My madam, my poison

My madam, my poison
Is this my fault?

(Still on the phone)

[Sorry, is this really Mr Prayoga's number? If not, who are you? Don't accuse anyone. I have only met him once]

[Yes, right. This is Mr Prayoga's number]

[Lantas, where is he? There is something important that I always have to say]

(Heard a loud noise from across there)

[Assalamu'alaikum, Nak Zura]

[Waalaikumsalam, sir. Thank God this is your number]

[Sorry, it was my daughter who picked up her phone. I was in the back]

[Oh, so. I think I entered the wrong number]

[I'm sorry that my daughter's words may have been a little harsh]

[It's okay, sir]

[Oh yes. Is there anything Nak Zura called me these nights?]

[I had to get a call from the hospital. The nurse said she was now in the ICU]

[Astaghfirullah. Why Sabrina? Yesterday when we were there he was fine, right?]

[Nurse said from after Maghrib my mother kept screaming hysterically calling Roni's name. When the nurse tried to calm my mother down, she went so bad that she fell out of the patient's bed and was unconscious. My mother is in a coma, sir]

[Astaghfirullahaladzim]

[The nurse asked me to come to the hospital immediately. But it's already night. Especially outside it still rained. I can't take Lyra to the hospital. I ask you to come to the hospital now]

[Yes, I understand. I am going to the hospital now]

[Thank you, sir. Sorry, these nights are troublesome. Besides my father, I don't know who else to ask for help]

[It's okay, son. Don't feel so sad. From the beginning, I said I would be in charge of Sabrina]

[Thank you, sir. May Allah repay all the good of the Father]

[Amen]

[Yes, I went to the hospital first. Assalamu'alaikum]

[Capitaly]

I ended the conversation.

"Yes Rabb, protect is always the mother of the Servant. Save him, and lift up all his sicknesses" my do' in heart.

Ever since my conversation with Mr. Prayoga on the phone, this feeling has been completely unsettled. Is mom going to be okay, or, …"

Sabrina, that's my real mother's name. In my eyes, she was a mother who loved me so much. Whatever I want is always granted, one of them is when I want my seventeenth birthday party. The birthday party that was once the last birthday party celebrated in our house before it was destroyed by the fire accident was only a few days after the party took place.

*Flashback on*

"Azzura asked for a fancy birthday party like this, followed by father and mother. But, if I ask, mom and dad refuse for various reasons."

That sentence I accidentally heard was just thrown from the mouth of my sister, Maureen who was twenty years old at the time.

"Just be clear. He is the favorite son of father and mother. What he asked for must have been obeyed. I doubt it, actually we're father and mother's biological children or not. Why their treatment of us is so different from that of Azzurra" said my eldest brother, Darren. She is three years older than Maureen. Both are students at the same university.

"Why did the child have to be born in this family? Before he was, mom and dad loved us. But from the moment he was born, the attention of his father and mother was only for him" Maureen said.

"There are plans to get him out of this house" Darren said.

"But how is it going?"

Brother Darren whispered something in Maureen's ear. I don't know what they're talking about, which obviously they're planning something that's not good for me.

"You just calm down. I'll arrange everything."

I still did not move from behind the wall of the living room, where I eavesdropped on the conversation of my two brothers. I chose to be quiet and not complain to my mom or dad. The most important thing from now on is that I have to be careful.

Still so vivid in my memory one night after my birthday party. That night I was getting ready to go to sleep when the lights suddenly went out. I rushed to find a candle and lit it with a match. Everything was fine, until half an hour later I saw a shadow flashing beside my room.

"Who?" my many.

There's no answer.

"Sister Darren..Sister Maureen...What are you?" ask again.

I was curious and opened the window. The look on my face instantly turned frightened when I saw the masked man standing right in front of my bedroom window. I tried as quickly as possible to close the window of my room that was the size of that door. But I lost fast. Suddenly the man smothered my mouth and forced me out of the room. Of course I fought him. As hard as I can hold on to the window curtain. Shit, the curtain just grabbed the candle I put on the table. I saw the masked man also panicked when he saw the fire that was now starting to grow. He finally decided to just run away from my room.

The fire quickly spread and has now spread to burn my bedroom windows and bed.

"Please! A fire! The fire!" my yelling.

It seemed like all of my family members were fast asleep until none of them heard my screams.

I rushed out of my room. Immediately I approached Darren's room and Maureen's.

"Wake, Brother! The fire!" I shouted while banging on the door of their room which happened to be next to each other. The fire spread so quickly. I saw from where I was standing, my brothers' two rooms were now bright red which meant that the fire had spread in there.

From my sister's second room, I ran to my father and mother's room near the dining room.

"Dad! Mama! The fire!" my yelling.

Not long after the door opened. Thank goodness my mom and dad woke up.

"God! A fire! How can there be a fire in our house, son?" ask the father with a panicked look.

Meanwhile, the fire surrounded us from the front and back.

"We need to get out of this house!" exclaim father.

"But, well, Brother Dareen and brother Maureen are still in the room. They're not awake yet" I said.

"That's it. Let's just think about our own safety" said the mother.

"Sister Darren! Brother Maureen! Wake up! The fire!" my yelling.

This time Brother Darren heard my screams. He was able to get out of his room safely. But not with Maureen. I heard screams from inside his room.

"Maureen! Get out!"

Darren tried to push through Maureen's bedroom door. But what happened next he was hit by the burning wooden ruins and hit his back.

"Sister Darren!"

I tried to help Darren but he pulled my hand.

"Zura's! Don't come any closer! Or you'll burn! We're out of this house now!" exclaim father.

"But what about Darren and Maureen's sister?"

"That's it. Just think about our safety!"

Mom and Dad took my hand and took me out of the house. Leaving Darren's brother and Maureen's brother somehow his fate.
