CHAPTER 10
"Grandfather, can the sin of adultery be forgiven by God?" aulia asked Grandpa Joseph.
"Insha Allah. Allah is Forgiving. Whatever sin He will forgive the sin of the repentant servant" answered Joseph.
"I used to sin a lot, Mother," I Aulia with a trembling voice.
"Repent with the repentance of nasuha (recessfully repent). Expand your prayers, practice obligatory prayers at the beginning of time, fast, alms, and do good to your mother and father, you," replied Grandpa Yusuf.
"Take me, Cake. To be the servant who always keeps His commandments. I am one of those people who are ignorant of religion. I used to underestimate this, even though the science of religion is very important and meaningful for humans who are only slaves. Where he should worship God. I used to think science was more important than religion. How stupid and ugly I am. Now it is only realized that the science of religion is much more important for humans," said Aulia withholding her tears.
"Yes right, science is also important for human life in the world. While the science of religion is important for human life in the world to the hereafter. Many people are lost because they do not have a grip of the faith in their lives. Most of them think for the success of their world life until they forget the afterlife. We Muslims are required to be balanced in thinking about our lives in the world and our lives in the hereafter. We should not just focus on the life of the world and forget about our life in the afterlife. Or instead, we focus on thinking about the afterlife and forgetting the current life that is still taking place in the world. Basically, we have to be balanced. Science is important, religion is important. Seek knowledge until the end of our lives, whether it be science or religious knowledge," explained Grandpa Yusuf and embraced by Aulia.
"How about that nashuha roast, how's Kek? Is there a special way?" aulia asked in curiosity.
"As grandfather said, you promise not to repeat the sin. Pray repentance, obligatory prayers should not be abandoned, multiply prayer, fasting, almsgiving, do good to both parents, keep the cord of friends, fill your free time with something useful that can bring rewards. Grandfather is sure you can" replied Grandpa Yusuf.
"Grandfather, both of my men are dead. How to replace it, how?" aulia asked with a sad look.
"Create them. Alms in their name, keep the cord of friendship with the relatives and friends of our parents," replied Grandpa Yusuf.
"If this istighfar recitation for me is truly a multitude of sins, in order to be forgiven by God, is there any special istighfar reading?" ask Aulia again.
"Many istighfar readings are exemplified by His Majesty the Prophet Shallahu alaihi wa salam. This is an istighfar phrase that is often uttered by the Prophet Shallahu alaihi wa salam, 'Subhaanallaahi wa bihamdihii astaghfirullaahi wa atuubu ilaiih (Holy God with all the statements of thanksgiving to Him, I beg Allah for forgiveness and repent to Him)'" said Joseph's Grandfather.
"Subhaanallaahi wa bihamdihii astaghfirullaahi wa atuubu ilaiih," repeated Aulia several times until she felt memorized outside her head.
"You're smart, Aulia. Can be quickly memorized. Expand reading istighfar between your free time, be it verbally or in your heart. For God loves his servant who remembers Him much. Be it when alone or when many people," Grandpa Yusuf said with pleasure.
"Said Grandma Halima, dhikr it is a practice of worship that is easy to do and has a great reward value" said Aulia.
"Yes, praying is a very easy worship for us. But it has a great reward value because we can recite while sitting, standing, or lying down. We either have ablution or do not have ablution. If we pray we must have ablution, while we can recite even though we are not in a holy state. Women also when the month came to replace prayer and read the Qur'an by increasing the dhikr to remember God," explained Grandpa Joseph.
"He he, I didn't know that when a woman was menstruating her worship was replaced with recitation. I guess everything is off when we menstruate" said Aulia timidly.
Grandfather Yusuf just smiled, then he said, "From tomorrow if you come to the month of dhikr in exchange for praying and teaching. Don't forget to recite in the morning and in the afternoon."
"I used to think that recitation was only after prayer. It turns out that anytime we can do miserly," Aulia was honestly ashamed of her stupidity.
As they were conversing, suddenly there was a person who was saying greetings. Joseph's grandfather opened the door to welcome guests.
"Assalamu'alaikum," greeted the man again for the third time.
"Ustadz Yusuf, sorry to interrupt the nights" said the guest unkindly.
"It's okay. Is there a need for what Gus Fathir night-night to come here?" asked Grandpa Yusuf as soon as they sat in the front seat on the porch.
"Abah wants to invite Ustadz, to discuss the event of the Akbar Reunion this year. Abah hopes that Ustadz can participate in this event" Fathir replied.
"God's Insha, I'm ready. What's the job as usual?" ask Grandpa Yusuf.
"Yes, Ustadz. Fill in the lecture on the first day," replied the handsome young man.
"Excuse me, here's the drinking water." Aulia brought two glasses of sweet tea water and a plate of fried bananas.
"God willing!" pekik Fathir was surprised when he saw a very beautiful girl smiling at him.
Aulia felt confused as the man who was often called Gus Fathir suddenly screeched after seeing himself. He felt he had done something wrong.
"Gus's gaze" Grandpa Yusuf teased at the sight of Fathir not blinking at the sight of Aulia.
Fathir quickly bowed his head and said, "Astaghfirullahal'adzim."
"Grandfather .. Gus Fathir, I'll go back first. Want to help Grandma," said Aulia then entered the house again.
"Did Gus Fathir know who the woman was?" grandpa asked Joseph to test the young man.
"Is he ... Aulia?" answer Fathir sangsi.
"Yes, you're right Gus. She is Aulia. That poor city girl," Grandpa Yusuf replied with a smile.
'Aulia while wearing the headscarf, she is very beautiful, ' Fathir's inner self.
"Aulia chose to study religion at home with me and Mom. He said he was ashamed to know the people here. Maybe later if he can teach, I will ask again. Who knows, he will be ready to know the crowd" continued Grandpa Yusuf.
"And it will be more exciting if you study together with others" said Fathir.
"Why Gus? Do you like Aulia?" teased Grandpa Yusuf with a wicked smile.
"He was very young, Ustadz. Unable to get married yet," replied Fathir.
"Well, you already have a desire to get married!" Grandfather Joseph was still happy to tease the son of his former student.
"Yes, of course Ustadz. I also want to get married later," said Fathir with his face that has been blushing.
