THE DOCTOR'S LOVE TRAP

THE DOCTOR'S LOVE TRAP
49. Inquires

"I don't feel burdened, El. I've decided to get pregnant shortly after we get married."

"really?" El's eyebrows are linked, why Abrine can think to get there, even though they both know, since the beginning of their marriage is not based on feelings of love. "Do you really want to have children?" tanyakanya.

Abrine shook his head with a smile. "I haven't really thought about the child. But, on second thought, the presence of a child can further strengthen our relationship, I don't think it's wrong."

"That means--"

"From the beginning, I didn't want you to let me go, El. I don't want to part with you, no matter how we feel. At first I wanted you to be stuck in this marriage with my pregnancy plans," Abrine said, cutting off El's words quickly.

Elrich shook his head faintly, only to realize his wife's plan. "Hmm, and finally not only am I trapped, but you're the same." El poked his wife's nose and they laughed together.

"Yes, I'll get ready for work now. It's morning already. You're not working? You barely slept all night, El."

"I'm at noon, after all last night I came home too late."

Abrine nodded and he walked towards the bathroom. After taking a bath, Abrine apparently found El who had fallen asleep in their bed. Abrine. El needs enough rest even though this is not the right time to sleep.

Abrine prepared quickly, making El breakfast so that when her husband woke up he would not feel hungry later. Before actually leaving the Apartmen, Abrine again approached El who was asleep in their room.

"Darling, I'm leaving, yeah." Abrine stroked her husband's sluggish jaw firmly. His heart warmed, he did not expect to be able to call El with this call. Even if El was conscious, he was still too embarrassed to say it.

"Ehm..pardon me who does not know about the drug that I have consumed, from now on I will not touch it again and will be more aware of whatever the other person gives," he muttered in front of El's face. He felt guilty for his ignorance in matters of medicine.

Doubtfully and nervously, for the first time Abrine dared to kiss El's cheek until he finally passed from there to continue the activity today.

Abrine works as usual. Today he met a client at a restaurant not far from his office. With Anne, he's doing his job. Her client is a woman who is no stranger to Abrine. She was Xena, Raymond's birth mother. They are a family of business people, that's why Raymond went to business, just like Abrine.

"I heard you're married, Brine..." Xena started the conversation outside the context of their work because the meeting was over.

In fact, Abrine had been trying to be professional from the start, even though he knew Xena well beyond the job plan they were currently in together. But, for some reason he felt bad when he met this fashionable middle-aged woman. In a way, Xena must have known about her problems with Raymond because he was so close to his only parent, Xena.

Abrine is reluctant to discuss personal issues, apparently Xena who first started it. It would be rude of Abrine not to answer this woman's question.

"Yes, Auntie. I got married a week ago." Abrine said casually as usual, his speech was not as formal as when they were still discussing the work earlier.

"Who's the lucky guy? Is he a businessman? Director of the company, or just an owner?"

Xena's words do sound flattering, but Abrine quite understand if here Xena intends to dwarf her husband's profession.

"El's a surgeon, Auntie."

Xena nodded her head. "Oh, just a doctor. Turns out your choice was far below Raymond, Brine," he said disparagingly.

Abrine sighed slowly. "For me it doesn't matter, Auntie. The important thing is that El's job is good, he can appreciate me and I can trust him. After all, my marriage is not just to enrich myself" Abrine said with a small smile.

Abrine's remarks greatly slapped Xena's self-esteem. In addition to Abrine breaking Raymond's heart with male choices that are far from their standards, Abrine seems to be very proud of her husband who is only a doctor.

"Hem, that? How much is the salary of doctors in this city. As much as his salary can't guarantee the future."

Abrine could not stand Xena's soft words that sounded so disdainful. He could not linger with the woman any longer.

"Alright, Aunt. I think our discussion of the work is over, it's good to end this."

Xena sniffed his shoulders indifferently.

Abrine walked away, followed by Anne who walked behind him. Inwardly, Abrine was grateful not for Xena being his mother-in-law.

"Wait, Abrine!"

Apparently Xena followed Abrine's steps and blocked his arm.

"I'm sorry if your aunt's words may be outrageous, but.. Can you come see Ray? He's sick now."

Xena's face was filled with tears of hope.

"I don't think there's any effect on me coming or not, Auntie." Worried, Abrine answered with those words.

"Abrine, come as a friend to Ray. He'll be very happy. Perhaps your arrival will restore his spirit. She's so uninspired after your wedding." This time, Xena looked serious.

Abrine thought for a moment like weighing.

There, El just woke up. He called Xander, said he did not go to the hospital today and requested that all of his surgery be replaced by another surgeon. Xander responded because El said he would take care of something very important.

El had thought, he couldn't wait any longer. He immediately headed to Edgar's villa to ask all about Erika's words.

El thought, all the problems he had to solve one by one. One of the things that had been eating away at her mind since yesterday was Erika's statement regarding her origin. If that's true, she deserves to know who her real mother is, right?

El arrives at his father's villa by noon. He immediately met Edgar who was reading a newspaper on the back porch of the house.

"Dad...." Actually El went awry, he did not want to offend his father and resulted in Edgar's health. However, he also could not hold back his curiosity any longer.

"El, are you here, son?"

"How's dad doing?"

"Father healthy, El." Edgar was looking for something behind El. "Where's Abrine?" tanyanya.

"Abrine is at work, Dad."

"Then you don't work yourself, El? What brings you here? You look so rushed."

"I'm sorry dad, I just heard bad news. And I came here to ask my father and confirm it for the peace of my heart."

Edgar frowned with his brows deeply linked.

"What is that, El?" Edgar felt his son Elrich was interrogating him. The child's gaze seemed to be very intimidating. It's not usually El like this. What things? Or El already knows one fact that Edgar has been covering up?

"Dad, were me and Elena's sister born to the same mother?"

Elrich's question made Edgar flinch. He had prepared an answer long ago if one day El would ask this. But, when the time came and El actually asked, somehow Edgar was even difficult to say.

"Take me, Dad! Is it true, I am the child of an affair?" El asked her by holding her emotions in deep. The intonation of his voice was held back.

Edgar tergugu's. Although El asked in a slow tone but El's question made him have to hold his heart that suddenly felt pain due to this. Edgar tried to hold on as hard as he could, however El deserved to know everything.

"Dad, are you okay? Forgive me," said El holding his father's sagging body. "I'm sorry dad, I just want to know the truth about myself."

"Dad, it's okay, El. Help me into the room." Edgar spoke haltingly. He needs the cure now.

El brought the frail Edgar into the man's room. Edgar immediately grabbed his glass and El sprightly gave him the medicine that was available on the nightstand. El knew his actions would affect his father's health, but he would not force Edgar to answer immediately. El's intuition worked better and from his father's face and body language, he was able to deduce a truth.

Edgar felt calmer, he was able to control himself and stared in the shade at the son after the medicine he was taking started to react.

"El, all the news you've heard about yourself is not entirely true and not entirely false, son!" edgar said slowly. His face looked like he was looking far into the past.

"Elena and you are different. Elena is Naina's son. While you're the son of another woman."

El was wide-eyed, though he could already have expected this answer, but he was still shocked to learn this from his own father's mouth.

"But believe me, son. You're not the child of an affair like you said. Your father and mother were married before I married Naina."

"Then, who...who's my mom, dad?"

"It was Emily Langford. Emily and Dad got married first, but without the family's knowledge. But, Naina is the first wife recorded in the country."

Elrich sat down. "Why did you do that, dad?"

"Emily is the girl that I love, while at that time I was betrothed to Naina and in a position of not being able to resist."

"Alright, I understand the situation now. Then, where's my real mom, dad?"

Edgar nodded. "Dad doesn't know, she left for a moment to give birth to you. I don't know why, he left us. I don't want you to take you home and raise you with Elena."

"Dad's been looking for him. But can't find it, El. Looking for someone who leaves no trace, it's not as easy as flipping a palm."

Elrich fell silent. She had no idea if her mother was alive or had died, but the fact Erika gave - really - that she was not one mother with Elena.
