Using his bicycle, Paul left his home, to carry out his duties; to find ten men who were to be used as a place to immerse the firefly spirit, who was now in a jar, and the jar is kept in the bonnet.
Even from the beginning, Paul actually realized that to get ten humans was not as easy as finding cats that roamed the streets. Because what he will face is a human being, who has a mind and a mind. They couldn't have answered 'okay, I want to' when offered by Paul, because humans aren't that stupid, who freely give their bodies to others. That's very, very impossible.
Therefore, Paul had to carefully plan who and where the humans are roughly suitable to be used as a container for the spirits he brought. But, Paul also should not carelessly choose people, because the person he will choose will carry out a heavier task, which is to become a hero, as he heard from Roswel. But Paul also did not really understand what good it is to be a hero in this modern era, which seems peaceful and prosperous, even if there is a crime, not so dangerous.
While thinking about all that, Paul continued to pedal his bike, he took shortcuts to the narrow alleys between the establishment of tall buildings, rather than having to cycle on the highway. The reason may be because Paul does not want to look flashy in public. However, Paul also actually still did not determine his purpose to go where now, he was still confused.
Until finally, Paul decided to stop by for a while to a shop to fill his rumbling stomach. The store stands on the side of the road, which allows its customers to enjoy the view of the city is quite crowded. After ordering a burger and hot chocolate milk at a waiter, Paul waited for his order at a table with two empty seats facing each other. Paul's presence in the tavern was quite eye-catching for other customers, as he carried a jar filled with colorful fireflies, which made anyone want to see it.
"Your order has arrived, a burger and a glass of hot chocolate milk, right?"
A short, dark blue-haired young man's servant, came to the table where Paul was staying, delivering the food he had ordered. Then, the waiter placed the food and drink on the table that Paul was sitting at, very carefully. Finished doing his job, the waiter smiled at Paul.
"Good fun with our meal."
Hearing him, Paul simply nodded, then he directly touched his burger to get himself ravenous. However, strangely enough, the servant was still standing in front of Paul's desk, not leaving in front of him. The waiter continued to smile at Paul, leaving the man astonished.
"Can you get out of front of me?"
Feeling uncomfortable, Paul finally told the waiter to let the man go from his presence. But unfortunately, as if the servant had not heard Paul's command, the man stood before him, responding, "It looks like you're carrying something so beautiful, I'm so fascinated to see it."
"Huh?" Paul furrowed both eyebrows, until he realized that what made the waiter not go was because he was interested in the jar that he currently stored in an empty chair. "You'd better go, 'cause I hate being stared at while eating."
"Ah, sorry for my impoliteness, I'm really sorry."
Then, the blue-haired maid bent her body and walked away from Paul.
After finishing his order, Paul went to the cashier's desk to pay, and then he left the store to return to continue his journey. However, as Paul was about to get on his bike, he realized something.
"The tables!"
Paul immediately ran fast, went back into the store to pick up his lost jar at the table he occupied. And when Paul came to the table he was sitting on, the jar he was supposed to keep there disappeared. Not only that, the table was clean again, which means some servants must have cleaned the table. Which means, they must have brought Paul's jar to the dishwasher because they thought it was part of the store's equipment.
After thinking about it, Paul went straight to where the waiters worked. Paul's arrival to the room left the servants who were busy working, surprised at the same time. They were shocked because someone who was not a part of them went inside.
Ignoring all the shocked gazes from the servants, Paul immediately shouted at all of them, "Have any of you picked up a jar filled with fireflies on table number three!?"
And simultaneously, after hearing that, the servants looked at each other with their co-workers at the side, until they finally shook their heads together. Not as expected, Paul exclaimed again with more specific words.
"In that case, where is the dishwasher!? Get me there!"
"Better you stay here, son!" One of the maidservants in her forties responded to Paul. "Let me look for that jar in the wash."
Paul understood and he was willing to wait, and a few minutes later, the maid returned with nothing in either hand.
"I've been looking everywhere but still haven't found the jar you mean, son! Are you sure your jar missed in our shop? It's probably you-"
Disappointed, Paul grieved, then he asked the servants again with a more decisive question. "Where is the short-haired young man's maid in deep blue!? I'm sure! Must be the one who took my jar!"
"What do you mean?" Surprisingly, the person Paul was referring to suddenly stood behind him, in a cold voice.
Paul turned his body to face the man. "Come to you too! So, you take where my jar is, damn it!"
"Tables? Wait a minute, hmm... Oho! A jar containing fireflies, huh?" The dark blue haired man began to understand what Paul meant. "Just relax, I've got the jar in a safe place! But I freed the fireflies, it's okay, right? Because they seemed to suffer in a jar, I could not bear it, so I opened the jar outside the store and finally they flew high in all directions! I'm glad to see them free! But there seemed to be one firefly flying through my chest, and I felt something strange inside my body until now!"
Hearing the explanation from the dark blue-haired maid made both of Paul's eyes widen in shock. "You-you! M-Take them out of the jar!? D-And there's a firefly coming inside! T-Your body!?"
Paul stuttered to say it, he was very annoyed at the behavior of the dark blue-haired maid. The man casually took out the firefly that Paul was guarding, from the jar he was carrying. It was very desirable for Paul to hit the man's face, but he was also astonished to hear about one of the fireflies entering the body of the servant.
"I know you must be mad at me for freeing your pet firefly from the jar, but come on! They need freedom like humans! Let them live free! So don't be mad at me!"
The other waiters who watched Paul arguing with one of their co-workers, made the kitchen atmosphere where they worked, so rowdy and noisy. Not a suitable place to argue, Paul pulled the blue-haired maid's right arm out of the tavern, going to a more suitable place so as not to disturb others.
Some customers who were eating the food were amazed to see Paul out of the kitchen by pulling the arm of a waiter towards the exit, it became the talk of some customers.
"Hey!? Why did you bring me here!?" the blue-haired maid asked with a stern face after she was taken by Paul to the parking lot.
"Just shut up!" paul snarled in annoyance. "Right now answer! You just told me that your body felt something strange after being entered by one of the fireflies, so, what strange thing is that!? Tell me!"
"Oh! You're curious about that, yeah!" The waiter smiled wryly at Paul. "So, now my body feels lighter and lighter than usual! But I'm wondering, why are you even more curious about that? It could have been just my hallucination, because where there might be an animal that could pierce through my chest! Ahaha!"
"What's your name! Hurry along! Say it!"
Paul seemed to be in a hurry as he spoke, making the waiter astonished at his behavior. "Eh? Why suddenly you-"
"HAVE SAID IT QUICKLY!"
"All right!" the waiter said, then began to answer Paul's question. "Hercolin. That's my name. But I've always been called Colin, by a lot of people. But my parents prefer to call me with-"
"Include! I'm Paul! From this moment! I will be your mentor! Colin!"
Hearing Paul say so, made Colin go silent for a few seconds until he finally tilted his head, confused. "My mentors?"
Right now, what Paul had in mind was; he had already found a human chosen by one of the fireflies. In addition, about the other fireflies that had flown freely, Paul did not think much about it. Because he wants to focus first on Colin.
"Hey? What does it mean to be my mentor?" colin asked with a serious look on Paul's face.
