We, Without Me

We, Without Me
Sacred Promise

A flash of anger shot out sharply from Yuki's pair of eyeballs. It spreads into a thin dew of disappointment in the eye pelt. Yuki's jaw was hardened, his teeth were clenched with his hands firmly clenched on the sides of the body. Everything that was okay turned gripping.

"Didn't you see my mama? You don't see Mama fighting between life and death? Mama's condition is not stable, Mama! You can talk about our marriage. Accelerated?! Crazy ... You're selfish you know!!?"

"Darling ...."

"Go!" Yuki's eyes were staring at Keven. His hands stretched out straight pushing the rough of Keven's chest.

In an instant Yuki turned around. Rough stomping of the earth being trampled. Close your ears tightly with both palms. Cussing echoes from the creaking footsteps of his foot that broke the eardrum.

"Sa-s"

"GO!!!" yuki shouted out loudly without turning her head in the slightest towards Keven. He continued to walk away with disappointment.

"Darling me first!" exclaim Keven while blocking Yuki's footsteps. Gently gripping the shoulder of the girl who was shaken by her emotions. Brave to cling tightly to the rebellious Yuki with hysterical screams. Heed the blasting of fist fists on the back.

"You're evil! You haven't changed. You're selfish! I hate you, Mom!"

"Please listen to me first."

"No! We can wait until Mama's healed."

"Yes, but ...."

"Surge!! Release me! Stayin me! We better not get married. Go on!! Go ye! Don't you care about me or Mama anymore!"

"No, honey .. please, listen to my explanation first."

"I don't want to! I just don't want to!"

Yuki kelu's tongue. Throat's choked. His head seemed to be hit by a godam until it turned around and lost its footing.

Once again the fragile Yuki in Keven's arms. Trying to break free and anger through a blow that gradually weakens. In fact, the man continued to tighten the entanglement and gave a gentle swipe for Yuki to calm down.

"I don't want to believe it either. Please, darling, excuse me,” regret Keven.

“Ng-no. I-I don't want to. Mama must not be serious. I don't want to marry here. It's impossible, By.” Yuki's girder is strong. His head slowly stuck to Keven's chest. Gently restrained with a loving swab in the crib. The rebellious hand no longer beat Keven, but squeezed on the side of the body as Keven's chest-silenced roar shrank.

True, the lips that say hate are not able to force the heart and body to hit Keven. Although it is in the mind still confused. Mama Maria's stammering speech imprints vividly on memory, confounding logic and ravaging ever-bursting fear.

Ever since the old woman had regained consciousness, it had been a few days since Yuki's first meeting with Mama Maria. Not only Keven, but Yuki himself also knows if accelerating the marriage is the request of Mama Maria. The woman seemed to signal ready to close the end of the story of her journey. And Yuki hates that.

From a distance Papa Gibran breathed a rough breath. His eyes could not help but look at the pair of young people who had deliberately chosen a silent passageway, seriously talking ended up clashing their mouths near the morgue area.

The morning was still pretty quiet. Not many patients arrived. What else is passing by near the morgue area.

...----------------...

“Pick up your parents,” Papa Gibran's orders.

“But Pa..,” sela Keven hesitated while looking down at Yuki. The girl stared blankly at the wall in front of her.

“Go home now and take care of your wedding documents. I want Yuki you to marry officially. You must have understood what to do,” Papa Gibran stressed to Keven.

“Papa what the hell?! Why do I tell Mas Keven to get married fast?!” yuki sewot. Spontaneously stood up and stared at Papa Gibran fiercely.

“Your must be in operation immediately. Before that you were married.”

“Schedule Mama's operation soon. Why do we have to get married so quickly? We can wait until Mama recovers. I want Mama to come and enjoy a little show at my wedding, Pa. Not like gini!”

“It's not that easy, Pa,” refutes Yuki.

“Papa has submitted this request to the hospital. Time you guys get to the day after tomorrow. Go home and take care of everything.”

“Pa!!” yuki's cry with round eyes did not accept.

“Please take care of Yuki,” said Papa Gibran seriously. Immediately looked straight at Yuki and then said, “you're coming with Keven. Today also home!”

Back Yuki sat himself down in despair. Rubbing his face rough. Sighing long breaths of burden. For a moment his pupils were trailing at the shadow of Papa Gibran who passed away.

“Please stay away. I want to be alone,” pinta Yuki frustrated. Putting Keven's arm around his shoulder.

Currently, neither Yuki nor Keven had much time. Taking care of wedding documents is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. Especially if the wedding must take place in the near future, not even a week away, just three days from now.

“By,” call Yuki clean on Keven who sits two benches on the left side. He struggled enough with his own mind.

"Come," Yuki said again as Keven crouched down before her. A smile full of despair.

Keven eye pupil reflexes widen. He grabs Yuki's hand and holds it together. "You sure?"

Yuki nodded. “Iya, come.”

Relented, Yuki looked up at the clear sky. Opening the helmet visor so that his wet eyes dry up. For a moment he chuckled incessantly at such a great destiny. Shaking all the fortitude that almost made him lose.

A day.

Two days.

Every minute missed does not escape with worry. Every step that is swung cannot be separated from the burden of sadness.

Both are busy hunting for marriage approval. Go back and forth to take care of a recommendation application letter and marriage dispensation permit for holding a marriage outside the territory of residence at once held less than 10 days after marriage registration is done.

But who would have thought that the perfunctory preparations were delivering Yuki and Keven at a sacred event attended only by parents from both sides. Of course with Mama Maria lying weakly on top of the gurney.

Without fancy dress and makeup. Without a coat and shiny shoes. Even without a new pair of rings that both are designed to buy together.

'Don't cry, Yuki! Don't cry! Strong! You strong! I need to make my mom happy, not stressed. Don't make Mama worry.'

Yuki lowered her gaze. Holding back the crying that was pressed deeply. His heart was bitter to find the hard-earned Mama Maria trying to glance at him. Although the old woman had difficulty speaking and was completely unable to move her limbs.

Right after the pair of human children were back to tie the sacred promise of marriage. Circling the previous wedding ring. Yuki's fear seems to be coming true. Mama Maria breathed her last breath.

"Doctor!!" everyone, except Yuki.

The mood has turned chaotic. Everything was pushed back so that the Doctor on duty was more free. All actions are being pursued. But it was clearly all in vain.

That day Mama Maria was supposed to be in surgery. That day too Yuki should still be worried about the old, weak and helpless figure fighting on the cold table. But the reality before the eyes is an empty body without life.

"Darling? Hey, Honey?!" call Keven in panic at Yuki who is squeezing and almost slumped.

The girl was no longer able to cry. His voice disappeared like it was swallowed. The body that had pecked with a blank look was hollow, a second later fainted in Keven's embrace.
