MINERVO 03: Disappearance of Something Precious

Geck! Geck! Geck!

Suddenly a knock came from the front door of his house, making Paul who was daydreaming, immediately aghast to hear it.

"Excuse meiiii! Is there anyone? Anu, I'm Paul's classmate, Olivia, come here with Paul's cradle bag left behind in class!"

"Damn! Why did that girl come!" Paul looks unhappy when he finds out that a girl named Olivia is coming to his house.

Forced, Paul finally came down from his room, to meet Olivia who was standing at the door of his house, on the other hand, he also did not want if until his mother who opened the door for the girl, he also did not want to, because according to him, it would be very troublesome.

"Yes? What's the matter, Olivia?" paul said after he opened the door to his house, meeting the wavy black haired girl, who was standing holding a green backpack owned by Paul.

Instantly, Olivia's face reddened as her eyes looked at Paul, she lowered her head, hiding her face. Then, in a slightly nervous voice, Olivia said, "I-I came here just to return your bag that was left behind in class." Olivia with trembling hands gave the bag she was holding to Paul.

Paul immediately accepted, but he felt something was different from Olivia's attitude. According to Paul, this time, Olivia looks shy, but usually the girl is very chatty and annoying. Is there anything that makes Olivia turn out that way? Could his mood be bad? The more he thought about it, the more dizzy Paul's head became.

Rather than continue to confuse him, Paul also ventured to ask Olivia directly about it. "I thought, there's something strange about what you're doing today, Olivia."

Like being struck by lightning, Olivia's heart skipped a beat when she heard the question, it seemed, she was confused by herself until she could be this weird, even though she only talked to Paul alone. Maybe, because earlier, he heard bad rumors from his friends in class, who said that Paul had been officially expelled from school. Making Olivia's initially mediocre feelings for Paul, so shaken and shocked.

"E-Eh!? What are you talking about, Paul? I'm fine, you know!" Olivia instantly built her carefree smile on Paul." So you don't have to worry about me, it's just that" all of a sudden, the carefree smile on Olivia's face slowly thinned out and finally disappeared, replaced by a sad gloomy face. "Hey, Paul. Tell me. Is that true. That you were expelled from school?"

Olivia's tone was suppressed as she posed the question to Paul, accompanied by a serious look in her eyes, while looking at the face of the black-haired young man in front of her. However, faintly, the girl's eyeballs looked teary as if she wanted to shed tears, but she still held it in the moment.

"It's none of your business."

Leisurely, Paul answered the question in a cold tone. Because of his current thoughts; what would be the matter if he was expelled from school? After all it was his own business, others did not need to interfere. That is why, Paul so little sentiment if anyone asks him that. Not that he hated, but he was only uncomfortable with people who liked to interfere.

Meanwhile, Olivia's eyes immediately widened to hear Paul's rude answer. As expected, there must be something behind this matter, Olivia felt, she had to dismantle everything so that Paul would not be expelled from school. It is his responsibility as the class president, to help his classmates who are affected by a problem, let alone the problem this time is directly related to the principal.

Clenching her hands together, Olivia told Paul, with a serious face. "Don't worry, Paul. I promise, no matter what problems you're facing right now, I'll help you! Anyway, I'll-"

"Now you can go, thank you for bringing me my bag."

Lazy to hear the words of encouragement that sounded stupid, Paul immediately cut it off and tried to drive Olivia away with a cold tone. Making Olivia who heard him surprised, it was unexpected that his good intentions, who wanted to help Paul not to be expelled from school, were not received kindly by the burly man.

"I'm sorry?" Olivia still could not believe it, you see, only this time she felt humiliated like this. "Did you kick me out?"

Finally, Olivia understood after seeing Paul's attitude towards her. It is fitting that the headmaster took this man out, even from the way he spoke, Paul was impressed exactly like a delinquent, had no manners, was rude, immoral, had no feelings, was irritating, he was just like that, and all sorts of other junk stuff. The girl became a little sorry for wanting to help Paul, she became very irritated.

"All right, I'm leaving."

Because her heart was injured, Olivia immediately turned her body, she also deliberately waving her dark hair wavy, until making her hair slap Paul's face hard. Then, he stepped out of his feet, leaving in front of the man with the big hair. Paul did not realize it, if in fact, when Olivia turned her body, the girl shed her tears in silence.

"Based on a noisy girl."

Paul went back into his room, kept his school green bag in the closet, and he lifted his head to look at the fireflies flying on the ceiling of his room, but,

"Eh!? They disappeared!"

The fireflies were supposed to be inside, flying freely on the ceiling of his room, but now they don't exist. Disappeared. No traces. Making Paul so panicked, he was in the fog looking for the existence of the tiny spirit in every corner of his room, but the results were still nil. Though the windows of the rooms were tightly shut, and besides, there were no more holes in the walls that could make them fly out. Even when she met Olivia, she had already closed the door of her room tightly, so she was very sure, they could not possibly come out in a closed door.

"Did you see the flying fireflies hanging around here!?"

Quickly Paul ran to the kitchen, met his mother who was busy frying something. Paul's breath was panting, so panicked. It could be bad if the ten spirits disappeared, he could be exposed to more severe problems than just being expelled from his school.

"What's? Fireflies? Since when do you keep a firefly, Paul!?"

"Already mom! Quickly answer! You see it or not!?"

"No."

Without further ado, Paul ran away, leaving his mother confused by his behavior, to go outside, looking for the fireflies. It was possible that they had accidentally discovered a gap that could make it fly outside, who knows so. That's why Paul had to find him as soon as possible, before the magicians like Roswel knew this.

However, the results are not much different, still nil. Although Paul had searched every location in his yard, he even secretly searched for it in the backyard of his neighbor's house, and the results were the same. So now, where else does he have to go? Moreover, considering the body shape of a firefly is very small, it will be very difficult to find it.

Instantly, both of his calves trembled and fell to the ground, his clothes and trousers already dirty, stricken with dust and mud. Not only that, his feelings also become restless, chaotic, upset, fed up, and confused.

Buk up!

Exasperated, Paul punched the ground until the back of his right hand was scuffed. Ends. Everything is over. There was nothing else he could hope for in this world. The school had taken him out, the family was already disappointed in him, his peers had already shunned him, and now, something he should have taken care of, had disappeared from his sight.

When Paul was desperate, resigned, had no spirit, and thought he wanted to end his life this very second, he suddenly remembered someone's face
