CHAPTER 38 ~ Farewell ~

Reana came down the stairs with an innocent-faced servant girl. Mr. Malvin had sat down at the dinner table first, but the man had not touched his breakfast. He was eager to eat his breakfast with Reana.

Reana sat down before Malvin without looking at him. Mr. Malvin looked at Reana with regret.

What happened last night disturbed his mind. Mr. Malvin just wanted to foster a sense of comfort for Reana but ended up that way.

Mr. Malvin felt challenged by Reana's attitude that always debated his words. Because the man's emotions couldn't control himself, he grabbed Reana and tried to kiss her.

Mr. Malvin wants to show that he is the one in charge of everything he owns including Reana. Reana will be his wife after all, and the girl will have to submit to his wishes.

Mr. Malvin's intention was to open up. She wanted Reana to know her person better. Mr. Malvin unknowingly told me about his past. The difference of opinion between them made the atmosphere tense.

Mr. Malvin couldn't hold himself back, because Reana still couldn't be conquered. Everything Mr. Malvin gave was meaningless to Reana.

Mr. Malvin looked at Reana with sad eyes, the girl was still wearing the clothes she was wearing yesterday. Mr. Malvin grabbed his cell phone to call someone.

"Take Reana back to her boarding house" Lord Malvin orders her bodyguards.

Reana glanced at Mr. Malvin.

"Can I go home ?" automatically Reana asked to hear the words of Mr. Malvin.

"No, you go home to pack your things, our marriage is near, you have to stay in this house, there are many things to be prepared" Malvin explained quickly.

Reana took a deep breath, the girl felt there was no hope of freedom from the marriage covenant anymore. Reana's expression immediately looked sad.

Mr. Malvin looked at Reana with regret. But he couldn't do anything, he couldn't afford to lose the girl. Mr. Malvin really can't take Reana off for another man.

The waiters take care of the empty dishes, after Reana eats cheesy mushroom scramble. They replace it with a small bowl filled with fruit salad.

Mr. Malvin's servants were not just one or two people but many, and on average they were young girls. I don't know where Mr. Malvin got them all. They work for Mr. Malvin at various levels of work.

"Isn't the master surrounded by many girls, why don't you choose one of them to marry ?" reana asked as she stuck pieces of fruit in her fork.

"They mean nothing to me, they're just workers" replied Mr. Malvin, less fond of Reana's questions.

"What about the girl in the office back then, was she just a worker ? how did you gather such girls ? " tanya Reana sounded cynical.

Reana does not believe the words of Mr. Malvin who thinks all girls are the same, there is no meaning for him. Obviously the girl and Mr. Malvin look so familiar. The girl even showed off her affection with Mr. Malvin.

Mr. Malvin is getting dislikeful of Reana's questions but the man is patient. Trying to give an answer that doesn't make the girl think badly of him.

"They came to this city with a variety of dreams that could not be realized with their own abilities. I was just trying to help them make it happen, after that without me asking them to stick to me" explained Mr. Malvin very much wanted Reana to stop discussing this.

"Try to help them or use them to meet your needs sir ? " ask Reana lightly without thinking.

Mr. Malvin kicked the table, Reana was shocked. Reana's speech was considered by Mr. Malvin as an insult.

For some reason, Mr. Malvin was proud to be surrounded by beautiful women who came willingly to serve all his wishes.

But as the thought spilled out of Reana's mouth, Malvin felt humiliated, and Malvin felt Reana underestimated him, as if the man's purpose of helping was to take advantage of the girls.

Mr. Malvin clenched his hands, closed his eyes, the man tried to contain his anger. Seeing that expression Reana was frightened, the girl regretted having said such words.

"I mean they must really want you, sir, why not choose one of them to marry ? " reana was clearly trying to explain what she meant.

Implied from his words, if Reana proposed that he be free from the snare of marriage with Mr. Malvin.

"You think I'm that kind of guy ?

Men who carelessly choose girls to marry ?

Just because they were by my side and handed themselves over to me ?" mister Malvin asked as he stood closer to Reana.

Reana bowed, afraid to look into the eyes of Mr. Malvin. The girl regretted asking the question that upset the man. Reana wondered what Mr. Malvin would do. The girl was a little traumatized by last night's incident.

"If you think saying something like that can set you free from marriage, don't expect me to never cancel it" said Mr. Malvin as he moved up the stairs.

On the first rung of the ladder the man stopped his steps.

"If you don't like it, I'll take all the girls off" said Mr. Malvin as he climbed the stairs to his room.

"I don't mean it that way, I don't want anything, I don't want you to sacrifice anything for me" cried Reana standing under the stairs.

Mr. Malvin's footsteps stopped for a moment, not knowing what he was thinking, then went back up the stairs to get to his room.

The girl panicked, she did not want to accept any sacrifice from Mr. Malvin at all. Letting go of all the girls was a great sacrifice, and Reana was unwilling to accept it.

Reana took a deep breath, seeing that Mr. Malvin was not responding to her words. The man just walked into his room, getting ready to go to work.

Reana also wants to leave immediately because Mr. Malvin gave her permission to stop by her boarding house. This opportunity will be used by Reana to say goodbye to Bu Yati.

Upon arriving at the boarding house Reana changed her clothes, packed her clothes and books. Reana sat on the edge of the bed, gently rubbing the bed that became the place where the girl unwinded, her chest hurt, it was very heavy to leave this room.

Reana plans to stay in this room until she finishes college, even when she gets a job, the girl still wants to stay in this room.

But fate says otherwise, his wish to remain in his favorite room must be extinct until here.

"Are you sure of your decision, son ?" ask Bu Yati worried.

Mr. Malvin had met Ms. Yati earlier, telling her of their wedding plans. So is the intention of Mr. Malvin to bring Reana to live with him.

Bu Yati was very surprised to hear Mr. Malvin's explanation. Not even believing, ma'am Yati wanted to hear directly from Reana's mouth. That's why Mr. Malvin gave Reana permission to go home.

Reana bowed at Miss Yati's question. If to be honest, the girl would never be willing to marry Mr. Malvin, but circumstances forced her to make that decision.

"You are too young, your future is long. Why do you suddenly want to get married ? If Mr. Malvin really loves you he should be able to wait. Or.. lest you have been... pregnant?" ask Bu Yati hesitating.

"No ma'am, really, I'm not like that. I just can't refuse Mr. Malvin's request, that's all" Reana replied, not wanting Bu Yati to think badly of her.

"Well, if this is your decision. If you look, Mr. Malvin is a good man, polite, well-established, and very handsome, it is very difficult to find a better person than Mr. Malvin" said Bu Yati agreed.

The girl sobbed, mother Yati found it strange to see Reana's attitude. The girl cried bitterly as if she felt unwilling.

Finally, Bu Yati thought maybe because Reana was too young, so still gamang to step into the marriage stage.

Mr. Malvin was eager to marry her. And the girl does not want to lose a handsome man who must be adored by many people, that's the thought of Ms. Yati.

Reana decided to leave immediately after asking Bu Yati to pray for her. Bu Yati took off Reana with a heavy heart, the girl was already like her own biological child.

Reana also asks Bu Yati to help her explain to the other hostesses and say hi to them. Bu Yati responded to Reana's request.

Reana was escorted by the guards to the campus because they had to follow the lecture, while a travel bag containing clothes and books was left to the guards to be taken home to Mr. Malvin's house.

Reana attended the lecture with a floating mind. The girl daydreamed a lot, both courses she attended today, none of which Reana really followed seriously.

Even until the lecture ended, Reana still had a gloomy face. Now the girl hopes to have the courage to run away.

With a downcast face Reana stepped towards the campus parking lot, where Mr. Malvin's bodyguards had been waiting for her.

Suddenly someone held his hand. Nico stood before him with mixed feelings of anxiety, disappointment and anger.

"Where have you been all this time ? I'm looking for you, I'm waiting for you, why can you be together with Mr Malvin ? " cried Nico emotion.

Reana wonders how Nico can find out himself with Mr. Malvin, but the girl just silently looks at Nico's face with longing.

In his heart this was probably the last chance for him to stare at the face of the man who had filled his heart.

Nico shook Reana's shoulder which was just speechless. The girl shed tears. Nico frantically wonders what happened to Reana.

The girl still did not reply, why could she be together with Mr. Malvin. Even more hurtful to Nico, Reana just hangs up the phone while talking to him.

"Reana, I beg you to speak, say something" Nico cried increasingly in panic.

"Sister, don't see me anymore, I can't see my sister anymore, I'm sorry" Reana said, wanting to leave in front of Nico.

Nico blocks the girl's steps, she doesn't accept Reana leaving without explaining to her.

"Please let me go" Reana said.

Reana cries while trying to let go of Nico's hand. The man was astonished by Reana's demeanor that looked so sad, scared and panicked.

"What's going on ? tell me what happened ? all I know is that our relationship has improved, you have forgiven me, you have forgiven our misunderstanding, then why are you avoiding me now ? " ask Nico bertubi.

"Sorry brother, I can't be with sister Nico anymore" that's all Reana said, the girl was leaving again.

"Tell me what is the reason ? why can't we be together? " nico shouted frantically at Reana's words.

"I'm getting married, I decided to marry Mr. Malvin" Reana said with tears streaming down the street.

Finally Reana said those words. Words that he himself did not want to say. But the girl had to do it, so Nico wouldn't look for her anymore.

Nico was stunned, not believing Reana's words. But Reana's expression that showed her being serious with her words made Nico wonder.

"What did he do to you ? why did you have to marry her ?"ask Nico to panic.

"He didn't do anything" Reana said.

"Reana, we can sue her and send her to jail if she does something bad to you, you don't have to marry her" Nico said with sadness.

"It's not like that" Reana said, refuting Nico's remarks.

"I'll take responsibility, believe all this because of my mistake, I can't take care of you, but please Reana, don't leave me, don't marry her, don't Reana" nico shed tears.

For the second time the man cried because of Reana, he did not care to be judged as a crybaby man. The thing he feared the most was in sight, namely separation from Reana.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Nico, but I have accepted Mr. Malvin's proposal, I have decided to marry him" Reana said in tears as she walked away from Nico.

In front of them were waiting for the guards to pick up Reana. Seeing that Nico immediately pulled Reana's hand and took her away. But Reana shook her hand.

Nico can't believe this is really happening, the girl refuses to go with him.

"He forced you to marry him ?" ask Nico.

Reana shakes.

"She gave me a choice, and I chose to marry her, forgive me sister Nico" Reana said as she walked towards the bodyguards.

"Please Miss Reana" said a bodyguard opening the car door for Reana.

Reana stops, the girl takes off the necklace Nico gave her and returns it.

"I'm sorry Brother Nico" Reana said tearfully.

The girl grabbed Nico's hand and placed her given necklace on the man's palm. Then turn around to walk to the car.

"No Reana, please don't go... Reana" shouted Nico trying to get close to Reana.

Four bodyguards block Nico, prompting them not to stop him from pursuing Reana.

But the guards stayed behind against Nico. Once they were sure Reana got into the car, they let her.

The guards who stopped Nico from getting into the other car. They drove at the same time.

Nico tries to chase after the car that brought Reana. The man called out the girl's name. Reana covered her ears with both hands.

Unable to hear Reana's sad cry Nico called her name. Along the way Reana was crying. The guards could only silently hear the girl's roaring cry.
