God determines" said Aulia.

"I don't think it out, said Ustadz Azka he came home because his brother was sick. But, in fact, he got married there," Annisa said in her sobs.

"Be assured, that God will give the best soul mate for us," said Aulia while rubbing the back of the poor girl who was heartbroken.

     Annisa cried for a long time and she was able to calm down after Joseph's grandfather calmed her down. After that he just returned to Ndalem.

      As a friend, of course Aulia was also sad. Annisa had long loved Ustadz Azka, and vice versa, but their destiny was not to become a married couple.

      Although Ahmad and Aulia had decided to enter into a marriage relationship, the young man only visited Joseph's grandfather's house once. He was afraid of being a slander among them. If there is anything in between is Joseph's grandfather or Halimah's grandmother. Their wedding is scheduled to be held in three months. Although Ahmad has a lot of money and does not mind if you have a fancy wedding party. Aulia chose to marry simply because all that was needed was the prayers of those who knew them. Finally, they decided to hold a wedding reception at Joseph's grandfather's house. 

"Grandfather, will Mas Ahmad invite his relatives?" ask Aulia while writing the names of the guests who will be invited.

"To my grandfather's knowledge, he no longer had a family. Ahmad was born from a good family, only their fate has a short life. Ahmad's great-grandfather was a warrior who died while defending the country's independence. His grandfather also died during an uprising by the communists, and his father, mother, and sister died in a deliberate accident by a business rival. They are good people who spend their wealth in the way of Allah. They are not people who are crazy about wealth or the glare will sparkle the life of the world" explained Joseph's grandfather.

"Sorry, Cake. Were Mas Ahmad's eyes also the result of the accident?" ask Aulia. All this time he never asked. For Aulia Ahmad is the perfect man, her dream type.
