Lara's Admirers

Lara's Admirers
Episode 15's

At the end of this year there are so many miracles in my life. Whether it's a miracle I want, or the other way around. One by one, the miracles came without ever being expected. Like magic that silently penetrates. Will there be another miracle today? Does the universe want to give me a surprise back? For the umpteenth time.

If calculated from our anniversary date, it is still too short indeed. Just a week ago. The age is still young. Only seven days. I don't know if this number will increase over time, or it may end soon.

"Burning wood is collected here." Said Mr. Novri.

Me and my two old friends were cleaning up this fish and chicken. Too much for a three-man worker like us. But, oh, what else. It was an hour past the appointed hour. It should have been three in the afternoon, all the members had already arrived. But I didn't see him from earlier. Is he not coming? I shouldn't expect too much from a guy like him.

After my work was completed, we were immediately mobbed by the other students. Junior is more precise. They're junior class ten. One force under us. Collecting signatures from the seniors is a hereditary thing we have done since the first batch. I was in their position once. I remember the first time I talked to Brother Sendy. When I asked for his autograph. And that's where our first dialogue took place. There's not much we're talking about. It was just a senior to a junior at that time. I still keep the paper with the signature. I tucked it inside my binder so it wouldn't get scattered. I don't know if he still has a love letter from me or not. Letters that were all juniors were required to write one love letter and hate letter each. A letter I had deliberately addressed to him at that time. Maybe at this time the letter has been smashed to nothing in the landfill. Ah, forget it.

"Sister, I asked for dong's autograph." Said one of the juniors who was quite familiar with me.

"By yuk." I reply.

"Well, what if that brother were the same." He pointed at someone.

My eyes follow the direction of his index finger. And it leads to.... Uh, wait a minute. Isn't that Sendy's sister? Since when he was there. Is he always lost and present as he pleases? Like jailangkung only. Then I nodded my head.

"Can't you get his autograph?"

Sendy's sister who was busy struggling with her cellphone finally raised her head to find out who was inviting her to talk. He turned to me for a moment, then began to put his signature on the paper with those sky-blue stripes. His face was flat, ordinary. Even when I was right in front of him. I did the same thing. Pretending not to know. Yes, we should not do that for no reason. No marching band kid should know about our relationship. He didn't want me to be insulted like that. After all, this is not something hard to do for us. We were used to this, even before there was any connection between us.

"Sister, if I'm honest, it's actually a handsome brother." A junior who is one year easier than me.

"Hehe, thanks. A lot of people say big brother." Reply Brother Sendy.

He seemed to smile with satisfaction when someone praised him like he had just. He even smiled as he glanced at me. I wish I was jealous of that. Although it is undeniable that I am jealous, but I do not want to show it.

"Definitely a pretty sister's boyfriend. Same with brother."

"Yes dong. Sister's boyfriend is pretty, well, not arrogant. Sok cuek same brother when caring."

"That's lucky big brother had a girlfriend like her. Who the hell is his name."

"I'm a spectator of the story?" My word.

The man in front of me was just grinning indistinctly. You know, maybe he's really crazy.

It's twelve o'clock by now. It means now is the inauguration of the juniors. We were gathered in the field. The ranks of the seniors and juniors were deliberately separated. Because there will be a tool delivery session from senior to junior symbolically. I represent the seniors who hold Bell's tools to hand over to juniors. And Sendy is the same. He also represents the seniors who hold Tom's tools. We stand at the front row. Even though we didn't stand next to each other, at least being a representative made us quite happy. Beside me, there are still two representatives from Snare and Simbal. So we can't be next to each other. But yes it is. After all during the training we also never stood next to each other.

The inauguration ceremony process takes place wisely and smoothly until the end. Thank God nothing we didn't want to happen. The next event is the bonfire. As soon as the bonfire lit, we were so enthusiastic. The fire lit up about two meters high. As usual, we immediately formed a large circle. Suddenly a hand pulled my hand from behind and held it tightly. Spontaneously I looked back.

"Udah was told to join hands. Look at that." Said a man next to me who was none other than Brother Sendy. To prove his words just now, I immediately saw the other members. Which turned out to be true has been holding each other's hands since. But, since when have I stood beside this man.

One by one the words of the greeting were read. We grew tired of the monotonous words that seemed stiff and the words never changed from year to year. Next entered the impression event and message from the alumni. At our annual event this time, we had several alumni from the first batch. Which he said was a famous killer.

"Okay my sisters, the impression and message of brother tonight is a night of joy. Tonight's a story-filled night, but not a night of falling in love. Tonight we take care of each other, not each other." Said one of the alumni from the first generation who I did not have time to know what his name was.

I looked towards Brother Sendy. Staring worriedly. I don't think our relationship will last long after hearing the brother's words just now. The man also seemed to be aware as I watched him anxiously.

"Quiet down. Trust the cave." He said confidently without looking at me.

I immediately turned my face away from her. Look straight ahead again. Trying to forget those pretty piercing words just now.

Ezi's brother immediately picked up a guitar from inside the sanggar. To fill out the show tonight, we sang together which will be accompanied by an acoustic guitar game from Kak Ezi. Supposedly, Brother Sendy could have stood there too. He is good at playing guitar. But he seemed reluctant to leave me here alone.

Almost every song they sing is a song. Moreover, it is an Indonesian song. Not infrequently I do not sing and prefer silence. Because I did not know and did not memorize the lyrics, in addition I was a Kpopers who more often listen to pop genre music from ginseng country.

But even though I didn't sing, I felt like I could feel the meaning of this song.

"Are they all so upset that there's no other song to sing except a bad song?" I murmured in my heart.
