THE DOCTOR'S LOVE TRAP

100. Tossing the past

Elrich walked quietly beside Theresia who seemed hesitant to enter the Edgar residence. They had arrived from a few minutes ago but it seemed like the old woman wanted to adjust first before actually meeting her former daughter-in-law.

As Edgar saw the arrival of his son and Theresa from a distance, he slowly came out and approached the two.

"Good afternoon, Madam." Edgar greeted Theresia first. His voice sounded vibrating. After all, her encounter with Theresia made her remember one woman she used to love, Emily.

Theresia shook her head faintly. He endured the raging feeling in his heart, but looking at Edgar in front of him now and greeting him with a friendly memory seemed to make him want to roll back when Emily was alive.

If she hadn't opposed Emily's relationship with Edgar, her daughter would not have lived with pain at the end of her life. Not just physical pain but heartache.

If she had been able to prevent Edgar's marriage to Naina, Emily would not have felt the pain of shared love.

Unfortunately, the time it happened Theresa thought it was the price Emily had to pay for having chosen a man like Edgar. Yeah, he was so selfish back then but at the end he felt sorry for not getting in the way with all the power he had.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Edgar coughed as he said it. Saying an apology that she never said in front of Emily's mother. If he hadn't been forced to marry Emily without the blessing of both sides of the family, he probably wouldn't have hurt Emily so deeply that it left him with a scar on his heart.

Theresia and Edgar both dissolve in grief, also feeling guilty for the mistakes they had made in the past that they had sacrificed Emily.

Edgar wanted Emily too much to marry him.

While Theresia is too selfish not to approve their relationship at any time.

Elrich watched the scene in front of him. Can only endure sadness. He himself never knew the figure of a biological mother who had given birth to him. But here, he knows that his mother, Emily, has been the victim of the selfishness of two men who became his father and grandmother.

They all went into the villa after Elrich cleared his throat to see a clear look of sadness on the faces of the two.

"Aunt Sera? How you doing?" Elrich tried to melt the atmosphere. He greeted the butler in charge of his father's house.

Sera smiled kindly at El. "Good aunt, El. How're you? Ah, why wasn't your wife invited?"

"Abrine is not fit, she is pregnant. After all he could not if the weather was too cold like in this villa. I'm afraid the hypothermia is relapsing."

Aunt Sera nodded. The woman knew El was distracting her parents behind her.

"Let's eat, you and Mrs Theresia must be very hungry."

"Of course, Bi. Let's see what aunt cooks for our arrival." said El enthusiastically. He reviewed the smile while rubbing his hands together and stared at the cooking menu on the table.

"Oh, grandma, dad.it's good that we eat together now. I'm so hungry."

El tried to melt the atmosphere so as not to get more awkward. After this, he would let his father have a one-on-one conversation with his grandmother. Maybe they'll bring the past back. But, El really hope they introspect each other without blaming each other.

Elrich went into the room after cleaning himself. He actually allowed Theresia and Edgar to talk alone without him.

In the room in the villa, El actually felt lonely. Somehow not a day left his wife he has been hit by a longing disease.

El called Abrine's phone, a few seconds later the call was connected.

"Darling, where are you? What do? Who's with, hmmm?"

"Where should I answer first, El?"

Elrich chuckled at the grunts of his wife.

"Jawab you love me."

"Yes, yes. I love you. Already?" Abrine also giggled amused because El's words had nothing to do with the man's initial question before.

"Not yet."

"So, what else?" Abrine started sewot.

"Give me a kiss."

"Eh, how is it?"

"You don't know?"

"No," answered Abrine plainly.

"Get your phone to your lips and give me a long-distance kiss." Elrich smiled slanted in his position.

"Ah, El. I won't."

"Why?"

"That's not my name I kissed you but kissed a cell phone."

"Yes, let's just say it's me."

"Haisss.. Do it, Brine." El starts to get upset and that's Abrine's real purpose.

"I don't want to. My phone's not like your lips." Still Abrine chuckled loudly to make El squash himself to hear it.

"Hurry up, give me some vitamin K."

"Vitamin K?"

"Vitamin K is Vitamin Kiss.... Kiss it!"

There's more and more of Abrine's laughter across the street. "You're just there. If you want vitamin K. The day after tomorrow, when you're in front of me."

"Oh my God, my wife is hard to guess. Asking for a long-distance kiss is hard to ask for forgiveness."

"I want the real one instead of kissing the cell phone."

"You have always refused if I still ask him carefully. Look at it later, if I'm in front of you I won't let you go!" el said half-threatening.

They discussed the ridiculous matter until late at night. The call also turned into a video call that made El smile at his wife's pillow face. They also talked about meeting Theresia and Edgar. El said that he hoped Grandma and the father could make peace with the situation and could pray for his late mother in their respective prayers.

"I'm sleepy, honey. hoammmm." Abrine yawns.

"Sleep..." El held his phone screen as if stroking his wife's long hair.

"Turn off the phone."

Elrich shook his head, "I want to see you sleep. Want to make sure you're really asleep."

"I'm not lying, I'm really going to sleep."

"Hey... Who said you lied, who, baby? I'm right to see you fall asleep, too."

"All right, it's up to you."

"Put the phone on the pillow that I'm supposed to sleep on. Keep the camera in your face."

"Yes, Mr. Onion.." said Abrine.

"I love you, wifey...."

"Love you too hubby...."

They looked at each other through the screen of the phone they were holding. Abrine immediately positioned the phone as her husband suggested. She also missed El despite only being separated for a while. Until finally Abrine really fell asleep but El did not want to break the video call.

"Good night my little angel. Good night my special one."

El said softly while looking at Abrine who was asleep. Before long, he fell asleep due to sleepiness and fatigue on the way to the villa.
