My madam, my poison

My madam, my poison
Aware?

Today I plan to visit Mila at the Penitentiary. I don't care how he responds. I just wanted to show my concern, that's all.

"Good morning, sir," I said to one of the officers.

"Good morning. Can I help you?"

"I'd like to see the prisoner in Karmila's name."

"Okay, come with me."

The officer took me to the visiting room.

"Please wait here."

I circulated my gaze in that not-so-extensive room. Of the few visitors who came, my attention was on a man wearing a prisoner's shirt. If seen from his face, his age might not be far from my late father. Uh! Suddenly I remembered him.

Right in front of the man sat a woman who was feeding the man a bowl of food that he deliberately brought from home. I faintly heard their chatter.

"Mom can't wait for you to come home" said the woman.

"Patience, Mom. My father's sentence is only two years away."

"Mom's still loyal, isn't it father?" ask the man.

"Yes, Sir. I'll always wait for you."

"Have you forgiven Father?"

"Before you apologize, you have forgiven me."

"Thank you, Mom. You're lucky to have a wife like you."

The man grabbed the woman's hand and kissed her back repeatedly. Realizing that if I noticed, the man was also misbehaving. He hurried to take the woman's hand out of his. I just nodded my head while smiling at the man's attitude.

Not long after a woman wearing a prisoner's suit stood before me. Is this woman really Karmila? Why did his appearance change this way? Where is Karmila who used to look glowing and always look fashionable?

Mila who was in front of me right now was completely different from the Mila I knew. His body looks so thin, his face dull, his long hair that was always shiny black was now so messy and unkempt.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Mila," I said.

"Getishalight."

I was quite surprised by his reaction. As long as I knew him, this was the first time he answered my greetings. From the way I look at me I find neither revenge nor hatred in the look in his eyes.

"How are you, Mila?" my many.

"You saw it for yourself, didn't you? My news is getting worse" said Mila with a downcast face.

"Fabians still come to visit you a lot, don't they?" my many.

Mila smiled bitterly.

"Later Fabian rarely visited me again. I've called him many times with this Lapas phone, but he always refused."

"Maybe your husband didn't keep this Lapas phone number. He must have thought that number was just a prank number that wanted to prank him. That's why he didn't answer your phone."

"I'm not sure that's the reason."

"What do you mean?"

"I feel like Fabian's changed. At first she was so considerate of me, but now so indifferent to me."

"She must be busy with her work" I said. Oh yeah, where is Rayyan now? Did her husband send her to an orphanage?" tanyaku later.

Mila shook her head.

"Want to?"

"Mas Fabian is going to send Rayyan to an orphanage. However, Fabian tuba said that Rayyan was entrusted to a taxi driver who was completely unknown to him."

"Maybe Fabian's mind was so messed up. Moreover, he did not have a brother that he could ask for help to take care of Rayyan. That's why he accepted the offer so easily."

"May the man take good care of Rayyan" I said.

Suddenly Mila turned her eyes to Lyra who was in my arms.

"Hi, Lyra. What can you do, honey," she said.

"Lyra is learning to walk, Auntie," I said.

"Smart child," praised Mila who responded to my little daughter with a big smile.

Mila has really changed. Not only his friendly attitude, his tone now sounded a little soft.

"Oh yeah. I brought you some food," I said as I placed two bushels on the table.

"Summer, …"

"Yes. Why?"

Suddenly Mila clasped my hand tightly and looked me in the eye.

"After what I did to you, why do you still care about me?"

I can catch the look in his eyes that are now glazed.

"What happened let it happen. I'm grateful that you've changed so much now" I said. Mila responded to my remark with a knotty smile on her lips.

"How's your sewing business?"

Mila switched the conversation.

"Alhamdulillah, more and more of my customers. I also have an employee to help me."

"Thank God, I'm glad to hear it."

"I think I should go home now" I said.

"Be careful."

"Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam."

I just came out the door when suddenly my phone rang. A contact named RSJ called me. I rushed to answer the call.

[Hello, good morning]

[Good morning]

[Is this true with Mother Azzura?]

[True, with myself. What did Mom call me?]
