Adira was silent hearing that. For a while he narrowed his eyes at Firda, as if to find out the truth of his words. Before he finally grinned.
“You are absolutely amazing. Apparently all this time you know everything but choose silence.” Adira clicked her tongue as if annoyed.
Hurry Firda shook her head. “Why is your conclusion like that? I'm just—“
“That's a compliment,” cut Adira. “I'm really amazed at your analytical skills. Maybe I should have entrusted everything to you in the first place.”
Firda blinked his eyes while scratching his nape misbehaving. “You're overreacting.”
Adira just nodded slowly before taking a deep breath. “Back to the topic earlier. I really thought that my family would come, or even be on the way here. That's why, I really want to go up here.”
“To see the situation behind the wall?” ask Firda carefully.
“True once,” replied Adira quickly. “Of course besides, I think that this place is a great place to survive because there are no zombies here. But most of my intention was to look outside, or if possible, jump over this wall and escape this Playground for good.”
“There's nothing wrong with that.” Firda sighed while turning his head to the right and left. Relaxes muscles that feel very tense. “Although it was almost wretched, we really did not meet a single zombie here.”
Adira crept her fingers firmly, trying to hold back the anxiety that began to accumulate in her heart. “I agree. But I was still disappointed, because I thought .. I thought that even if I couldn't get through this wall, at least I might see people trying to help us. That maybe my family was stuck because no officer would open the second gate for them. It turns out ..all we see behind this wall are just dozens of vehicles that just stumble without the owner.”
Hearing that, Firda's reflexes looked back. Once again confirm the truth of Adira's words. As far as the eye can see, there is not a single living creature in the parking lot of the Cakrabuana Playground, not even wild cats exist. Although the two of them did not say it, Firda was sure that they thought the same. That most likely no one is trying to save them here. That maybe people out there prefer to enjoy their own days rather than bother to help people who are trapped in a zombie attack that occurs without warning.
That it could be, in the end the authorities will take shortcuts to solve all these problems. Like ... blow up the Cakrabuana Playground for example?
Hurrying Firda shook her head. ‘Cannot be! Of the many humans trapped in this place, surely at least more than half have families waiting for them to come home. Those families won't let anyone blow this place up.’ Firda took a deep breath. ‘Including my family and the Adira family. They must be looking for a way to save us, right?’
“They must have come,” chirps Firda then. “Hold my words. We will soon meet our family. Sooner or later. Our current task is only to survive until that moment arrives.”
Firda thought Adira would immediately respond to his words with a sniffle. Like ‘Then I also know!’ or ‘Iya, but how do we survive? No one knows when they will come.’ However, in reality, none of his conjectures became real. Adira seemed to be smiling while patting her own clothes.
“You're right. It would be unfortunate if we give up, even though there are many people who are trying to save us,” said Adira softly. Then he looked at Firda. “So, you think, what should we do now, Fir?”
Firda raised his eyebrows towards Adira. “You actually already know, right, if I want to get down from here immediately?”
“Wait! Why that?” firda protested with a frown. “Why do I feel like you're taking revenge on me, instead of praising me?”
“I'm really praising you! I could swear!” Adira answered loudly. Showed his self-righteousness. However, he could not help the small laugh that escaped his lips.
“Ah! You laughed! Right, right, you're pranking me!”
“No it's not true!”
“Do not lie!”
This time Adira really laughed out loud seeing the panic on Firda's face. “Alright, alright. I was indeed judging you. A tad. But I mean it too when I say I'll obey you. I'm so tired. I don't want to think much at least for the next few hours.”
“Huh! Just say you want to show me how difficult it is to lead the journey.” Firda snorted, but not too long later she revealed a faint smile. “I understand. In that case, come on, we'll find a way to get down.” immediately
Adira nodded her head and cautiously stood back on the wall. “We'd better just go back to where we climbed earlier.”
“Not that we've gone too far to go back?” Firda frowned in confusion.
“No. We're walking too slow until we haven't traveled that far. Try look!” Adira pointed to one of the large trees that grew slightly clinging to the walls of the Cakrabuana Playground. “That's the tree we climbed earlier. Right, guys? I still remember the shape of her horrible branches. I did not want to climb it for fear that one of the twigs would stab my body.”
Firda's mouth was open. “We both did suck,” complained before he finally stretched his hand to the side. Trying to keep his body in balance as he walked through the wall.
Right behind her, Adira did the same. The difference is, sometimes the girl pulls her hand to gently hit the shoulder or other body parts that are sick. Apparently his position that had hung to hold onto the wall tormented almost his entire body. Adira could only resignedly imagine that he had to continue to endure all that pain until he made it out of the Playground safely.
It didn't take long for them to get to their destination. Maybe because they are getting used to being at a height so that there is no longer much to stop because of fear. Firda himself no longer complains much. He deftly sat down on the wall when he was near the big tree they were talking about. Slowly stick out her legs to reach for the nearest branch that looks strong enough to hold her body weight.
“Wait! Just stop! adira said suddenly while holding Firda's knee. Preventing the girl from going down.
Firda was about to raise his protest when he heard a growl that no longer sounded foreign in the ear.
