My madam, my poison

My madam, my poison
What a surprise

That morning I just got home from taking Lyra to school. When I entered my yard, I found five people I had never known before chatting with my mother on the porch.

"Assalamualaikum," said I.

"Waalaikumsalam," they said simultaneously.

"That's the owner of the convection coming," said the mother.

"Good morning, Ms. Azzura, greet them while bowing respectfully.

"Good morning."

"Yesterday we were contacted by Mr. Gibran. He offered a job in this convection" said one of them.

"Oh yeah so you guys want to work in my convection?"

"Yes, Mom."

"May I know your names?"

"I'm Budi, this is Fahmi, Herdi. And these women are named Tutik and Ani."

"Well, among you, who can sew?" my many.

"Me and Tutik, Mom," Fahmi replied.

"Let me drive to the production room. There's Seto who'll teach you what to do."

I then invited the five new employees into the production room.

"Seto, teach them in their own parts."

"Good, Mom. Oh yeah, what about Handoko? Has he not been able to get into work yet?"

"But Handoko told me that tomorrow she might start working again. With the situation now I can not put it in the cut section of the fabric maybe I will move it to the packing section," I explained. Seto nodded in understanding.

"Alright, I'll stay first."

I also left the production room.

"Are you grateful to Gibran?" ask my mom when I go into the living room.

"Thank you? What for."

"Oh my God, son. He's been looking for you a new employee, when you're gonna shut up?"

"I-I'm lazy to get in touch with him, Mom."

"It's not good to hold on to anger for too long. Now you call him and say thank you."

"But, Ma'am, …"

"Does mom have to call her?"

"Ehm .. ti-ti-no need, Mom. Let me just."

"Yes, I'm in first."

Mother passed from before me and entered into the production room.

I started calling Gibran's cell phone number. The connecting tone was indeed heard but he ignored my call.

"Is he still mad at me after last night?" muttered.

I tried to send him a message.

[To: Gibran]

[Assalamualaikum, why didn't you answer my phone?]

A few minutes passed, but I did not get a reply from him.

I also sent a message a second time.

[To Gibran]

[I'm sorry about last night's incident]

Just like the first message, the second message from me was never returned.

What's wrong with her? he doesn't usually ignore my calls or messages. Looks like Gibran is really mad at me. Come on, I let him get angry. It'll be good by itself.

"Bi Ami why?" I asked my housekeeper when I found him sweeping the dining room floor with his hands.

"It's okay, Mom. My hand was just a little sore, it seemed to be sprained when I had lifted the groceries in the market."

"What hurts so much, Bi? If it hurts, I'll take Aunt to the doctor now."

"No need, Mom. After dolesin balm later also healed."

"If you're still sick, Auntie just say let me call a masseuse."

"Good, Mom."

Suddenly my sense of smell smelled scorched from the kitchen.

"What is this, Bi?" my many.

"Astagfirullah, Mom! I forgot to fry an egg for Mr. Amin."

Bi Ami moved from the mixed-use dining room to the kitchen. He also turned off the stove.

"Other times if you turn on the stove don't leave it, Bi," I said.

"Sorry, Mom. I completely forgot."

I don't know why this incident reminds me of three years ago when my house burned down because Fabian forgot to turn off the stove while cooking water. Uh! Why should I remember the past?

"Yes, Aunt fried eggs again and told Mr. Amin to have breakfast. After breakfast I will take Mr. Amin to deliver the order to the customer."

"Good, Mom."

"Bu Zura," called for Seto who suddenly stood in the middle of the door.

"Yes, To."

"Well, after Mr. Amin finishes breakfast I will drive him right away."

The old mother came back to me.

"Have you called Gibran?" tanyakanya.

"I've contacted him many times but he didn't answer my call. He also did not return messages from me. It seems like he's really mad at me."

"You anyway, use all the cramming events. What if he's really angry and doesn't want to see you anymore?"

I don't know why my mother's words made me worry. Suddenly I was so scared that he would stay away from me.

About half an hour later I was ready to leave to deliver the order to the store owned by one of my customers.

"Looks like we should go to the gas station first, ma'am. I'm afraid this car broke down in the middle of the road" said Mr. Amin shortly after he drove my car.

"Yes, I'll call Mr. Amin."

I spread my eyes around the place. I rushed down the window glass as I looked at the face of someone I knew very well from the side. He was in line to buy fuel for his car as well.

"Silvia?"

"Eh, you, Zura. Where are you going?"

"Introduce the goods order on the customer."

The woman who was once the wife of my ex-husband smiled.

"Oh yes, I want to thank you," I said.

"Thank you for what?"

"Because you've recommended my convention to your friends. Thank God, thanks to you also my convection order this week has increased."

"Thank God then. Do you know why I recommend your convection?" tanyakanya.

I shook my head slowly.

Silvia grinned wryly.

"I think you already know why. I just want to see Fabian destroyed."

Uh! it turned out to be Silvia's reason. I think he was sincere in helping me, it turns out there is a sense of resentment behind his good attitude.

"Me first, I'll see you later."

Silvia restarts her car and passes from before me.

There are some shops I have to drop off orders today. It was too far from my home. I just got home before the Maghrib.

"Just come home, son?" ask mom as I cross the living room.

"So the street's a little jammed."

Suddenly I smelled the smell of cooking from the kitchen. From the smell it looks like Bi Ami is making rendang. Wait for. Why does bi Ami suddenly cook rendang? Who wants to visit this house?

"After I took a bath and prayed Maghrib, I wore this shirt, yes" Fina said while thrusting a piece of dress with her hijab to me.

"Why do you have to wear this shirt? I'm not going anywhere tonight" I said.

"It's okay, I just love it when you wear this shirt."

"It could be you."

I was getting confused by the behavior of the entire house when Fina suddenly invited me into her room.

"Mom try my new make up kit?"

"Why do you have to wear make up? Didn't I tell you, mom's not going anywhere.

"Ehm .. You know I majored in beauty. There is a task to decorate from school, later the results will be assessed for my report. My own time should be the model."

Although I actually objected a little, but after hearing Fina's reason I also according to her will.

"Well, if you apply makeup like yesterday" I said.

"No, Mom. The teacher at my school just asked me to decorate the model with minimalist makeup."

A few minutes later I finished. Sure enough, the results of Fina's makeup this time look more natural than the makeup last night.

I saw Vina pointing her camera at my face. She must have taken my picture to send to her school teacher.

"Eh, wait! What do you want?!" fina asked when she found me picking up the wet wipes on her dresser.

"You took a picture of mom, right? I want to remove this makeup."

"Don't! Just remove the makeup later."

"Why wait until later?"

Fina hasn't answered my question. At that moment I suddenly heard a voice from the car from the direction of the courtyard of the house.

"Who's been visiting these nights?" my many.

"Maybe Darren and his wife's son" Fina replied.

I got up from Fina's room and rushed towards the living room. I was surprised to see who was visiting that night.
