“You mean, there are zombies that evolved to be smarter and stronger? That's impossible!” refute Firda. His voice sounded shrill to the point of hurting both of their ears. “This must have been another human who managed to survive! Maybe they envy us relaxing comfortably up here!”
Adira was silent hearing that. What Firda said was quite reasonable, at least the possibility that the one who was throwing stones at them was a human was much larger than a zombie. Adira has always felt that zombies are scary, but the undead are not much more terrifying than humans.
A man who abuses his wits would be a deadly disaster for anyone and anything.
“There's no point in us continuing to dwell like this. We will just die or end up with a lot of injuries,” murmured Adira slowly.
“What did you say, Dir?” ask Firda in a loud voice. Indirectly asked Adira to repeat his words in a loud voice as well.
“We have to run.” Adira raised her head. Slowly he stood up straight again. Both of his arms he placed above his head. “Perhaps if we move quickly, the stones will miss and not hit us.”
Without waiting any longer, Adira immediately turned around and started running. Leaving Firda who was a little late to catch up with him. The sound of the footsteps of the girl mingled with the sound of rocks hitting the wall.
For a moment, Adira thought he had made the right decision. Because the number of stones that hit his body was much reduced than before. However, over time he began to regret his decision when a larger stone hit his side.
The girl pitted loudly with a body that began to drift. One of his legs stepped wrongly and ended up slipping. Adira's considerable distance from Firda made him have no one to hold on to, until he finally began to fall to the outside of the Playground. Adira grimaced feeling her knees hit. He struggled and tried to grab whatever was nearby.
The girl ended up hanging on that wall. Both of his hands clung tightly to the top of the wall.
“Adira!” Firda shouted hysterically while approaching Adira in a hurry. Suddenly he forgets all his fears and begins to grab Adira's hand. With all his might, he tried to pull his friend back to the top. However, he should know, that his strength as an ordinary teenage girl who does not like sports is certainly very limited.
“Fir! My palms are soaked in sweat! I won't be able to last much longer!” Adira tried to exert all his strength to stay afloat. Even to speak he began to have trouble. Both legs are constantly moving looking for a foothold actually makes the grip weaker. “Don't bother helping me! Quick run! The stones are coming more and more!”
“What? No way! Don't be so happy, Dir!” firda protests while tightening his grip on one of Adira's wrists. Prepare to attract his best friend after he gathers enough energy. “You think I'd have the heart to leave you alone? How can I live life with—“ A rock hit Firda's back making the girl complain and slightly move away from Adira.
Meanwhile, in the midst of her difficulties, Adira tried to dare to look down. Exactly as he already knew, underneath now there was absolutely no object that would withstand his fall later. Even the nearest car was parked a few meters from the street below. Adira closed her eyes tightly and began to cry over her own misfortune.
Adira could feel her entire hand muscles as if torn by the way she forced herself to hold on. He could no longer feel his fingertips begin to lose color. Not to mention his shoulders that felt as if they were going to be detached from his body.
‘If I had followed Kak Adnan's advice to always train the strength of my arms and body, maybe I could have easily lifted my body back up.’ Adira continued to mumble her regrets. ‘It's too late. I will not be able to see Brother Adnan again to say that I have now admitted, that all he has always suggested to me is for my own good.’
One by one Adira's fingers began to give up holding on. Even the girl's left hand was now completely detached. Adira survives with only one hand holding her whole body.
Surviving for a few minutes in a hanging position alone is already an incredible miracle. Adira thought he had done enough to do it as much as possible. There would be no regrets left if until he would actually go to the afterlife right now.
Adira opened her eyes and looked at the sky that still looked bright with a bright blue color and thin clouds of pure white. Unknowingly the girl smiled. “At least, today's weather wasn't too bad to drive me away,” murmured before finally letting go of the handle.
Adira could clearly feel her body start to drift. For a moment Adira had thought to enjoy the rare moments where nothing could hold her movement. There was no ground to support his feet, nor a roof to cover him. Just the empty air where he dances now. Adira closed her eyes again, wanting to enjoy her freedom even if only for a moment. Prepare for the collision that he should soon feel.
However, a hand gripped his arm firmly. Adira grimaced feeling the pain in her hand. He was sure there would be bruises and blisters forming there. Both of his eyes reflexively widened. Seeing how Firda tightened her lips while trying to pull Adira's body up.
“Fir .. stop. Let go of me,” pinta Adira earnestly. “Your face starts blushing. You might explode if you keep trying to pull me.”
“Shut!” Firda could only say that one word before hardening his jaw again. He snarled fiercely while exerting all his strength, he could almost feel his entire body about to explode from the way he forced himself. “I! Sure is! Can!” he said it again with great difficulty.
Without realizing that all his suffering was scorned by someone who had just stopped throwing all the stones nearby. The figure grinned and began to laugh out loud. From where he was now, he did not have to worry that a person or the undead would be able to hear his voice. However, for a moment he stopped making a sound and instead grimaced while holding his face that felt pain and pain that was extraordinary.
“Ah! Damnit damnit! Though it did not hurt at all because I was too enjoying the show of the two stupid girls!” grumbled Taka while bowing. He began to curse his entire body which interrupted his pleasure. It took a while until he could return. Seeing how a girl was still bowing while holding someone behind a wall. “I'm sure I know them. Definitely one of the 10th graders in my school.”
For a moment he frowned before he sniffed his shoulders. “Ah, stupid time! They are no longer attractive to me.” The young man turned around and left.
