My madam, my poison

My madam, my poison
An excuse

This afternoon I intend to visit Fatimah as well as my new nephew in the hospital. I took a taxi that would take me to a baby supply store. Of course I will give a special gift to Anisa.

Of the various baby supplies sold in the store, my choice fell on a cute baby blanket with rabbit ears on its head. I then asked the waiter to wrap it with cherry blossom patterned gift paper. After paying for the gift, I left the store and took a taxi back to the hospital. The journey was smooth at first until I experienced something unexpected.

"Shelf!" I could hear a loud noise from the back of the taxi. Looks like another vehicle just hit the back of the cab I was riding in. The taxi driver suddenly stepped on the brakes. I almost hit my head against the car window. Lyra, who had fallen asleep, woke up. I gave her my water before her crying broke.

I looked at the back of the car. The taxi driver checked his vehicle. Suddenly, the man in the typical taxi company uniform banged on the windshield of a white sedan car that was just behind the taxi. I think that car that just hit the back of this cab.

"Out you! Responsibility!" his yell.

Whether scared or what, the driver of the car did not get out of his car.

"I count to three. You don't come out either, I'll call the police!" threatening the taxi driver. Dare to this guy too.

"One! Two!"

Before the count to three car doors open. A middle-aged man came out of the car. He was not far from Fabian. Uh! Why do I suddenly remember him? That man has disappointed me and hurt me.

I threw my eyes back at the outside of the taxi. In the direction of the white sedan car.

"What's in your head when you drive until you hit another vehicle?"

"sorry. I don't pay attention to the road."

The taxi driver peeked briefly into the inside of the car.

"Are you driving your car while doing me*um?"

"Father, don't talk carelessly. I've already apologized."

"You think an apology can solve the problem? You have to compensate for my taxicab damage. Lookie! My car dents!' The taxi driver pointed his index finger at the back of his car.

"Ouch! How'this?" muttered the car driver.

"Please pay the damages or I'll call the police!" Again the taxi driver threatened the man.

The driver took his wallet. He then took out a piece of money in the fraction of a hundred thousand and thrust it on the taxi driver.

"What the fuck! You're mocking me!"

"Ti-ti-no, sir. I only have this kind of money. If you don't believe me, you can check my wallet." The man in the shirt thrusts his wallet at the taxi driver. But the taxi driver threw the brown wallet onto the paved road.

"Give me your phone!" call the taxi driver.

"No, Sir. If you take my cell phone, how do I communicate?"

"It's none of my business! You must take responsibility for your carelessness!"

"That's it. You can hold my ID and I ask for your mobile number. You believe in me. I will not run away from responsibility. If I already have the money, I'll call you and pay for the loss."

"Three more days we meet in this place."

The taxi driver took his phone and took a picture of the license plate.

"Remember! If you don't come in three more days, I'll take the matter to the legal track!"

"Ba-ba-alright, sir."

The man then got back in his car. Not long after the taxi driver was back on the steering wheel.

"Getting out while dating!" objurgation.

"Sorry to wait a long time" he said while reviving the engine of his vehicle.

"The car's badly damaged huh, sir?" my many.

"Lumayan, Ma'am. The driver drove while dating. So less focus."

The car that hit the back of the taxi overtakes the taxi I was riding. I looked at the steering wheel. My heart seemed to stop beating as I glimpsed the face of the woman inside. Mama! Yes, the woman sitting near the steering wheel was my mother.

"Why, Mommy?"

"I think I know the woman in the car."

Just about to increase the speed of his car, suddenly the traffic light is red. While the white sedan car was already traveling at high speed through a quiet road.

"Sorry, Ma'am. The car has gone too far, certainly will not be overtaken," said the taxi driver.

"Yes already, sir. Let's just go to the hospital" I said.

After the green traffic lights, the taxi drove back.

"Alhamdulillah, mother is alive and she is fine" I murmured.

About ten minutes later my daughter and I arrived at the hospital. I can't wait to see my nephew's face. After asking the nurse, I rushed to the post-delivery room.

"Assalamu'alaikum" I said shortly after opening the door of the room.

"Vaalaikumsalam. Zura?"

I could catch the twinkle in the eye of Fatimah when I learned of my coming. My old friend looks to be nursing his daughter.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Anisa," I said to the little baby in her arms.

"Waalaikumsalam, Auntie Zura," replied Fatimah.

"God, his face is very similar to Darren's brother" I said.

"Unfortunately Darren doesn't like Anisa."

"Don't talk like that. I'm sure Darren's just gonna need some time. We pray that God will open the door of his heart" I said.

"It's a gift for Anisa" I said as I placed the package on the table."

"You don't have to bother like this, Ra. I know you're in a difficult situation right now."

"It's okay. It's just a little gift for my nephew." I rubbed gently on Anisa's reddish cheeks. He seemed so strong that he sipped the chewy flesh that it was now his only source of life.

"Lyra can do what, Ra?" ask Fatimah.

"Tilt over her stomach."

Suddenly the door of the room opened. Apparently Darren's brother entered the room. From the look on his face I knew he didn't like my presence.

"Well, are you here?" tanyanya cynic.

"I came here to see Anisa."

"You don't care too much!" exclaimed brother Darren who subcontinent makes this chest feel so tight.

"What makes you so hate me? If I have anything wrong, I'm sorry" I said.

"You want to know your mistake?"

I prepared my heart to hear the words that my brother wanted to say.

"Since you were born, I've been treated like a stepson. Mom and Dad always obey whatever you want. Even when the fire broke out, I only thought about your safety. You didn't even know Maureen had severe burns on her face" Darren said.

"So that's why you hate me? Why do you blame destiny? I can't choose which family I was born in."

I just let the warm circles drip and wet my cheeks. Those words really make my heart ache.
