My madam, my poison

My madam, my poison
An excuse

I woke up at noon. I saw Mom sitting on the chair next to my bed.

"Alhamdulillah, you finally came to your senses, son. The doctor said the operation went well."

"Alhamdulillah. Am I allowed to go home, ma'am?"

"Ngapain hastily returned home. Here only until your condition is completely restored. In the convection there is Seto who takes care. She also talked to Lyra. He knows it."

"But, Ma'am, …"

"Not to argue!" firmly mom.

Suddenly the door of the room opened.

"Zura?"

"Mayra?"

Yes, it was Khumayra who entered my treatment room to deliver lunch.

"Mom's hungry, go to the cafeteria first" said the mother. He passed from before us.

"What's wrong with you, Ra? How come it's here?" mayra asked as she placed the tray on the table.

"I just had an appendectomy" I replied.

"A dead end? Since when did the disease attack you?"

"Actually the symptoms have appeared a long time ago. Maybe I ignored it too much. These symptoms have recently reappeared. I followed Zain's doctor's advice for an immediate operation" I said.

"Hopefully this operation can make you fully healed" said Mayra.

"Aamiin's."

"You need to be able to take care of your health, as well as your diet, and more importantly not to think too much."

"Ready, Sister Khumayra."

We both chuckled.

"Ehm .. May."

"What's wrong?"

"I want to tell you something."

"What's that?" My old friend frowned.

I showed her the ring on my ring finger.

"What is this, Ra? What does this mean …? Uh, you've been proposed? Who's the guy? When are you guys engaged? How come I wasn't invited," the story goes.

"The man was named Gibran. Sorry, it's not that I don't want to share my happiness with you, suddenly Gibran and his family came to my house and proposed to me."

"Oh .. so sweet. When is your wedding day? Just be careful if you don't invite me."

"God willing next month. I just want a simple event by inviting friends and close relatives. You're one of my best friends, Ra. I must have invited you."

"I'm curious about this guy named Gibran. He's so good at opening the door of your heart that's been locked with an iron trellis."

I'm reviewing the smile.

"I hesitated to get married again. I hung it up long enough."

"Lantas, what makes you so sure to take it?"

"He was so kind, understanding, and most importantly dear to Lyra. That's the reason why I'm willing to accept it" I explained.

"Well, are you crying, May?" I asked when I found a pair of my best friend's neutrals glazed over.

"I'm overwhelmed, Ra. You have been hurt because of men, now God has sent Gibran to heal your wounds."

"God is good to His servant" I said.

"Yes, now you have lunch first, then take the medicine. I still have to deliver these foods to other patients" Mayra said. I nodded in understanding.

"Again safe" Mayra said shortly before leaving my treatment room.

I had just finished my lunch, when suddenly the sound of someone knocking on the door. If it's mom, why knock on the door?

"Lake in" I said.

"Mother!"

Ah, apparently Lyra. But wait a minute. Amin's mom and dad are in this hospital? Then, who brought Lyra here?

"Darling ... Who are you here for?" my many.

"Ehm .. same uncle Giblan."

"What?! Why did you get Uncle Giblan?"

"So Lyla called Uncle Giblan. Lyla said that I was sick."

"Why do you have to tell Uncle Gibran?"

"What if Lyra told me?" said Gibran, who was standing before me. He was seen carrying a bouquet of white roses and a fruity parcel.

"K-k-you?"

"Why is that surprised? Aren't you glad I looked up?" he said while thrusting the bouquet of flowers at me. The fragrant bushes make my feelings much more comfortable.

"Bu-bu-not that. I just don't want to worry you."

"Now that we're getting married, I hope there's not even the slightest thing you're hiding from me."

The door of the room opened again. This time it was Dr. Zain who entered this room.

"Doctor Zain?"

"You, um .. wait for me to forget. You're Anita's son, aren't you?"

"His name is Uncle Giblan" Lyra explained.

"Giblans?"

"That's Gibran, Doc. This lyra has not been able to mention the letter R" Gibran said.

"Son Gibran was familiar with Zura's mother apparently" said the bespectacled doctor.

Gibran reviewed the smile.

"Azzura this is my future wife, Doc."

"Oh, congratulations then. May it all be done until the wedding day."

"Aamiin's."

"Syifa the doctor's daughter also turns out to be Lyra's school teacher," I chimed in.

"Really?"

"Yes, Uncle Doctor. Miss Gulu Syifa is very good. He likes to buy presents if Lyla can guess the pot," Lyra said.

"The world is so narrow it seems." Doctor Zain chuckled.

"Doktel, when can you come home?" asked Lyra with her innocent eyes.

"Your mother is still in the post-surgery recovery stage, so it should be contained here for a while" explained the doctor.

"Operation, Doc?" ask Gibran.

"really. Ms. Azzura just finished her appendectomy."

Gibran seemed to think for a moment.

"So, that old antibiotic, …"

"Yes, I took antibiotics. However, because my condition was not better, I decided to follow the advice of the doctor to perform the operation. I purposely hid it from you so you wouldn't worry" I said.

"I hope this is the last thing you'll hide from me" Gibran said.

I nodded my head while smiling.

"Yes, if you'll excuse me first." The doctor left my room.

"Where's granny, Mom?" ask Lyra.

"Grandma is having lunch in the cafeteria. Lyra's been eating yet?"

"Already, Mom. Was fed to Uncle Giblan."

"Lyra can't eat alone, why ask to be fed?"

"It's not him who wants it, I'm the one who wants to bribe him" Gibran replied.

"You must be spoiled near Uncle Gibran" I said.

My little girl grimaced revealing her clean and neat rows of teeth.

"City .. Lyra. When are you guys here?" ask the mother who just returned from the canteen.

"It's not long, Mom." Gibran grabbed the mother's hand and kissed the back of her hand.

"It must be Lyra who told me that Zura was hospitalized."

"Yes, Mom. Lyra called me on a landline. After feeding him lunch, we headed straight here."

"Then it's useless for Zura to keep this a secret from you" said the mother who responded with a faint smile on her lips.

"Mother, tonight Lyla can be with me, right?"

"A healthy child like you isn't good too long to be in the hospital."

"But .. Lyla wants to accompany Mom," he whined.

"Doctors will definitely not allow Lyra to stay here" I said.

"Ehm .. How about Lyra stay tonight at Uncle Gibran's house. Later Lyra can play with Uncle Keenan as well" said Gibran.

"Tonight Lyla's staying at Giblan's uncle's house, Mom. Can ya?" lyra was half-forced.

"Ehm .. Can you not?"

"Let Lyra stay at Gibran's. Isn't it nice for her to get to know her new family candidate better?"

"Yes, I let Lyra stay at Uncle Gibran's house. But Lyra promised to follow Uncle Gibran's words, and to be nice there" I said. My little girl understood.

"Thank you, Mom." Lyra then landed a soft kiss on my cheek.
