"Don't talk no" I said.
"I know Gibran's nature. From the way he looks at you, I'm sure he harbors a taste" Keenan said.
"Gibran is a band boy. It's been presti taste young and sexy girls," said I.
Keenan smiled faintly.
"A man chooses a woman to be invited to have fun when he is looking for a girlfriend. But, he'll find a good woman to be his life partner."
"For the time being I don't think in the least of all about finding a companion. I just want to focus on raising and caring for Lyra, that's all" I said.
"I'm just saying what I know. Sorry if I offended you."
"Absolutely not."
Suddenly my eyes were fixed on the rearview mirror at the front of the car. Although from a distance that is not so close, I know very well the motorcyclist.
"Fabian? Where's he going so early?" muttered.
"Why?" ask Keenan. Now he no longer calls me "the baby".
"Ehm, it's okay."
About fifteen minutes later we arrived at my hostel. I asked Keenan to pull the car over.
"Thank you" I said shortly after the door closed automatically.
"Oh yeah, can I ask you a favor?" ask Keenan.
"Solicit what please?"
"I'd like to meet the owner of this boarding house. However Gibran must be held responsible for having made this iron fence broken." Keenan pointed his index finger at the almost shapeless gate because he was hit last night by Gibran's car.
"good. I'm going to meet Ms. Leny and ask her to come here" I said.
Keenan nodded in understanding.
"I'll go first. Drug, Lyra," said Keenan, whom my little daughter responded with a wave of her hand.
"Drug, A-dad."
"Not dad, honey. Pa-man Kee-nan," I said.
"Mrs .. Nan …"
"Yes, that's better" I murmured.
"See you soon, sweetheart. Assalamu'alaikum."
"Getishalight."
The car passed from before me.
The sound of the horn surprised me a little. I who had just stepped into the courtyard where the boarding house that I had occupied almost a year also turned to look back.
"Fabian?"
The man who had been my husband then pulled off his motorcycle and approached me.
"Where are you, and who's that guy?" tanyakanya.
"I-i, …"
"It's still morning. Where did you sleep last night? Don't you stay at the man's house."
"Yes. I was staying at his house. But that's also the reason."
"What is your income from sewing not enough, until you find a side job by being a call woman?"
"So what you say! I'm not as low as you think!" my snapping.
"In the morning, a woman came home with a man. What else he did if not sell himself."
"Plac!" A slap so hard just landed on the cheek of the man I once loved so much.
"Even though I am a widow, I still have morals!" my firmness.
"So, why did you come home with her?"
"I-i, …"
"Mom Azzura!" her screech slid into my arms.
"Fine."
"I'm so worried about Mom and Lyra. Why didn't you come home all night?" ask Fina. I can catch the worry in the look in his eyes.
"When I was walking towards the clinic, I met someone who was mean to me. After a fight I finally managed to escape the man. I kept running to the clinic. The clinic was closed. I who had run out of energy because of running too long finally unconscious. I don't remember anything until I realized, I was at Keenan's house."
"Mas Keenan? What did Ibu Mas Keenan mean last night coming to our house?"
"Oh, so that guy picked you up here?" ask Keenan ketus.
"It's not so, sir. Keenan did come to this place last night but not to pick up Zura." Fina.
"Lantas, what'd that man want to come here for?"
"Bu Zura contacted Keenan because his brother had an accident. His car hit the iron fence." Fina pointed her index finger towards the gate.
"I'm sorry, I've accused you of nothing" Fabian said with a downcast face.
"We are each living. I hope you don't need to know or interfere in my personal affairs" I said.
"I-I just don't like it when you're close to another guy."
"I'm not your wife anymore. You have no right to bar me from being close to any man!"
"Zura .. I'm sorry I hurt you. I can't replace you with any woman. I want us, …"
"Fina, let's go in." I took Fina's hand and invited her into the house.
"Zura's! Waitaminute! I'm sorry!" scream Fabian. But I didn't pay attention to it. I asked Fina to close the door and lock it. Moments later I heard the roar of a motorcycle indicating that he had left my boarding house.
"Sir Fabian behaved so out of jealousy towards Mother. She doesn't like being close to other men. It looks like Mr. Fabian still loves Mom," said Fina.
"I was once so deeply in love with her, but that feeling slowly diminished as she preferred her new love. Until finally the taste is completely gone," I said.
"Did you hate Mr. Fabian?" ask Fina.
I shook my head slowly.
"There's no point in me hating him. He is Lyra's real father. I would never once teach Lyra to hate her father."
"I wonder why Mr. Fabian can turn away from his wife as well as his mother."
"Maybe our soul mate's path is over. Yet, behind everything I have experienced, I am sure that God is the best planner."
"Good mother, someday God will provide a better substitute companion than Fabian," said Fina.
"I give everything to God. If I was destined to marry only once in a lifetime, I would accept it with sincerity. Even if God brings love to my heart again, I'll be more careful because I don't want to fail twice."
Suddenly I heard a distinctive sound from the belly of the girl I had considered like her own child.
"Let's help me cook in the kitchen" I said.
Fina nodded in agreement. We walked out of the living room and into the kitchen.
"By the way, I fit Keenan mas," Fina said in between her activities slicing vegetables.
"Suit how?" I who was refining the seasoning looked at him questioningly.
"You are both kind and gentle-hearted. It's perfect to be a couple."
Suddenly I remembered Gibran's face. Although his attitude was a little harsh, I'm sure his heart was actually kind.
Uh! Why did I think of him?
