Me, What It Is

Me, What It Is
CHAPTER 29 ~ Your Travelling ~

Reana walks alone to her class. Today Nico has no activities on campus, having escorted Reana. Nico went to the company where the man did the research, retrieving the data needed for the purposes of completing his script.

As usual Reana walked down, today felt different. Without Nico beside her, Reana felt like the first time she entered the University.

Alone, without friends, sometimes Reana thinks, why can't she mingle with other students.

How can Reana blend in with them ? everyday they hang out together, laugh together, tell stories of the exciting experiences they had together.

Meanwhile, Reana, some of the days on campus are only spent in the library completing tasks from lecturers while waiting for work hours at the restaurant. Reana has no time to relax.

It's sad, it's a sad life, it's good times on campus, it's a teen carving out sweet memories of being a college student.

For Reana everything just passed. Pathetic ? Reana doesn't think it's all that sad. Because the more miserable days he's had.

As Papa Reana was slowly lowered into the burrow, it was the saddest moment for Reana.

It was the most painful parting.

Because after that there would never be another chance for him, looking into the shady eyes, hearing the words of wisdom, and the soothing embrace of the middle-aged man.

Half a day stifled around the mourners. The sobs, condolences, and do'a-do'a spoken by those who came were completely ignored by Reana.

Reana still can't believe her papa left just like that, with no signs, no messages or words. Reana looked at the pale face of the middle-aged man.

There was not a single tear dripping in her eyes The girl still wished her father would open his eyes and smile at her.

He didn't want to cry, he didn't want to grieve, he just wanted to wait for his father to wake up from his sleep. Tears will only show that Reana accepts her father has left her body.

Despite the back rub, the comforting remark, the embrace of condolence still kept coming at him. The girl still did not want to shed tears.

"Papa did not die aunty, papa just slept" the words, often uttered whenever people he knew embraced the teenage girl's pity.

"Don't cry Om, papa is fine, papa is just tired, papa just wants a short break" said the girl who is still sitting in the third grade of Junior High School.

The cries of the people around the girl were heard filling the room, some came out unable to hear the girl's words anymore, some came to give understanding, mothers who immediately embraced Reana.

Reana just looked at her mother, the middle-aged beautiful woman just nodded, confirming the words of her only daughter.

The woman did not want to ditch the girl's hope, even though it was impossible. But the tears of Bu Ridha Lia proved that the woman believed in the departure of the man she loved so much.

But moments like that can't last long. Waiting for her papa to wake up can't be done by Reana forever.

Slowly people began to arrive, step by step the organization of the body began to be done until the end of the funeral procession.

Reana ran over to her papa burrow. The girl did not willingly, red earth fell on her papa's body. The girl was crying so much.

Some people held the girl back and asked her to come home, but Reana refused, not wanting people to keep burying her papa.

Mama Reana herself could only cry staring at her daughter, the middle-aged woman stood weakly aided by the neighboring mothers.

"Reana, son, if you're still in the way, they'll tell you to go home. You can not accompany your father until the last moment" said Bu Ridha finally begging his son to accept the reality.

Finally Reana resigned, half-heartedly believing her father had left the world. It's just that the girl doesn't want to accept the truth.

The sobs of the mother and child accompanied the funeral procession to completion, slowly the people began to leave the cemetery.

Reana leaned on Bu Ridha, the middle-aged woman stroking her son's hair. From now on, Bu Ridha must be stronger for the sake of his child. The mother who had a soft face did not want to dissolve in grief, she had to wake up for the future of her child.

But a week later the mother who sometimes still cried alone in the middle of the night had to face another ordeal.

The cooperation company that Reana built with some friends during his college was declared bankrupt.

The company was unable to pay its debt because it failed when investments to increase production, excessive expansion, uncontrolled spending and mismanagement of the company.

To survive and avoid bankruptcy the company releases the product and sells it at a much cheaper price. Losses are reduced but paying debts on third parties is difficult to do.

The company has been sued bankruptcy by the lender if the company cannot pay the loan obligation then the lender seized the company's assets to pay off its obligations.

All the treasure in the name of Papa Reana did not escape the target. A few cowards make Papa Reana the scapegoat for bankruptcy.

People in the company also argued, papa Reana suffered a heart attack because he could not face all the allegations.

Reana and Bu Ridha had to give up all their property, they left with only a few clothes. Bu Ridha decided to return to his hometown, the house of Reana's grandfather can still be their shelter.

Because of her fortitude and for the future of her son, Bu Ridha rose again, became a canteen mother at a High School in her village. Reana did not hesitate to help her mother from morning until the cafeteria closed.

The girl helped her mother during her break. Reana, who was born beautiful, often faced temptation from male students who came to her cafeteria.

Although no longer concerned about appearance, Reana's natural beauty remains a magnet for male students.

"No need to help my mother in the cafeteria, you study diligently in class" said Bu Ridha, not wanting her daughter seduced by male students.

"No ma, Reana can't be a mama working alone. Don't worry ma, even though they are sometimes naughty but never cross the line of politeness really" said Reana chimed in on her mother's anxiety.

Of course those kids wouldn't dare to be so presumptuous of Reana. Because his mother is there and Ridha Lia is a name that is quite respected by the school device.

All of this is thanks to her kindness. Ridha Lia who has set aside her savings to help the school operations, and help children who cannot afford to stay in school there.

Reana has since become an independent child. Doing any halal work to meet the needs of both of them. Reana did not want to burden her mother. And Bu Ridha believed fully in Reana.

Until finally the girl decided to continue college and live alone, Bu Ridha although heavy, finally willingly let go of her son to fight alone for the future and ideals of her favorite daughter.

"Re.. tumben own way, where's Brother Nico?" sapa Alika aligns her steps with Reana.

Reana just smiled. The people on campus had already heard of the relationship between Reana and Nico. Some believe they're dating, some deny Nico likes a simple girl like Reana.

The whispers of the girls on campus are developing in no direction. Plus the motto where Reana is there is Nico.

Nico never let Reana alone. The guy was like Reana's bodyguard.

"Hasbi.." said Alika suddenly.

Reana waits for the continuation of Alika's words, but Alika just silently looks down.

"Hasbi why Al?" ask Reana curiously.

"It's okay, you'll know later" replied Alika, increasingly making Reana curious.

Arriving in Reana's class immediately looked at the lecture table that Hasbi used to occupy. Doesn't look Hasbi there. Since the incident in front of the restaurant, Reana and Hasbi no longer talk much. The man only treated Reana as the leader of his class no more than that.

In addition, Reana also did not want to stand between Hasbi and Alika. Reana chose to step aside instead of hurting Alika with her presence in their midst.

"Please pay attention to your friends" said Alika, suddenly standing in front of the class.

The class that had been boisterous was suddenly silent.

"Today, after college we will vote for the election of the new chairman and vice chairman of the class" said Alika bowed.

"Hasbi is no longer studying here" continued Alika.

"And I also want to resign from the position of vice-chairman of the class" continued Alika, stepping back to her college desk.

Reana was shocked by Alika's announcement just now. The girl wanted to ask Alika immediately. But Alika's expression that looks sad makes Reana urung ask further, plus soon the lecturer will be in to start college.

Reana can't wait to talk to Alika. During the lecture Reana did not concentrate at all, as well as other students, they were very curious to know the cause of Hasbi's exit from this campus.

As soon as the lecturer finished giving the lecture, a vote was taken. Alika dropped out of the classroom, Reana immediately chased after the girl.

"Reana don't come out, we vote first" one girl shouted holding back Reana's steps.

"Sorry I have to go, I vote the most" Reana said rushing after Alika.

"Al.. wait, please don't go first, why Al ? why did Hasbi get off this campus ?" reana asked with a deep breath.

Alika looked at Reana, the face of Reana who was still shocked by the news. Reana really wanted to know why Hasbi left. Alika pulls Reana's hand, takes her away.

Reana shook her hand. He wanted an explanation from Alika.

"Why Al ?" ask Reana again.

"If you want to know, come with me" said Alika as she walked to the park behind the campus.

Reana was astonished but followed Alika's steps. Arriving at the wooden lesehan Alika sat there. Reana followed him sitting next to Alika. Waiting for the girl to talk.

Alika looked at the building beside the park, looking at a window. Her eyes glazed over, Reana waited patiently. The girl's hand gently caressed Alika's back.

Reana knows, the person who is most sad about the departure of Hasbi is Alika.

"Do you see that glass window on the third floor? " asked Alika while pointing at a glass window right in front of them.

Reana follows Alika's index direction.

"That's the window glass of the BEM secretariat" said Alika still looking at the window.

Reana was shocked, she did not expect it at all. The BEM secretariat is in the building, and Hasbi is the BEM chairman of their faculty.

"Every time I see Hasbi staring through the window, and every time I see sadness on his face" Alika began the story.

"I asked him why he always looked at the window, but he always dodged, rushing to get me out of it"

Reana listened to Alika carefully.

"Until one day, I quietly stood behind him and looked at what he saw.

At that time I just knew, the thing that made him sad every time he looked at the window was you" said Alika stopped, her throat felt choked.

"If I knew how she felt so deeply about you, I'd give it up for you Re.

I'm going to take it... Tell Re... Tell me you refused it not because of me" Alika said in tears.

"I'm sorry to force my love on her, if I knew she'd suffered so much.

I will give up Re.., I will give up" Alika said still crying.

Unknowingly Reana's tears flowed, the girl couldn't stand every time she saw people crying, let alone all this having something to do with her. Reana really doesn't like to see her loved ones sad.

"From that window, I saw you with Brother Nico, you look happy, you are studying together with him, you laugh together while Hasbi shed tears" alika recalled what she saw at that time.

Every time to the secretariat, all Hasbi did first was look at that window. Wishing to see the girl he had always missed. But every time he was disappointed.

Every time there's Reana every time there's a Nico next to her. It all started when Hasbi saw Reana crying herself in the wood under the big tree.

Hasbi who just arrived at the secretariat immediately went after Reana who was seen crying. The man even chose to go down the stairs because he could not wait for the elevator.

But upon arrival, the man sees Nico hugging Reana, Hasbi is late. Hasbi's always late. His desire to help and comfort Reana always preceded Nico.

The man was frustrated, but still did not discourage his heart to look at the park beside the building. For her, that was where she could look at Reana at any moment, even though the sight often hurt her.

"The highlight was yesterday afternoon, when it was the saddest moment I've ever seen.

Hasbi was sitting under the window, the man was crying, Hasbi was sobbing.

I thought about what he saw, but I really wanted to see what caused Hasbi to cry so sadly.

He prevented me from approaching, he even snapped and chased me out, what is Re ? what did you guys do that he was so shaken ?" alika asked while shaking Reana's hand.

Reana looked at the window. The girl covered her mouth with both hands. Reana remembered something, the girl's tears were rushing.

Yesterday afternoon, Hasbi was there, Hasbi was standing there, and Reana covered her face with both hands.

Hasbi looked at us, Hasbi must have seen us kissing in the maze, Reana's heart scream shook her head strongly, her hands still covering her face.

The girl was sorry.

Why are you standing there, why not avoid, why should you look at us ? reana's heart screams.

Reana had not expected all this time Hasbi was watching her from behind that window. And yesterday's incident really hurt the man's heart. The girl he so desperately wished for had opened his heart to another man.

Kissing right in front of him. Hasbi could no longer face that reality. He chooses to leave, leaving his hopes on the only girl who can make him feel in love.

I'm sorry Hasbi, I'm sorry, Reana screamed.

Alika hugs Reana, despite not getting an answer from the girl, but Alika understands Reana also feels a deep sadness for Hasbi's departure.
