As the drizzle gets heavier, suddenly the entire lamp goes out. Kai was surprised and increasingly confused, in the light conditions he had trouble finding his way home, but now even in complete darkness.
Kai turned on the flashlight on his phone and walked down the street in front of him. No one walks or bikes past him, and Kai doesn't know who to ask, because he doesn't know the address of the house he lives in.
"Ah, fuck!" gerutu Kai was upset. How could he go too far and even forget the way back. In fact, he just walked straight, then turned to the right, to the left, and he forgot.
Thinking if he continued walking would be more difficult, what else the dark road conditions were, he decided to run a little when he saw a gazebo-like shelter made of bamboo with a thatched roof.
"Ah, wet," complains Kai while cleaning his t-shirt. He also flicked his hair forward and backward to dry.
"Hey!" yell someone behind Kai.
"Hey, what?" Kai nodded in surprise. He almost jumped from where he stood.
"Oh my god! Who're you?" ask Kai. He gawked while patting his chest softly. He almost had a heart attack after seeing a girl suddenly sitting behind him.
"I got here first. Who're you?" ask the girl back.
"You're human, right?" Kai squinted his eyes. He shone a light on the girl's face with a flashlight on his phone.
"Hey, don't be rude. You think I'm a ghost?"
"That's possible. Here nights alone when it rains and the lights go out, anyone would think you're a ghost" Kai murmured. The girl behind him seemed to care less. He hugged his knees because of the cold.
Tired of standing up, Kai decided to sit down. This not-so-wide place made Kai and the foreign girl have to share a seat. While waiting for the rain to subside, the two just remained silent and did not greet each other.
Kai continues to play mobile, he is cool surfing on his social media.
"Don't play cell phone when it rains," the girl beside him politely scolded.
"It's none of your business!" ketus Kai's.
"A lot of trees around here. It's okay if you're the only one who died by lightning, what about me?"
"If you're scared, go!" said Kai heartless.
"Ah, basic! Be stubborn!" muttered the girl.
Nearly an hour passed, both of them staying in the same place in order to avoid the heavy rain. But the electricity does not go on, maybe this is because heavy rain causes problems in certain regions to cause the electricity to go out.
As the water from the sky gradually subsided, the girl beside Kai jumped first and was about to leave. Kai, who felt like a lost child, followed the girl behind him.
"Are you following me? If you do anything, I'll scream!" the girl threatened. She was worried Kai would do something to her.
"Hey, don't be so bad! Do I look like a criminal?" ask Kai.
"Again, the identical-looking villain. You're suspicious!"
"Ah, he admitted that I am handsome," inner Kai laughed.
"Actually I'm lost, can you help me get home?" pinta Kai's. He begged for help.
"I've never seen you, are you a new resident? Your language is different too. How can you get lost?" The girl was curious.
"I just got here this afternoon. My sister-in-law bought a new, whitewashed house with a wooden fence near the health clinic. Which way should I go to get there?"
"Ah, health clinic. You're misguided, you have to go that way, just straight after there's a fork, turn left. Straight again, do not turn before seeing the house in blue, turn right. After that, turn left again in the first alley. The clinic is in sight" the girl explained.
"Straight turn left, straight turn right, straight again turn left. I will definitely get lost again," Kai murmured with a heavy sigh.
"Go," throw the girl out. He walked over and left Kai.
Since this is the first experience of his life, Kai doesn't want to take any chances. He ran after the girl who had already left and begged her to take him.
The rural conditions at nine pm turned out to be very quiet, plus the power outage made the atmosphere even more creepy for Kai.
"Please take me to the clinic. Let's just say you're an ojek, I'll pay you as the cost" Kai pleaded.
"Well if you force it!"
They walked quickly down the dark streets. There was not the slightest sound of human voices even though they had passed through many houses. It seemed like the atmosphere in the village was in stark contrast to the atmosphere where Kai came from. In the city, twenty-four hours of activity are always there, while here it is very different.
"Where's your house?" kai asked as he followed the girl who was walking quickly in front of him.
"It's none of your business! You alone, where are you from?" ask the girl back.
"It's none of your business either!" answer Kai ketus. He can also be arrogant and sell expensive.
After arriving near the clinic, the girl left Kai without receiving a paycheck.
