The Vampire King's Storage Waiter

The Vampire King's Storage Waiter
Chapter 41. Consort Candidate

"All right."

All the nobles there smiled, hearing a word coming out of Floretta's tiny lips. That means victory is on their side, and this man will step aside into the human world.

Floretta stuck out her right hand, and offered her a marriage annulment letter to the vampire king. Edmund greeted the letter with a face.

Srak! Suddenly Floretta ripped up a letter that had not been touched by the chairman of the palace council.

"Floretta! Don't do that!"

The male voice shriveled from the direction of the door, making all the gazes turn to it.

"His Majesty the King?" floretta muttered in a flat tone.

The woman was not surprised anymore, seeing the arrival of the husband there. The servants have definitely reported, where he went this morning.

"Basic women j*l*ng! What did you just do?" Russell rebukes the princess, no matter if there's a vampire king there.

Alden who saw it all froze in the place where he stood. His head was still digesting, what just happened. Didn't Floretta come to hand over their marriage annulment papers?

"Just because I'm human, do you think I'm innocent and stupid?" Floretta spoke, looking at the entire council one by one.

"I've checked all the assets you want to give me, as compensation for signing this letter. And everything is fictitious" the princess continued.

"Damn it! How did he check all that? Did he ask Alden for help?" grouse Daisy Krimson in heart.

The councillors could not say much more, as the great vampire king had been in the room with them.

"Oh yes, dear. You said, 'don't do that.' You forbid me to tear the paper, or forbid me to give you the letter?" Floretta spoke in a spoiled tone to the husband.

"Darling? This is the first time he's called me darling." Alden's heart flowered, hearing those words.

"Of course I forbid you to hand over the letter. Like you said, they can't be trusted" Alden said moments later.

Floretta smiled with satisfaction, hearing the answer from the husband. "I will not step down as queen. Do you think that your degree is much higher than that of man, just because it can drink the blood of our people?" said Floretta with a big grin.

"Which law?" cut Floretta in a satirical tone.

"From all the laws that I read, a queen must be physically and mentally fit, able to pass through the trials of the future queen, and also willing to accompany the king under any circumstances. There's not a single law that says a future vampire queen must be a vampire."

Alden the vampire king smiled, hearing Floretta's explanation just now. "I don't think I picked the wrong queen. He was really smart and brave" Alden whispered inwardly.

On the contrary, the members of the council were grumbling with annoyance.

"Crazy girl! He investigated everything to such a detail?" daisy muttered when she heard Floretta's words.

"I'm not a crazy woman, Duchees Daisy. I just want to find out, is my marriage with His Majesty the King a forbidden thing?" Floretta retaliated

Daisy grumbled in annoyance, being rebuked directly by Floretta like that. He did not expect, that humans who have very limited hearing, can hear his voice that has a very low intonation.

"There is no such written rule. But the queen who is fit to protect this country, certainly a vampire who already understands this world very well," Russel replied in a gentle tone, to persuade Floretta to change her mind.

"I think that His Majesty staying here will only cause heartache, because it could be that His Majesty's position will go down, become a concubine," Daisy continued.

Alden gasped in shock, hearing Daisy's blunt words. While Floretta glanced at Alden sharply. This was not the first time he had heard that phrase.

"That's it, stop all your bullshit. This meeting is not valid, because you are carrying it out secretly without my knowledge and the court's counsel" Alden ordered unequivocally.

"Alright, we'll stop for a while" Edmund said as he rose from his seat.

"I hope Your Majesty has no regrets, if one day all our words will come true. Moreover, the rival of Her Highness the Princess is a beautiful woman, a friend of His Highness the King of small age," continued the young man from the Grey family again.

"Originally, Your Majesty knows that all vampires are manipulative and unbelievable" Edmund whispered.

"Grey, you're too close to my wife!" reprimand Alden with a clash.
