MY FOSTER SON

MY FOSTER SON
The house of the in-laws

Feeling uncomfortable, Jojo switches his conversation to Alvian. They chatted for almost ten minutes discussing about the work and the news of each.

Although Kalingga is aware that the man who is with Jojo has hidden feelings, Kalingga does not try to harass them.

After the two of them were satisfied chatting and Alvian was about to leave, Kalingga approached the two. Kalingga smiled kindly and greeted Alvian.

"I'm Alvian, we've been friends since childhood. Congratulations on your relationship, good luck" Alvian said.

For some reason, those words felt so disturbing Kalingga's mind. This man in front of him did not look okay, but his words sounded so sincere.

"I'm Kalingga, thank you for the prayer."

After Alvian's departure, Kalingga hugs Jojo. The feeling of jealousy and fear of loss was like a nightmare to him. The two let go of hugs after the shop customer came to buy the items.

One of the two customers who arrived seemed very happy to see Jojo after a long time. Most of them are also seductive and not shy about praising the good looks of Kalinga. The man became popular and was talked about there and here as the future son-in-law of the Narjo family.

"I'll be famous if I stay here" Kalingga whispered to Jojo. He helps mothers pack their groceries, even men are not awkward lifting sacks of rice and corn to be raised on the buyer's motorcycle.

All the buyers of the mothers who came, specifically asked Kalingga to help them. Not infrequently, Jojo felt sorry because Kalingga seemed very busy picking up items for buyers.

Today they are very busy, but both are happy and enjoy work they almost never do.

At one o'clock in the afternoon, Jojo's father and mother came and asked them to come home. Their time should be spent relaxing and taking a walk, instead of helping to keep the shop. Jojo's mother had also prepared lunch and asked her son and future daughter-in-law to come home soon.

Jojo and Kalingga finally go home, they enjoy alone time at home while watching television after lunch.

"Honey, where's Alvian's house?" ask Kalingga. Jojo turned his head and felt strange because Kalingga suddenly asked that.

"Why, Brother?"

"Just curious. He said you were friends since childhood, the house must be close from here."

"He used to live next door, right there." Jojo pointed to his friendly right side. "When his father died, they moved to the next village."

"Oh, so." Kalingga nodded in understanding. The man was curious, but felt not strong if he had to hear his heart tell him about other men.

"Have you guys been so close?" ask Kalingga again.

"Yes, we went and went to school together. He's my upperclassman, brother. He's been taking care of me since I was a kid" Jojo explained.

"He seems to like you" Kalingga murmured.

"I don't want to answer, but please stop hurting yourself, brother."

Kalingga smiled and ended his curiosity, he did not want to ruin his mood that was growing flowers blooming.

In the afternoon, Jojo again invites men to go to the rice fields to see the activities of the people while farming. The man was very enthusiastic and asked Jojo a lot of things.

When looking at a stretch of rice fields without rice plants with 'Sold' writing boards, Kalingga was interested.

"What do you think, honey. Can I buy it?" ask Kalingga. Jojo laughed, thinking that the man's question was just a joke.

"Buying this rice field? What's for?"

"Investment of old age" replied Kalingga.

Jojo ignores the man, but Kalingga records the phone number on the board. After arriving home before sunset, Kalingga unhesitatingly contacted the owner of the rice field and asked him to come to Jojo's house.

The man, without bargaining, paid cash and in the name of the rice field as Jojo's parents. He said the rice field was a gift, because it had given blessing to their relationship.

"How much money did you bring, brother?" jojo asked after dragging Kalingga into the room.

"One small suitcase" answered Kalingga.

"Why bring that kind of money?" jojo asked annoyed.

"You said this village is far from the city, it would be difficult if I needed money and wanted to buy something. So I brought a lot of cash, ", explained Kalingga. Jojo did not get out of his mind, why Kalingga could think that far.

Three days while in the village where Jojo was born, Kalingga enjoyed every precious moment. Before returning home, Kalingga even told the driver who drove him to go to the city and bought a lot of new home furniture for his future in-laws.

From wardrobes, large LED televisions, sofas, mattresses to all kinds of wall hangings. Jojo's parents make everyone in the village envious, how lucky they are to have a son-in-law as good as Kalingga. Jojo and his parents could not refuse the man's kindness, because all the goods had already reached home and Kalingga had paid for it.

"Son, thank you very much. We feel very troublesome for you" said Asri, Jojo's mother.

"No, Ma. None of this compares to your struggle to care for and raise Jojo. You guys have made Jojo a very special woman, and I couldn't have married her without your blessing" Kalingga said.

Kalingga and Jojo say goodbye, they get into the car and wave at some people standing around Jojo's parents' house.

The girl was sad that she had little time to be home, but Kalingga comforted her and promised to bring her back home if their work was free.

"Sister, did you bribe my parents with all that stuff to get them to bless us?" ask Jojo.

"Hey, without me giving it all away, they've agreed. I'm the dream daughter-in-law."

Jojo smiled and hugged Kalingga in the car, thanking him for all the kindness of Kalingga. Jojo did not expect that Kalingga would do much for his parents.
