Kai's Punishment

This morning Jojo cooked some new food. He had just learned from an online cooking site. Although cooking is not his hobby, Jojo feels happy, what else if his foster children praise him.

"Well, what is this?" ask Keenan.

"It's a restaurant cuisine, brother. Balognese spaghetti" Jojo replied.

Keenan smiled faintly, although he had only slept a few hours ago, this morning he already looked neat and fresh in casual clothes. The plain white t-shirt with grey jeans is knee-length, making it very charming.

Kylan and Kai were already sitting in the dining room with Keenan, while Kalingga had yet to reveal his nostrils. Not usually the man arrived late at breakfast, making Jojo worried, because last night Kalingga had looked sad.

"Sister, do I have to catch up with Kalingga? why hasn't he left the room yet?" jojo asked Keenan.

"Kai, call brother," Keenan ordered Kaivan. Without answering, Kai immediately stood up and headed for Kalingga's room.

Not yet had Kai knocked on the door, Kalingga had already opened it. They ended up going down together even though the two did not greet each other. It seems like the mistake Kai made on Jojo really pissed Kalingga off at him.

"Sister, are you okay?" ask Jojo. Not usually Kalingga looks pale with my eyes, the man looks less healthy, but trying to hide his condition.

"Sister, it looks like you're sick" Kylan said. He also felt that Kalingga was not okay.

"It's okay, Kylan. Maybe lack of rest" replied Kalingga.

The five of them finally decided to eat. Keenan repeatedly praised Jojo's cooking skills that are getting better and better. Starting from simple dishes and now there is progress with restaurant-class menus.

Jojo felt very happy, although Kai, Kylan and even Kalingga did not show any expression, but Jojo was not surprised, they did not like to talk too much. Unlike Keenan, he always showed his familiarity with Jojo.

Kai finished his breakfast early. He did not say much, only telling his brothers if there was a need before the first lesson began.

"Wait, Kai," stop Kalingga as Kai moves out of his chair. The atmosphere was suddenly silent as Kalingga started to make a sound. Kylan and Keenan paused their eating.

"You know what your mistake was?" ask Kalingga.

"Yes, Brother. I know," replied Kai resignedly. As always, Kalingga will not let him escape unpunished if he is proven to have made a fatal mistake. What's more now everyone is aware, Kai is the main cause of two previous maids who resigned from this work at home.

"This month your pocket money is only fifty percent of your usual allowance. Try enough, do not waste and act again. Understood?" Kalingga said seriously.

"Good, Brother." Kai walked back to his room lazily. Everyone knew how the boy felt. It must not be easy for Kai to save his allowance.

Jojo feels guilty for Kai, if only he had known first why Kai hated him and Kai did, maybe he could have spoken from heart to heart with the boy. But everything is too late, Kalingga will not easily forgive his brother's mistakes.

"Sister, I'm fine. Why punish Kai like that?" jojo protest.

Keenan looked at Jojo, his eyes wide open with his head shaking faintly. He tries to signal Jojo not to defend Kai, because the boy's actions are outrageous and Kalingga will not stay silent.

"I'm her brother, she deserves to be punished for her mistake" Kalingga replied briefly.

Kalingga, Keenan and Kylan had already returned to their respective rooms, it seemed like they had to prepare to go to work. Jojo sits in the living room waiting for Kai to come out of the room.

"Kai," cried Jojo as he saw Kai walking briskly towards the main door. Kai stopped, looking at Jojo who was running after him.

"Hey, you have to bring this lunch, so there's no need to buy it" Jojo said. He handed the lunch box to Kai. The boy did not reply, only staring at Jojo with an expressionless flat face.

"No need," Kai replied as he turned his body. Unexpectedly, Jojo pulled Kai's body and opened his backpack.

"Don't refuse, this can save your pocket money" said Jojo, smiling sincerely. "I'm sorry, because of me you have to get a punishment like this" he continued.

Kai did not reply, after making sure his bag was sealed again, he walked quickly out of the house without saying anything to Jojo. Kai is the youngest child, he is still not allowed by Kalingga to drive a car, but he still gets a pretty cool motorcycle facility instead. The distance from school and home is quite far indeed requires Kai to have his own motorbike, because his three brothers will not have time to take him to school.

After the departure of Kai, Kylan and Keenan followed, they also had to leave for work. Kylan is now getting busy because he is already included in the ranks of professional photographers who have to photograph top artists.

"Son Kalingga hasn't left yet?" jojo asked Keenan.

"I think my sister is not well. Today my schedule is really tight, please take care of my brother while we go" Keenan replied.

"Hmm, fine, Brother."

"Today you have a lecture?" ask Keenan again.

"It's saturday, brother. I'm off" Jojo explained. Keenan nodded in understanding.

"Part house, yeah. I'll be home late at night again like," said Keenan. The man rubbed Jojo's hair with a smile and walked out of the house. Of all the foster children, it was only Keenan who always treated Jojo differently, if everything seemed indifferent, Keenan was different. He always asks Jojo and cares about the girl.

"Sister, you're messing with my hair" complains Jojo. Keenan did not reply, he raised one hand without turning around with a faint smile.

After making sure Keenan and Kylan had actually left, Jojo came to Kalingga in his room. Repeatedly knocking on the door, Kalingga did not open it. Jojo is worried, he decides to open it himself and enter without permission.

Approaching Kalingga who was sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed, Jojo felt the man's body and head.

"Sister, you're feverish!" jojo panicked. "Come on, move to bed," she asked. Kalingga tried to walk with Jojo who was as strong as possible to support his body.

"I'll call Keenan, we'll go to the hospital" Jojo said. As the girl was about to get up from the side of the bed, Kalingga stopped her.

"Keenan is busy, I'm fine, Jo. Don't worry" said Kalingga. "I don't want them to worry about me" he continued.

"But, Sister ...." Jojo wanted to protest, but Kalingga did not let go of his wrist.
