The Vampire King's Storage Waiter

The Vampire King's Storage Waiter
Chapters 30. The Reason You Chosen Me

“You must meet the members of the council alone. It's very dangerous" Alden said. "We don't know what they're going to do next" the man continued with an anxious face.

Floretta smiled slightly, then clasped her husband's hand. "You don't worry. I dare to face them alone, really," he said.

"I know you're brave. But it's not a mess, Flo. They must have deliberately searched for time when I wasn't here, so I could do anything to you. Very devious," Alden replied while cursing annoyed.

"Try to remember again. Why did you choose me to be queen?" Floretta.

Alden listened to his wife's question. He had a thousand reasons to marry that girl. But he did not know, what reason the wife wanted to hear at this time.

"Huh, don't you remember? I was disappointed, though. Maybe you were just talking to persuade me at the time" Floretta said a few moments later.

"I-I remember, anyway. You are beautiful, smart and kind," Alden replied with origin. Alden breathed a sigh of relief, as Floretta's face returned with a smile.

"Well, now I've decided to stay here with you. So problems like this will definitely happen again later," Floretta explained his opinion.

"So you mean?"

"Yes, I must be prepared for the worst conditions in the kingdom if the ingim is with you. Including facing the members of the council alone," Floretta said again.

Alden smiled at his wife's wise reply. "I feel like I've chosen a woman who is too perfect, to be with me," Alden murmured as if talking to himself.

"But alas, they are far more dangerous than the councilors in the human world. It's possible that they will insult you all out, and all their talk is intentional to knock us down mentally" Alden continued. He looked at his wife's face with sadness.

"I see what you mean. But we can't avoid it anymore, can we?" Floretta returned the husband's gaze with affection, until the man was mistaken.

"I promise to keep myself safe during that meeting. Then they couldn't possibly kill me so much in the meeting room, right? Believe, baby. I'll be fine" Floretta said in a whisper.

"A-ah, yes of course they will not dare to kill the future queen just like that. Although most people in this country disagree, but it is still a criminal act."

Alden turned his gaze away from the wife, then spooned the still-unfinished piece of meat into his mouth. But because he was nervous and in a hurry, finally the piece of meat was tucked at the base of his throat, and made the vampire king choke.

Floretta chuckled at her husband's behavior, giving him water to drink. "It turns out even the vampire king can feel salting, yes," he murmured inwardly.

"But I'm curious about something, are all the members of the palace council our political opponents? Or are they like this just because you're married to a human?" floretta asked curiously, after they finished breakfast.

"There are actually five highest noble families in this kingdom. The Black family (black), the Blanche family (white), the Amethyst family (purple), the Krimsom family (Red) and the Grey family (Grey)" Alden replied.

"Well, I just found out. Is the Black family the highest noble?" floretta said enthusiastically.

Alden nodded. "Since my great-grandfather succeeded in uniting this kingdom, the Black family became the supreme noble. Then the second highest noble is Blanche, my mother's family," Alden said.

"But the Black family is now wiped out due to a political war. All that's left is me and my brother, prince Raven," the man continued.

"Then the Queen's Majesty's family?" ask Floretta.

He has not seen the Alden family, other than the photos of the vampire king's father and mother on the internet and the photos are displayed in every corner of the palace. Alden never told Floretta about his family.

Floretta's face turned a little grim. Both his eyebrows went down. "Now I understand a little why you chose me" whispered Floretta softly.

"Why?" Alden frowned not understanding.

"Because our circumstances are not much different. It's been left by a dear family" Floretta replied. His voice sounded trembling, like holding back a cry.

Alden turned his eyes away, so that Floretta would not see his teary eyes.

...🦇🦇🦇...

"Sister, are you still busy?" Alden sat next to Raven, who was busy checking the kingdom's financial data.

"What's this about? This arrogant Vampire King Tumben came to see me and was being sweet? Do you still want to ask me to accept Floretta as queen?" allusion Raven.

The single man who was the vampire's scramble for the woman, closed his laptop. He pulled up his chair, and faced the vampire king.

"No. This time I asked my brother for help" Alden replied.

"My help? Tumben you asked for my help? What can a cruel vampire like me do?" raven said still with a satirical tone.

"I'm going out of the country tomorrow for a few days" Alden said.

"Then? Don't you have a minister and hundreds of palace employees, to handle your work?" reply Raven ogah-ogahan.

"This is not the palace's job as usual. Only you can do it" Alden said. "I want my sister to take care of Floretta, as long as I'm gone" he continued.

"What's? I didn't hear wrong? You want to ask the man who hurt your wife, to look after her?" Raven laughed out loud.

"Ah, I know. You want to mock me this way, right?" keep Raven on the sidelines of his laughter.

"I'm serious, brother. Two more days there will be an official meeting of Floretta with the members of the palace council. I'm worried about leaving Floretta alone" Alden replied with a serious face.

"So I was told to accompany the weak man, at a council meeting later? You know, I don't like being ruled by you like that. As if I were your shadow." Raven again refused the request.

"Sister doesn't have to do that. Just make sure that Floretta is doing well" Alden explained.

"Sister is the only family I have. So it's just brother, the person I trust. I believe that night you didn't really want to kill Floretta" Alden assured him.

Raven stood up from her seat, then walked over to the side of the window that showed a snowstorm out there. The entire courtyard of the palace was covered in pure white ice crystals. Cold air that burst through the vent, making the man also raise the heating temperature.

"Why should I do all that? Just because we're siblings?" raven said a moment later.

"I should be glad that your future queen died at the hands of the court councillors. Because if you don't have a companion, my opponent as king will get bigger," continued Raven while laughing loosely.
