When the building where the wedding party was held was now empty of journalists and invited guests, Kalingga and Jojo could breathe with relief. Now only the nuclear family lives including parents Jojo and Merlinda and Johnathan who exist.
"You tired, honey?" ask Kalingga. He sat crouched down in front of Jojo and removed the fifteen-centimeter-high hight heels from his wife's legs.
"A little bit, but I'm happy" Jojo replied.
"Hmm, Honey. You're going home, right? You didn't go back to the hotel, did you?" ask Kalingga.
"Of course, honey. Do you want me to go back to the hotel?" ask Jojo back.
"Ah, don't be. We will continue our own party until nightfall" whispered Kalingga. It's nothing, Jojo's already goosebumps.
Kalingga intends to invite Jojo's parents to stay at his house for two nights, then the day after they will leave together to the hometown.
But both of Jojo's parents refused because they felt bad. What else Kalingga house inhabited with his sisters, not necessarily they also agreed to invite both parents Jojo to stay for a while.
Not wanting to be too pushy, Kalingga finally asked Jojo's private driver to drive his two in-laws back to the hotel. They've been too tired all day.
A few minutes after Jojo's parents left the party building, Merlinda collapsed. The middle-aged woman spewed fresh blood from her nose, making everyone panic and worry.
"Ma, Mama. What's going on, Ma?" ask Kai. He rushed to prop Merlinda up and put her on his lap.
"Remast it to the hospital!" johnathan's orders.
Jojo and Kalingga have not even had time to change their bridal clothes, now have to rush the lead in front of Kylan's car to go to the nearest hospital.
During the trip to the hospital, the one who never stopped calling Merlinda 'Mama' was Kai. He looked most worried and frightened.
"Why did you suddenly faint?" muttered Kalingga as he kept busy honking his car horn for the rider in front of them to give way.
Jojo silently lowered his head and agitated, a feeling of fear and worry also enveloped him.
Upon reaching the hospital, medics greeted Merlinda as she was carried by Kylan and Johnathan.
While waiting for Merlinda's examination, Jojo and the four men sat in the waiting room. Jojo felt that they should all know about Merlinda's condition. The girl slowly began to speak.
"I will say something, but you must promise to accept everything well. Do your best so that you do not regret it later," said Jojo slowly. Now Johnathan is busy in the administration room to complete patient documents.
"You know something?" ask Keenan.
"Mrs Merlinda is very ill. It's likely that his age won't be long."
"Mama" said Kai. He covered his face with both palms while continuing to look down.
"When did you know?" ask Kalingga.
"When we went to his house a few days ago. Your mom forced me not to tell you, she didn't want her kids to worry" Jojo said.
This is all Jojo can say. He has no intention of uncovering the secret behind their blood relationship, as this is not the time. Let the four men ponder over his every hatred and soften their hearts in order to make their mama happy at the height of his age.
Given how the four men were so stubborn, Jojo hesitated if they could accept the fact that they were not Merlinda's real children.
No one wanted to give an answer, the four men just kept quiet and pondered. Maybe they are considering the words of Jojo, that their attitude has been a mistake.
"She's your mother, the most meritorious person who raised you. He must have had a reason why he suddenly left you. But you know, mom always tries to be the best for her kids."
"If it wasn't for Mrs Merlinda. You will never meet me" continued Jojo.
A few minutes later, the doctor who examined Merlinda came out and found restless people waiting in front of the room.
"How's he doing, Doc?" ask Kalingga.
"The work of the heart and organs begins to decline. The patient should get intensive care, but we cannot guarantee that he will last long" explained the doctor with a lethargic face.
From a distance, Johnathan walked over. Although without being told by the doctor, Johnathan is very familiar with the condition of his wife.
"Do your best to save her, Doc. Do everything to keep our mama safe" Keenan said.
While the doctors and nurses begin moving Merlinda into the treatment room fully equipped, Kalingga and his three siblings begin talking heart to day with Johnathan.
"What really happened to Mama?" ask Kalingga.
"Complications, several times in the hospital because of swelling of the blood vessels, severe gastric infection also experienced. Your mother has all the pain" explains Johnathan.
"Why didn't anyone tell us?" ask Kylan.
"Do you guys care?" Johnathan smiled slightly. He clearly understood how the hatred of the four boys was for their mother. Although Merlinda has tried to do her best amid the pain of betrayal of the children's biological parents.
No one could give an answer, everyone looked silent and contemplated. Now Jojo embraces Kai, calming the boy down in order to be patient.
After giving a brief explanation, Johnathan was called by a doctor to sign the approval of the installation of the tool on his wife's body.
"You deserve to regret. Let's just say this is the last chance" said Jojo.
After waiting for doctors to perform all medical procedures for Merlinda, now her children are allowed to enter the room to see the condition of their mother.
Kai sat on a chair near the bed, he clasped Merlinda's hand while looking down. The boy cried in silence, not expecting it to feel this painful when he saw the person he hoped to live with him lying helplessly.
Basically, the four of them loved Merlinda very much. But because they were left alone, the hatred had long grown bigger.
"Sister, you need to go home to change. You have to rest" Keenan told Kalingga.
"We'll stay here" Jojo said.
"Go home. You can't wear a wedding dress like this in a hospital" Kylan said.
Kalingga nodded, forcing Jojo to go home with him. Johnathan asks Kalingga and Jojo to go home while, as newlyweds, they also need a break after their second big event.
