The Vampire King's Storage Waiter

The Vampire King's Storage Waiter
Chapter 96. Traitors

"Duke Edmund? What are you doing in front of my room? Where are the guards?"

Floretta stopped her footsteps, when she saw a man in official royal clothes pacing back and forth in front of her room in a huff. The man who was turning his back on Floretta also slowly turned his tall body. Now he looked at the princess with his sharp brown eyes.

"I've come to negotiate with you, Your Majesty." Edmund bowed his back, to salute Floretta.

"What negotiations?" floretta said in a low voice, afraid to be heard by Alden.

The man only smirked, as he looked at Floretta's frightened face. His footsteps were getting closer, continuing to roar towards the princess who was still motionless.

"Edmund, don't scare him like that. A waiter said you were looking for me." Alden who had just arrived, broke the tense atmosphere between Floretta and Edmund.

"Leave us both" said the king in a stern tone to the woman in the silver dress.

Floretta obeyed. He walked to his secret room on the first floor. But her heart wondered what Edmund was going to talk about with her husband. Is it about Floretta who's about to escape into the human world?

"We'll just talk in my private room."

After Floretta left, Alden took Edmund to a room with a minimalist modern design that was dominant in white. There wasn't much furniture in the room. There is only one set of gray sofas, a bookcase and ornamental plants, as well as a mini aquarium with colorful small fish.

"Sit down, what do you want to talk about?I heard you told the waiter to clean up the moon rock shards in my room?" ask Alden.

"He's not a servant, Your Majesty. He was a family of Amethyst, Erlina's man" Edmund said. "They are now working out a plan to overthrow His Majesty's throne. We must quickly lift up a queen, "the man continued.

"Is your word trustworthy? Aren't you on their side?" alden's comments are still in disbelief. He frowned, when he heard the words that came from the mouth of his enemy.

"I have not yet accepted, a man becomes the queen of this land. But I don't want to have a war like the old days either. The Amethyst noble family is preparing Novac as king."

"Novac?" Alden lifted his head and looked at Edmund's face, to make sure that the man wasn't lying.

"Yes. Erlina took her revenge on His Majesty, and wanted to avenge him in this way," Edmund explained. "More than half of the palace's advisory council is also on their side" the brown-eyed man continued.

"If it's about the palace's advisory council, I've known for a long time. They only have lips in front of me. Both of my parents also died because of them" Alden replied with a sad face. Being a king means bearing the burden of the whole kingdom.

"Although the servants I have been silent, but the matter of His Majesty's recovered health will definitely spread quickly. Then they make a new plan. We better hasten the test of the queen-to-be, and strengthen the strength" Edmund proposed.

"What do you want?" alden said in a cold voice.

"Huh?" Edmund opened his eyes in confusion.

"You definitely don't do this with your bare hands, do you? What do you want from me?" firmly Alden.

Edmund was silent. He came here without thinking of any plan. All he has in his head is revenge on the friends who betrayed him.

"Are you really sincere about siding with us?" alden asked after a few seconds of silence.

"I don't know myself. I am only on the side of a group that can be trusted and not betrayed" Edmund replied doubtfully.

"Hm, okay. As for the queen's expedited exam I agree. But the thing is, is Floretta ready to do it? It's not like a test in the human world, the results of which can be manipulated" Alden said anxiously.

"Your Majesty, Princess Floretta has gone through all the exams well. Especially with his figure as a grand magician at this time. She was the perfect queen candidate for this country" Edmund said.

Alden laughed at the words. "Duke Edmund, you're not licking me, are you?" The man still did not fully trust the Grey royalty before him.

"Take that," Edmund replied, not dismissing the accusation of the vampire king. "But I think more about my job as the chairman of the palace council. I have to make sure this kingdom stays calm without any war" he added, linking his eyebrows together.

Alden was speechless as he looked at the man who a moment ago was still his enemy.

"Are my letters of recommendation still not enough to help Princess Floretta become a queen?" edmund said later.

"I think that's enough. We have to do it quickly, before the opposition takes control of the palace. I hope you can hold your words, Duke Edmund," Alden said.

...🦇🦇🦇...

"Is something bothering you, Your Majesty? Ever since the meeting with Duke Edmund, His Majesty has always been restless" Floretta said anxiously.

Alden turned his body, then sat on the sofa beside his wife. "Flo, you're ready for the queen-to-be exam, right?" said it.

"What's? It's clearly not yet. I haven't had time to learn at all" Floretta quickly replied.

Alden responded to the wife's answer with only an intense and intraditional look.

"What happened, really? Didn't His Majesty persuade the palace's advisory council to appoint Prince Raven as king?" floretta said a few moments later.

Alden then told me everything, without a single thing being covered up. "Is Edmund trustworthy?" asked Alden while frowning.

Floretta sighed softly, then exhaled back. "Of course, I still can't trust you, Your Majesty, either" he said softly.

Alden was not surprised to hear the slipping sentence of the beautiful woman. But his face bowed sadly, knowing that his wife had kept a little distance from him today. Since then, she has heard Floretta call her "Your Majesty", not "honey" or "you" as usual.

"But shouldn't this be discussed with the advisory board? How can Your Majesty decide alone?" said Floretta again.
