Author POV.
That evening Fabian just got home from work. He was upset to find the porch of his house so dirty. Not only the front of the house, it turns out the living room also looks messy. From the living room, he stepped onto the dining table. He was getting inflamed when he opened the serving lid that was on the table. There is no food there.
Fabian was about to pour the drinking water from the teapot into the glass. However, the pot of drinking water was empty.
"What do you do all day at home?" ask Karmila who is in the room.
"Eh, are you home?" tanyakanya. His gaze did not even slightly switch from his phone screen.
"Dirty house, no food at the dinner table. What have you been doing all day?"
"Any woman who is young pregnant will feel lazy to do anything. I'm tired of taking care of my mom, too."
"I'm hungry, make food for me" Fabian said, loosening his tie and putting his briefcase on the dresser.
"Mas make instant noodles only. I've stocked a lot in the kitchen cupboard" said Karmila. He is still busy with his cell phone.
Fabian moved out of the room and walked into the kitchen. The room at the back of it also looks the same as the living room. Dirty and messy. Even the former dinnerware last night is also seen still filling the sink. No exception to the pot to boil water. Whether used to boil what, the kitchen furniture looks so dirty and oily.
"Zura is so good at taking care of the house. When I come home from work, the house is always in a neat state. The dining table is never empty. Uh! Why would I compare it to Karmila?"
Fabian had no choice but to wash the kitchen furniture that filled the sink. He also cooked instant noodles to block his stomach that feels hungry. Not even the first spoon entered his mouth, suddenly there was a cry from Mila from inside the room.
"Mas, make me warm tea dong."
"Where has Zura ever told me to serve him? While pregnant she almost never complained let alone being spoiled like this" Fabian murmured.
"Yes. Just a minute."
Fabian left his instant noodles and rushed to brew warm tea for his wife.
"How's mom doing?" ask when he re-enters the room.
"What is how? Mom's still just like that. There's no change."
"You took good care of mom, didn't you? Even if I'm not home."
"Why are you suddenly like that?"
"When I had heard the grapevine from the residents of this housing complex, they often heard you snapped at mother."
"ah! Don't beat them. I know what my name is neighbor. Sometimes small things are exaggerated."
"I hope you take good care of your mother" Fabian said.
"Oh yes, Mas. How about we use the services of a housekeeper in our home? Lately I have often felt the hassles of taking care of the house. Not to mention taking care of mom."
"no need. Instead of being used to pay a housekeeper, we should save the money for the cost of labor later. You also know, every month I have to pay for this car and house installment? Azzura never once intended to use the services of a household assistant. To him taking care of the house is one of the worship of a wife."
"Lohs. How do you compare me to Azzura?" mila protest.
"It's not like that. I'm just saying that Zura can do housework without anyone else's help. You should be able to do it too."
"Just defend Azzura!"
Karmila put her phone down, turned her face towards the wall.
"You will soon be a mother. Be more mature. Don't get a little angry, a little upset."
"Mas can't say the woman's name in front of me? Please respect me as your wife."
"I want you to learn a lot from him. She's an independent woman and doesn't complain easily."
"Tonight I slept on the couch!"
"T-t-but, …"
Karmila ignored Fabian's words. He turned off the lights and pulled the blanket. Fabian had no choice but to leave his room. Seconds later he was already in the dining room. The instant noodles that he had brewed had of course become cold.
"ah! I don't taste anymore."
Fabian left the dining table and set foot into the living room. Just laying down his body on the sofa, his phone suddenly rang. After knowing the name of the caller's contact, he rushed out of the room. Despite trying not to make a sound, Karmila still heard Fabian shut the front door of their house.
"Where are you going Fabian?" muttered.
Karmila could hear Fabian chatting with someone by phone next to her house.
"Who's calling these nights? Why did Fabian have to leave the house to answer the phone?" muttered.
In order to answer her curiosity, Mila came out of her room and eavesdropped on Fabian's chat from the window in the dining room. Unfortunately, he could not hear quite clearly the contents of their conversation because Fabian spoke slowly.
"Who called Fabian? Lest he hide something from me" he murmured.
From where he stood, he shifted to the living room. Slowly he turned the doorknob then pushed it. From that place she could have been a little clearer hearing her husband's chat with the caller. Unfortunately, Fabian had already ended his conversation. However, one thing that makes her heart hot is the last sentence that her husband said was "Beautiful dream, yes. Don't forget to dream of me."
"Who's calling?"
Fabian almost dropped his phone when he found Karmila suddenly standing behind him, ruffled around his waist.
"Ehm, it's nobody. Just friends," Fabian replied with a panicked look.
"so yeah. What kind of friend hangs up the phone with a sweet greeting?"
"You heard wrong. Come on, let's go in."
Fabian took Mila's hand and invited her into the house. However, Mila brushed it off violently. He forced Fabian's phone to check the number on the last call list. He grew curious when he found a contact named S on the incoming call.
"Who is this number?" tanyakanya.
"He-he's nobody."
"Are you playing with fire behind my back?"
"What do you mean? Don't just accuse."
"If he's your friend, now also call him with a loudspeaker," said Mila who suddenly made Fabian confused.
"Why are you silent? Call this number in front of me!" Karmila raised her voice.
"Ssst. Don't loud. It's not good to hear the neighbors."
"Hurry up and call this number!" This time Karmila really snapped at Fabian.
"All right, I confess. The one who called me was my boss."
"Women' girls, right?"
