My madam, my poison

My madam, my poison
My decision

"Sorry, Doc. Am I allowed to go home today?" I asked the doctor when he had just entered my treatment room.

The glasses doctor frowned.

"Mom's condition is not very stable. I suggest you leave the hospital tomorrow."

"But, Doc. It requires me to go home immediately. I have a two-month-old baby, and I can't leave it for too long."

"Alright, if Mom forces. But you have to sign a statement stating if something happens to you, the hospital is not responsible."

"Okay, Doctor."

"Mayra Suster." The doctor called Mayra who had just entered my room.

"Yes, Doctor."

"Please take off this infusion tube, mother" he said before he left my room.

"God. Ra! Your condition has not recovered properly. Why are you forcing yourself to go home? What if something happens to you?"

"God willing I'll be fine, May."

"Why do you want to go home soon?"

"Lyra fever. He must be short of ASI. I'm worried she's okay."

"Oh yeah. Have you made your decision? You gonna stick with Fabian or you're gonna leave?" ask Mayra.

"You're right, May. I will not let them continue to step on my pride. Today I'm going to pick up Lyra and take her away from Mila's house."

"Wait on! Did I not hear wrong? You said Mila's house."

"Yes, May. Our house burned down and we could no longer afford to live. Fabian and Lyra now live there."

"So you accepted my offer to stay with me, right?" ask Mayra.

"Sorry, May. I didn't mean to reject your good intentions. But I don't want to bother you."

"You don't have to say that. We are friends. Friends should help each other."

"Where do you want to live?"

"You don't worry about that. I can stay in a rented house or a boarding house."

"I'm sure you're a strong woman. You can definitely pass this test.

If you change your mind, come to my house. My door is always wide open for you" he said.

"Thank you, May. You are a good friend" I said. I then ran into his arms.

Before leaving the hospital, I decided to see my mother in her treatment room.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Mom. How's Mom doing?" my broom.

My mother-in-law smiled. He then gave me a small gesture to sit on the side of his bed.

"Zura wants to say goodbye, Mom," I said with bated breath.

Mom shook her head.

"Zura's sorry, can't take care of Mom anymore. Zura has to go" I said as I clasped his hand.

I know, even though mom can't speak, her sense of hearing is still functioning properly. He must have known what happened to my household and Fabian.

"Ja-ngan-per-gi-Nduk" he said. I must have tried so hard to say that sentence.

"I'm sorry Zura, Mom. Zura couldn't afford to share her husband. Zura chose to leave." I grabbed his hand and kissed the back of his hand full of reverence.

"Assalamu'alaikum."

I blinked my eyes once so that the clear circle that had spread in my eyeball did not spill. You can't cry, Zura. You must be strong!

Mom also touched the top of my head. When I looked back at him, the pair of neutrals had been wet with the glass clumping in the fertilizer.

"I'm sorry Zura, Mom," I said.
