Chapter 17

"Did you introduce my name, Aulia," Aulia said smilingly as she extended her hand.

"A-ra," the girl stuttered back and her voice sounded strange. Hoarse and squeaking.

Honestly Aulia had never heard such a voice before. He shed his tears. It is difficult for Pearl to speak.

"Ara, can you fry?" ask Aulia.

"Can-can," he replied again.

"I'll show you how to make chips and until the chips are golden. It should not be too light yellow or brownish yellow," says Aulia. Then, he explained while practicing.

The pearls follow the steps that Aulia has exemplified. The results were good according to Aulia. His mind, if he often made it, then it would be even better the results.

"Eh, who is this?" ask Grandma Halimah.

"This, Grandma. A friend who will help Aulia make chips. Lately many have asked for order chips. But, Aulia did not have any more time. So, follow Grandpa's advice. Looking for an employee to help Aulia," replied Aulia.

The pearl introduced itself. It turned out that the girl knew Grandma Halimah. On the contrary, Grandma Halimah knows her grandmother Pearl.

"Oh, you're Mintarsih's grandson. Until pangling, it turns out that it is now big," said Grandma Halimah.

"I-iya Us-Ustadz-ah," replied Pearl like speech difficulties.

Aulia had no idea what caused her Pearl to speak like this. He so did not have the heart to invite him to talk, if the Pearl had to answer a lot.

"May you be at home working here with Aulia" Grandma Halimah said.

"In-sha Allah, be-tah," replied Pearl squeaking.

Now Aulia and Grandpa Joseph were talking as usual. It turns out that Grandpa Yusuf also knew the life story of Pearl. It's just that Grandpa Yusuf didn't tell me the details. It's just, she said Pearl was a poor girl. He wished that Aulia could love him and consider him a friend.

"Parents' obligations to the child are numerous. Among them are: being a good parent. Giving a good name means good, good, and noble for the child. Giving ASI to the child. Teaching or giving religious knowledge to children. Giving a living for his son. Give him halal food. Married a child with a good candidate for her. Be fair to him. Nodding children. Provide a good education. Giving affection and taking good care of her," explained Grandpa Yusuf told Aulia that she would not be wrong later when she became a parent. She wanted Aulia to know her obligations as a parent later on.

"Both bad our biological parents, still can not be denied if we are his children. If, the child loves God and always keeps his commandments and keeps away from his prohibitions. He will treat his parents well. Although they did not give their children the right. Or his parents did not carry out their obligations to him. So we must do something with the intention of God and expect His pleasure. If we do good to humans and hope for good or ask for good back for us, surely we will often be hurt," explained Grandpa Joseph.

"Yes, Cake. What you said just now is true. Aulia used to help friends or help them. However, when Aulia needed their help, no one gave any help. There are so many reasons that they make" said Aulia.

"Makanya, hope it is only to Allah. He will send his help to us unexpectedly and unexpectedly" Grandpa Yusuf said with a warm smile.

"Yes, Cake. We do good not because we want to be praised. Later can not be rewarded," concluded Aulia with a grin. He never involved God in his affairs. It seemed to have been a waste of his goodness because his intention was not God's.

"Hopefully, you can be a good mother and be a parent who is able to produce a great next generation" said Grandpa Yusuf Praying Aulia.

"Aamiinu. Aamiin Ya Rabbal Alamin."

Three months later.

Fathir came to Grandpa Yusuf's house during the day. He just came home teaching. He was happy when he saw Aulia who opened the door for him.

"Assalamu'alaikum" hail Fathir.

"Wa'alaikumsalam, Gus Fathir. Want to see Grandpa?" aulia asked with her beautiful smile.

"Is Ustadz Yusuf around?" ask Fathir.

"Grandfather went to fill the study to the hamlet next door. Looks like it will be the night of her return," replied Aulia.

"Can we both talk?" asked Fathir nervously.

"Can. Come in first, Gus. I made you a drink." Aulia went to the kitchen and made some sweet tea. The habit of people here if there are guests is always made sweet tea. It's hot, warm, or cold.

Aulia brought two glasses of warm tea water and two jars of banana and cassava chips. That's all that's in the house.

"What's up, huh, Gus?" ask Aulia.

"That-that?" Fathir's throat was choked.
