Chapter 18

Aulia's feeling when she saw the guests who came to the house, between happy and nervous. Seeing men who lately often disturb his life. Glowing handsome parasites, shady eyes, and a charming smile. Often makes Aulia beristighfar because it is happy to look at men who are not mahramnya.

After placing a glass filled with sweet tea water and two jars filled with chips. Aulia sat on the sofa opposite Fathir.

"What's up, huh, Gus?" aulia asked as she lowered her head because she was ashamed of not wearing a veil.

"That-that?" Fathir, his throat was dry.

"Here's the tea, Gus." Aulia felt pity because her best friend's sister was like a dry throat.

"Thank you" said Fathir and took the glass in front of him, and he drank it, "bismil was bornrahmanirrahim."

A glass of sweet tea was completely drained in one breath. Fathir is really nervous at the moment.

"May I ask you something very privacy?" ask Fathir at last.

"By, Gus. I will answer if I can answer it," replied Aulia.

"How many years are you at the moment?" ask Fathir. Though he already knew from his sister who told Aulia the date of birth yesterday.

"I've turned nineteen" replied Aulia.

"Then, is there a plan to establish a committed relationship with men?" asked Fathir nervously. His hands clutching both knees.

"I mean Gus, what? Shouldn't we be dating?" Aulia asked back.

"Who said we shouldn't be dating?" Fathir denies it.

"Isn't dating illegal because it's one of those acts that comes close to adultery? Why does Gus not understand this," said Aulia rather disappointed.

"That's if it's done before marriage. But, if it was done after marriage, it instead gained merit," Fathir replied holding back his smile upon seeing Aulia's facial expression.

"Ja-di, you mean Gus was married?" tanya Aulia stuttered so shocked and deg-degan at the same time.

"Yes, Aulia. Is there a man who invites you to commit?" fathir asked now his eyes could not be separated from Aulia's movements and body language.

Fathir was rather surprised to hear Aulia's words just now. As far as he was concerned, there were already some people who asked Aulia to do ta'aruf through Grandpa Yusuf.

"I think you're old enough to be in a serious relationship. Your religious understanding is also very good now. Umma told me that you already memorized the thirtyth juz. Also said Annisa, you are good at cooking and taking care of the house. You are a trustworthy person said Ustadzah Halimah. Ustadz Yusuf also said that you have become a smart Muslim woman," praised Fathir and it made Aulia very embarrassed.

"They overestimated me, Gus. I'm not as good as they think I am" Aulia replied.

"Aulia, will you make me your priest?" ask Fathir expectantly.

Aulia's heart felt timid. His body trembled, either so excited or even scared.

"Gus, do you realize what you just said?" Aulia asked again. Afraid that the man had spoken wrongly.

"Conscious. I know what I just told you. I want to be your priest. I hope to spend time with you in the shade of Allah Azza Wa Jalla," Fathir replied.

Aulia's tears melted down her cheeks. How happy he was when his dream man asked him to be his life companion. It felt like he wanted to directly answer, 'Yes, be willing!'

"Gus, you know how my past is. I realized, no matter what, it would be a problem" said Aulia.

"I knew. And I'm not gonna dispute that. I see you now and you will come. Let the past be our secret" Fathir replied.

"Thank you, Gus. Allow me to discuss this with Grandpa Yusuf and Grandma Halima. Also I want to do istikharah first," said Aulia.

"Yes. I will wait for your answer" said Fathir.

Starting from a sense of admiration, the two became fond. Where a feeling that arises anywhere, anytime, and to anyone. Awe will appear after we feel attracted to someone.

At night after Grandpa Yusuf's return. Aulia talked about that. He himself was confused and never did Istikharah prayer.

"Do it with the intention of asking God for guidance. May Allah make it easy for all your affairs" said Grandfather Joseph.

"Aulia will do it. Whatever the result, God willing, Aulia will be pleased," replied Aulia.
