My madam, my poison

My madam, my poison
New busyness

As time went on, Lyra was seven years old and started attending Primary School. While Fina continued her education in college.

In addition to overseeing the production activities in the convection, I also occasionally visit the cake shop which is not far from the campus where brother Darren teaches which is also Fina's lecture hall.

"I went to my pastry shop first, Mom," I told my mom.

"Send by Mr. Amin, right?"

"No, Ma. Mr. Amin will have to pick up Lyra. I'll just take a cab."

"Alright, be careful."

After saying goodbye to my mother, I left my house and went to my cake shop.

"Good morning, ma'am," said my employee as I entered the store.

"Good morning. Very diligent of you. It's even half-eight in the morning."

"Yes, Mom. In these hours there are often boarding children who buy cakes for breakfast."

"That's it."

"Oh yes, Mom. Here's the report on the cake sale this month and the money. Please count first." The hijab girl handed me a book and some money.

The girl who graduated from SMK was named Ririn. Besides being diligent, he is also my honest employee. So far he has done his job well. Between the sales report and the results never once experienced a difference.

"Alhamdulillah, sales this month have increased," I said after observing the report in the book.

"Yes, Mom. Many customers say the cakes sold in this store are delicious and addictive. That's the reason they want to go back to this store" said the hijab girl.

"Alhamdulillah."

"Assalamu'alaikum," said someone who had just entered the store. The girl who also graduated from SMK majoring in boga was named Ana, my employee who served in the baking department.

"Wa'alaikumsalam" he said.

"Eh, there's Miss Zura."

"Yes, Na. I came here to check the sales this month and stock the ingredients in the kitchen" I explained.

"It looks like the stock of baking ingredients in the kitchen is still safe, only food coloring and baking soda are almost exhausted."

"Well, you'll make a shopping list. For the money I put on Ririn," I said. Ana nodded in understanding.

"Oh yes, this is bonus money for you because the sales of cakes this month increased," I said while thrusting four hundred thousand pieces of money on them.

"What is this, Mom? We just five days ago received a salary" Ririn said.

"It's okay, it's an added bonus for you to get excited about working at this cake shop."

"Alhamdulillah, you can buy skincare," said Ana who I responded with a thin smile.

"Oh yes, Rin. Is there a cake order today?" my many.

"Just a minute, Mom."

Ririn who served as the cashier then took an order book and gave it to me.

"100 cups of steamed sponge, and two boxes of brownies and one birthday cake. It seems like you will be quite busy if you have to do it yourself. Today I'm helping you in the kitchen" I said.

"Well, what dream did I have last night. Already got the bonus money, now assisted boss."

"Don't bother me that way. Oh yeah, if you're overwhelmed with cake orders, you say so. Later I will look for additional employees," I said.

"So far I can still work on all the cake orders myself. But, if Mom wants to give me a friend in the kitchen, I'll gladly accept." Ana chuckles.

"Huuuu .. Just tell me you're happy if someone helps you in the kitchen." Ririn.

"Well, I'll find an extra employee to help you in the kitchen."

"Ready, Boss!"

"I told you not to call me boss" I protested.

"Good, Mom."

"Yes, let's make our customer's order. They'd be happy if their order cake was ready early" I said.

Ana and I went from the front of the store to the kitchen.

We were busy making cakes in the kitchen when suddenly Ririn chatted with a buyer.

"Is here selling a legit sandwich, Ma'am?"

"Sorry, the legit sandwich in this store just happens to be empty. The maker is sick he said," he explained.

"Well, what a pity. Though this is the desire of my wife who is cravings."

In order to answer my curiosity, I left the kitchen and headed for the front room.

"Sorry, what's going on?" my many.

The man then looked towards me.

"God, Mr Hasan?"

Yes, that man was Mr. Hasan, my former neighbor when Fabian and I were living together in the Dahlia estate seven years ago.

"Son Zura? This is right, Zura, isn't it?"

"Yes, Sir. It's me Azzura."

"It's been a long time since we met. How are you and your family?"

"Thank God our good news. Oh yes, I heard you were looking for a legit sandwich for your wife who was cravings. What is Pure ma'am, …"

"Alhamdulillah, Son. After our long wait, my wife is finally pregnant."

"Subhanallah, I am so happy to hear this news."

"Thank you, son. I've been to some cake shops, but I didn't find a layer of cake as legit as my wife wanted. In this store, the stock is empty."

"Is that right, Rin?" I asked Ririn.

"Yes, Mom. I heard her legit sandwich maker is sick."

"Where else should I look for that legit sandwich? All this time my wife never asked for anything, time only ask for a legit layer cake I can not buy it," said Mr. Hasan.

"Ehm .. Here you go, sir. What if I just make a legit layer cake for Pure bu? God willing I can."

"Alhamdulillah then."

"But, the process of making this legit layer cake is quite time consuming, so you can go home first. Later I myself will deliver his own cake to the Father's house," he explained.

"I'm sorry, son, I'm so troublesome."

"Absolutely not a hassle. Later you just tell Murni if the legit layer cake is being made and will be delivered this afternoon. But you don't tell me if I'll drop off the cake. I want to surprise you."

"Well, how much does a legit sandwich cost, son?"

"Ah, no need to pay. Think of this as my congratulations on the Pure Bu pregnancy."

"Son Zura has never changed. Always kind and sincere to everyone. It is fitting that Nak Zura's life will improve even though he has separated from Fabian's son" said Mr. Hasan.

"Yes, I'm sorry, the cake will be delivered directly to my house. Nak Zura still remembers 'right the address?"

I'm reviewing the smile.

"Of course you remember, sir."

"Yes already, I'm going first, Assalamu'alaikum."

"Getishalight."

Mr. Hasan then left my cake shop.

*****

Right at 1 pm I and Ana have completed all cake orders including the legit layer cake that Murni wanted.

"These cookies are the customers themselves who took, right, Na?" my many.

"Yes, Mom."

"Yes, I want to deliver this legit layer cake for Pure mom. I know very well how good the cravings are," I said.

"Mother wasn't taken by Amin?" ask Ririn.

"No, Mr. Amin has to pick up Lyra. I'm here by taxi" I replied.

The cashier nodded in understanding.

"I'll say goodbye, go home. Assalamu'alaikum."

I also left the shop.

Twenty minutes later I arrived in front of Mr. Hasan's house.

I was just about to knock on the door of the light blue painted house, at the same time the door opened. A man in his 20s came out of the house.

"Who is this guy? Isn't Mr. Hasan and Mrs Murni alone?" my inner.

"Assalamu'alaikum," I said.

"Wa'aalaikumsalam's chat. I'm sorry, who's this mother, and what's the matter?"

"I want to meet Mommy Murni."

"Oh, Pure Budhe. Hold on, I'll call you."

The man I didn't know his name was inside the house. Not long after he returned to the terrace with Murni. He was so surprised to see me on the porch of his house.

"God, Miss Zura? Is this really Miss Zura?"

"Right, Mom, I'm Azzura. I came to Mom's house to deliver this legit sandwich, "I replied.

"Legal layer cake? How could Zura drive him?"

I'm reviewing the smile.

"I made this legit sandwich cake ."

"So you've been to several cake shops including this cake shop owned by Nak Zura, but you didn't find a legit layer cake like you wanted. So son Zura who took the time to make this legit layer cake specifically for Mom," said Mr. Hasan.

"God, Sister Zura had to bother making this cake for me. I'm sorry it's been a hassle."

"Absolutely not a hassle. Think of this as my congratulations on your pregnancy."

"Yes, Mother. After waiting for more than 15 years, God finally trusted us to have a baby."

"Alhamdulillah. Oh yeah, how many months is she pregnant, ma'am?" my question while gently rubbing his stomach that has begun to bulge it.

"Almost four months, Ma'am."

"Hopefully everything will be carried out until the day of delivery, ma'am" I said.

"Aamiin .. thanks for the prayer. Oh yeah, how's Lyra doing?"

"Alhamdulillah Lyra is healthy, ma'am. He was already in Primary School. Oh yeah, who was the guy who opened the door?"

"Oh, he's Mr. Hasan's nephew, his name is Rizal. He has been living here for almost six months. His house is in town B, and he's at university G."

"Oh, it just so happens that my adopted daughter also went to college there. He just majored in economics."

"If I may know, what is the name of Mother's daughter?" asked Rizal who had not left the living room.

"His name is Fina, her full name is Fina Hastuti."

"Oh, Fina. She's in class with me."

"The world is very narrow in its appearance" I said.

"Yes, excuse me first" I said.

"Well, hurry up."

"I didn't say goodbye to Lyra, she must have kept asking me where I was going."

"Where's Mom's house?" ask Rizal.

"In Eddelweiss housing."

"I happened to go to a bookstore. Looks like it passed through the housing. If you don't mind, just go with my car" said Rizal.

"No, I can take a taxi."

"I'm heartbroken if you reject my good intentions" Rizal said.

"Bu-bu-not that. I just don't want to bother."

"I don't feel bothered at all. Mother would have been hard-earned to make a cake for Pure budhe and far away to take her. So, if you want me to deliver, it'll be even."

Because I felt bad, I finally accepted Rizal's offer to take me home.

I sat on the front bench next to the steering wheel. One time this car I was riding stopped at a crossroads because the traffic light was red. Coincidentally Rizal car shaped Jeep without cover on the top. So anyone can see me from the outside.

I spread my eyes out on the street until suddenly my pair of neutrals met a pair of neutrals that I knew so well. He also sat near the steering wheel of his car.

"Sir Maureen?"

"Zurais? Who is that guy? Why is her face different from your husband? Don't you cheat on me, huh?"
