Adnan turned his head towards Zean, before returning to look at the strange blood spots in front of him. “Are you looking at the same as me? Or are you just daydreaming?” ask her to Zean who did not move in the slightest in his place.
Slowly, Zean nodded. “I think the trail looks weird. I had indeed seen a legless zombie that moved by dragging its body, but the trail was not straight like that. This one looks like ...”
“There's someone dragging that zombie somewhere, right?” ask Adnan. He easily guessed the sentence that Zean wanted to say.
“True.” Zean let out a heavy sigh then faced Adnan with a smile. “Leave it alone, it's all unimportant. Better now we start looking for your sister.”
Boldly, Zean started walking towards the exit. His hands deftly picked up items that were quite useful for self-defense, although not many hard objects were left there. When it only took one more step for him to get out of the store, he only realized that Adnan did not follow him at all.
Zean closed his eyes tightly, trying to resist his desire to leave Adnan. After all, he had promised to help the young man. No matter how annoying Adnan was, Zean still had to keep his promise.
“What are you doing? Come, go!” take Zean after he re-opens his eyes and turns around. He thought Adnan was just standing in place with a grim expression. However, apparently the young man was following the trail of blood they were talking about.
Because Adnan did not answer, Zean finally relented by approaching the young man. “What do you want to do? Don't waste time!”
“I have to do this,” replied Adnan finally. “Quite once I felt so stupid for being late to know the information I should have known before I entered this place.”
Hearing that, Zean frowned. “I don't understand you mean.”
“I have to find out as much information as possible about these damn living corpses!” Adnan walked quickly towards the brownish door and held the doorknob tightly. “The trace stops here. It should be that zombie in here.”
“Zombie can not open the door by yourself.”
“Then our guess is right. Someone brought him here.”
The two young men looked back. Pay attention to how the color of the blackish red coloring the floor with a lot of lines without patterns. It was as if someone was ignorantly mopping the floor with thick paint. However, of course they know that the spot is not the result of mere fad.
Moreover, the pungent smell that smells makes them very nauseous. Zean closed his nose tightly and tried to breathe through his mouth, until his nausea actually increased many times. He clucked in annoyance as he flicked his hand quickly. “And since yesterday I have been quite resistant to the smell of those zombies. But this one is really unbearable! How can I just kiss her now, when since we've been in this place?”
Adnan did not respond at all and refocused his attention on the foreign cupboard in front of him. At first glance, he could guess what objects were behind the door, because he often saw it in various places, especially malls and restaurants.
Hygiene tools. A cleaning tool storage cabinet is the perfect place to hide something.
“Do you also think there might be something useful inside here?” ask Adnan finally.
Zean was silent at that moment. His hand involuntarily reached into the black plastic package that still inhabited his pants pocket. However, he immediately pulled his hand back and crossed his chest. “No. I think there'll only be zombies in there. Maybe he's shy enough to hide from other zombies.”
After saying that, Adnan started counting backwards starting from the number three. Give Zean a warning to get ready. Because it could be that what is behind that door will endanger the lives of both of them.
When the door finally opened, Adnan had prepared to beat up whatever was welcoming him. However, unexpectedly, he was only presented with a scene that was quite terrible for him.
The body of a woman with arms and legs that are no longer intact. Even one of his arms was completely invisible. His crumpled head and decorated with stab wounds almost escaped from the body due to a large wound on his neck. Overall, the appearance of the female body was heart-scratching. An Adnan who always does not care about anyone other than his family alone is not able to see it for a long time.
Only, there was one striking thing that made the young man unable to turn his face away.
Adnan moved the body with his feet. Making sure that the woman had not moved completely before she finally crouched down and stared fixedly at the corpse's face. Slowly, he pulled out the cloth that was stuffing in the mouth.
“Did he die as a human, or a zombie?” asked Zean who just kept standing behind him.
“Kurasa zombie. Why else would someone stuff his mouth if not to prevent him from biting someone else?” Adnan threw the cloth in his hand in any direction. Almost hit Zean's foot if only the young man did not have good reflexes. “But why is he locked up? Is there any chance he'll wake up again after death?”
Zean chuckled at hearing that. “Your mind is too wild. There is not a single zombie story that tells that they can live again after being killed,” he said, pointing to the entire bright brown closet. “See. There's a lot of blood in here. This zombie must not have died in custody. So he struggled a lot until finally his death came.”
Adnan shouted in frustration and stood up again. Kicking the body in front of him was full of anger before walking away. With great difficulty he tried to catch his breath as deeply as possible, trying to get rid of the anger inside his chest. However, it seems that the oxygen he pulled instead made the flames of his anger even more burning.
“I know I acted foolishly assuming I could find many clues in no time!” he lamented while punching whatever was nearby. “But I don't know what else to do! How could I meet Adira with this state of ignorance? Basic suck! Though Adira is counting on me.”
Zean watched Adnan channel his frustrations with clinging. ‘His sister's name is Adira,’ he murmured in heart. ‘If I could also vent my emotions like that, what would it feel like to be relieved?’
Unable to continue to see Adnan torture himself, Zean finally decided to tell the young man the secret he had wanted to keep tight for a while. ‘I think he needs much more hope than I.’
“Adnan, relax! All this was not in vain!” zean sonny said.
Adnan looked at him cynically. “Do not again force me to hear other nonsense.”
“As much as you believe or not. But I'll tell you what I believe in.”
Zean finally took out an object from inside his pocket. Show it to the front of Adnan's face which then widened his eyes.
