The Monster In Me

The Monster In Me
Uneasily

“Can't we take turns? Isn't it boring just to be quiet waiting?”

Danita looked towards the source of the voice. Found a woman in her 40s staring at him expectantly. Danita then crumpled her fingers with misbehavior, she really did not know how to answer questions from her senior.

It would be a pity if they traveled a long distance just to sit and watch. Ensuring news from students who are splitting up ride various rides through chat groups on the green app. However, they should have been prepared, because actually their purpose was to become supervisors. Even their travel expenses come from student parents' donations.

Not that they have no chance at all to have fun. As the senior teacher suggested, they could have gone in turns. Merely, Danita had absolutely no intention of leaving her current place.

“Certainly can,” replied Danita finally. He glanced at the nearby exit gate before looking back at his senior. “But I'm here only. Who knows there kids looking for me.”

Even though until a few minutes ago, when Danita checked her class chat group, absolutely no students sent messages. It seemed that they were all really enjoying the day without worrying about anything. However, Danita still felt uneasy. It was as if he let his guard down a little, something bad would happen to his disciple.

Therefore, despite having to suppress her own desires, Danita will dedicate her time to staying awake, and only buy a few drinks and snacks for her to replenish her energy.

Five out of ten teachers finally left. Most of them were young teachers who still had great zeal and energy. Danita was the only young teacher to remain, but she did not bother about it at all. He remained sitting comfortably in the gazebo next to the shopping center. Where he could see the mascot statue of the Playground very clearly.

“Hot once today,” murmured slowly while sipping a bottle of cold orange drink that he had just bought. Both of his eyes narrowed as he tried to look towards the sky. A day that seemed so bright should have made his heart become calmer. Because all the plans will be messed up if it rains.

“Young time is fun. The students must not feel hot at all and continue to run to and fro,” said another Teacher beside him.

Danita just nodded her head while showing a faint smile. He really didn't want to talk much today.

He was just about to go back to check his phone when he suddenly heard a commotion. Many visitors seemed to point in the same direction, making the young teacher reflexively turn his head. Both eyes widened after knowing what was the center of attention at this time.

A thick smoke seemed to be billowing into the air. It forms a fairly dark shadow around it. The distance is not too far, but also not too close to Danita's current position. Whether because of the trick in her eyes or not, Danita seemed to be able to feel the air around her getting hotter after seeing how thick and thick the smoke was.

“It's a Flower Park. Looks like a fire there.” Danita heard one of the visitors say confidently. “I just visited the place. Seeing the arid and unkempt condition, I don't think it's strange if the fire is easily ignited.”

Sontak Danita stood up and started walking closer to the location of the fire. However, the senior teachers who were with him held him back while saying tranquilizing sentences. Not helpful at all. Danita is getting more nervous. Both of his hands were even too vibrating for him to pull out the phone from inside his pocket. It took a few seconds until it finally worked.

No message means good news. The children must not have been at the scene, so they did not know about the fire.

Wait for. It could be that the students were stuck there so they could not send news via mobile phones. I want it to feel like Danita slapped herself with bad thoughts.

“Just relax,” said Gunawan who suddenly was beside him. “For us ordinary people, maybe the smoke looks very terrible. But actually the color of the smoke is much brighter than the smoke from a large fire. After all the movement is slow, definitely just a regular small fire.”

Danita draws and exhales a long breath. The feeling of his heart gradually became calmer. However, both of his eyes were still reluctant to leave the appearance of various levels of ash color crawling up into the sky. “Asapnya spread. Can-can the visitors asphyxiate.”

“Betul. It is unfortunate that the Playground side is so negligent that it allows this to happen,” replied Gunawan while squinting. Still looking in the same direction as Danita. “We're lucky. The wind is moving away from us. So, at least we don't need to breathe that much smoke.”

“But what about the kids?”

Danita can only be silent and blur her prayers in the heart. A few minutes later, he suddenly got up. “Sorry once, can I go for a moment? I want to go around and check on the state of the children.”

Gunawan looked tired. “I'm sure they're fine. But it's okay, you can go.”

Danita expressed her gratitude by bowing before finally leaving.

Meanwhile, as expected Gunawan, many students are now in front of the Mania rides. Including Adira and friends. The teenagers were still standing and looking at the same smoke, with different expressions. Most of them looked indifferent, while the others were a little worried.

“Say there was a fire in the Flower Park,” said Karsa who had just been around looking for information. “Let's just calm, everything's been handled well.”

“Bunga Park? Whoa! We're lucky, Dir,” exclaims Firda splashy. Both of his hands covered his gaping mouth. “If we were still there, it could be bad. Although not severe, it will be quite a bad memory.”

“You got there? That place is on the left of the entrance gate, right?” Karsa seemed to frown.

Firda nodded. His much divided attention made him forget to act decisively before Karsa. “Before we want to take photos of colorful flowers. But not so.”

“It's worth it that I have trouble finding you, Dir.” Karsa spoke again. Not at all concerned with Firda's words. “I went to the right of the gate. Passing Rafting and Roller Coaster.”

Adira who had been immersed in her own mind seemed interested in hearing the words of Karsa. His head that had looked down now looked up, looking at the young man who had a body height much higher than him. His eyes were full of curiosity.

“How is the Roller Coaster? What exclamation? Queue no?” He asked with lots of questions, making Karsa feel very anxious.

Not many know that extreme rides are a favorite rides Adira. The girl never talked about it because she felt it wasn't important. However, after the question, maybe everyone already knows about his favorite to the Roller Coaster without having to tell.

“Full once,” reply Karsa quickly. “I could hardly see the sighting of that fast train. And when I managed to see it ...”

Suddenly Karsa was silent. His two eyebrows swooped inwards, forming many wrinkles on his forehead.

“Why stop? Continue your story!” Adira begins to get riled up at Karsa's strange behavior.

If normally Karsa would always do whatever Adira told him in just a matter of seconds, this time it would not. The young man was busy recalling what he had accidentally seen on the fast train rides.

At first, he thought everything looked ordinary. However, when now he will tell it to Adira, then he feels something strange.

“Life, I've never seen someone ride a Roller Coaster using glasses, masks, and an all-black hat,” murmured in the heart.

Until the sound of a thud from a distance.
