57. Social Replacement

"Berin..."

"Yes?"

"Did you see him?"

"See what? Your kisses?" Abrine laughed softly.

"Sorry. Don't think about anything Claire told you. There's no connection between us."

"Hemm, that doesn't really matter, El. I can see what's going on."

El stroked the back of Abrine's hand which was in the woman's lap. He knew his wife could handle this with an adult.

"So I was just in shock. I think he did something to you," Abrine finally said.

"Do what?"

"Of course, I can't see it clearly. But the moves are very suspicious. I feel like he kissed you because he already saw me there" Abrine said.

"So what do you think he really wants to do? Why do you think he's suspicious?"

"I'm just reading the book. Don't know what he's thinking."

Elrich nodded his head. But Abrine's words were enough to make him think hard.

"I think after this you should look out for him." Abrine spoke his mind.

"Why?"

"See, but why do you say he's crazy?"

"Because that's the truth. He's a typical person who's willing to do anything for his own sake."

"I think so too, so be careful, El."

Elrich laughed softly. "Yes, honey. I can take care of myself. Why are you suddenly in the hospital this late?"

"Yes, I don't feel good. I'm worried about you, El."

Elrich stroked Abrine's hair at a glance but did not detract from his focus on the still drizzling streets tonight. In a bit, he thought about Abrine's words about Claire.

El himself admits that Claire is the type of person who does anything for self-satisfaction. The proof is that Claire willingly sacrificed Pevita and her beloved Galvin to get in touch, in order to make El see her whereabouts. In other words, he planned it out for his own sake without thinking about the feelings of those closest to him.

Meanwhile, Claire came home and entered her residence with an overwhelming sense of annoyance. Had Abrine not been there, he would have been able to do it.

"Sh*ttt!!!!" Claire threw the dagger she had been hiding inside her alma mater. He thought, if he can't get to El in the past, now or in the future, it's good that he's gone forever.

"You should've caught up with Pevita today, El!" snarl.

Claire was mutated from the Hospital earlier because of the commotion she made with a nurse. She was not happy because the nurse knew her secret. The nurse reported it to the Hospital where they worked, but Claire managed to evade and dismiss all the charges directed at her. It's just that, as a consequence of the commotion, he had to be mutated.

Today Abrine and El's activities are a visit to a social parlour. In order to keep his promise, El accepts his wife's wish. At once to replace the moment of togetherness of those who had broken during the honeymoon that time.

According to El, their togetherness does not have to always go to a romantic place, the important thing is that they do it together and to a social care home there is no harm, no harm, instead, it makes more and more people will pray for their relationship.

They handed over many donations to the orphanage, there were groceries, new clothes and even toys for children who were also accommodated in the same orphanage. Most of them were in social care homes because of natural disasters that made them homeless.

"Thank you very much, Brother Abrine!" said one of the children who recognized the figure of Abrine there.

"Together, my dear." Abrine pinched the little boy's little chin.

"Who are you coming with, brother? Where's Brother Raymond?"

El believes that Abrine had been to this home with Raymond. Of course, his presence here now invites many question marks from people who live in the orphanage.

"Sister Raymond's not coming, Lisa. He's been busy lately" Abrine lied to the little boy.

Abrine let out a short breath. While Elrich squatting for the sake of aligning his height with Lisa.

"What's your name, girl?"

"Lisa..."

"Lisa, I'm Elrich. Do you want to?"

Lisa approached Elrich slowly, then reached out her foreshadowing hand to receive the doll that Elrich had brought.

"Good girl's. Next time I'll bring you a Barbie doll. I promise."

"really? Not a false promise, is it?"

Elrich chuckled while Abrine gave a smile, she knew her husband liked children very much.

Elrich scrambles Lisa's golden blonde hair. "No, I promise you for real. As a guarantee, you can hold my card and if I lie to you you can call me to collect my promise. How's it?"

Lisa blinked her eyes. A moment later he curled his lips. "All right, brother... Where's your card? I'll really charge it if you forget!" abugn.

Elrich laughed again, he pulled out the namecard from the wallet and handed it to Lisa.

"Doctor Elrich?" read Lisa on that business card. "You're a doctor? Well, I have a new brother a doctor!" Lisa exuberant as if proud to have just met a doctor.

Abrine smiled at her husband and Elrich did the same.

"Brine, are you here?"

Abrine and El look at a woman who greets Abrine. She's Kristy's sister.

"Kristy, long time no see you." Abrine and Kristy hugged. They've been pretty close all along. They're the same age.

"Who is he, Brine?" Kristy looked at Elrich.

"Ah, he's my husband."

"Meet me, I'm Elrich."

"Krissy...." Kristy reached out to El and was greeted by the man. But his eyes kept on El as if he was probing.

"Is something wrong, Chris?"

"No. no. I'm just like I've seen your husband."

"really?"

"Yes, are you an actor?" ask Kristy to Elrich.

"No, I'm just a doctor."

"Oh doctor...." Kristy mumbled softly. But then he jumped. "You're doctor Elrich Gustav? Yeah, yeah, I recognize you.." she continued.

"Oh it turns out my husband is quite famous," Abrine whispered making El smile.

"Where do you know me, Kristy?"

"I happened to work at the Hospital as a nurse. In this parlour I devoted myself to living here."

Elrich nodded his head beginning to understand why Kristy could recognize him. Maybe he had been involved in a job at the hospital where Kristy worked, or had met while both volunteering from the hospital.

"Me and Kristy are a great fit. If we meet we can forget the time because we told each other." Abrine chuckles at introducing Kristy to her husband.

"Thank God, that means you have a woman's best friend too."

"El. Don't do that, of course I have a female friend. Yemima is one of them. Kristy, too, and there's more."

Elrich just laughed. In his heart he thought that Abrine's only friend was Raymond. She was really happy to see Abrine who had other friends besides the man.
