Can't Sleep

"eeee... Bi... Can.... Can you sleep downstairs tonight???" ask Anna carefully.

At once Alex felt a sharp arrow thrust right into his heart.

'What??? Downstairs??? What does this mean, Anna doesn't want to be around him anymore???'

"You... Want me... to sleep downstairs??" ask Alex again slowly to be sure.

The man hoped that his ears had misheard Anna's words just now.

Anna bit her lips softly and looked at Alex with her unpleasant feelings,

"I.. Yes... can you, tonight... Did you sleep downstairs first???" ask Anna again.

The man looked down and nodded slowly,

"alright... If that's what you want." she said sadly.

Anna could see the disappointment from the look in her husband's eyes. The girl tries to find the right word so as not to offend Alex,

"Sorry Alex.. I didn't mean to stay away from you on purpose. I'm just.." said Anna cut off as Alex smiled gently at her while keeping her index finger on her lips.

"Std... Dear.. I-i understand. You don't have to feel guilty like that" he said calmly.

Alex stands by the bed and puts the blanket back together for Anna,

"Sleep.. I'll just sleep on the couch" Alex said.

Anna sighed and looked at Alex guiltily,

"Good sleep" Alex smiled gently.

Anna nodded slowly and smiled back at Alex,

"Good sleep" Anna replied.

After Anna closed her eyes, Alex immediately turned off the lights and began to step towards the sofa which was not far from the bed.

Alex's feelings now feel so mixed. On the other hand he tries to be patient and understand Anna's changing behavior while being around him. But on the other hand, Alex cannot deny that there is a sense of sadness and disappointment that he feels.

The man put his body on the sofa while setting his eyes on Anna's body on her back.

"When will this all end??" frustrated whisper.

Alex ruffled his hair slowly and tried to fall asleep. Unfortunately, the man was unable to fall asleep as well.

Usually Alex will easily fall asleep while hugging his wife's body. But now pitifully, he had to fall asleep alone on this sofa.

The man tried to flip through his body looking for a comfortable position for him to sleep in. Alex could not fall asleep at all.

Alex got up from his sleep and sat down with a frustrated face.

The man stared at Anna's back with his sad face,

"Now what should I do???" frustrated whisper.

The man sighed and got up from the sofa and walked to the door and opened it. Maybe Alex's gonna spend the night working.

The man prefers to go to his study while working on some of the files he should check.

Alex stood at the door staring back at his wife's seemingly asleep body,

"I hope it's the last night you're nauseous when you're near me." whispered expectantly.

Then the man closed the door and began to walk towards his study to spend the night full of turmoil.

The sunlight enters through the window. Alex blinked his eyes as a light shone on his closed eyes.

The man blinked his eyes and rubbed them slowly. Alex opened his eyes while touching his head which felt a little heavy and dizzy.

Alex stared at the clock on the wall that showed at 9 a.m. That means, Alex has only been asleep for about 2 hours.

Last night, the man really couldn't sleep. Alex tried to focus himself on work but the man could not focus.

And finally, Alex prefers to see the photo album of his marriage with Anna to treat his longing while with his wife.

Alex again massaged his forehead while resuscitating his body in his work chair. The man sighed and opened his eyes again.

Alex got up from the chair. But suddenly the man's eyes stared at a blanket that enveloped his body.

As soon as Alex recalled, it seemed like he didn't bring a blanket here last night.

What don't-don't... Anna covers him??? thought Alex.

A smile also touched his face. Alex immediately stood up and walked out of his study, and went into the room.

The man opened the door with a smile still adorning his face. Alex's gaze also pointed towards the bed that looks empty.

"Darling.." cried Alex.

Alex stepped into the room and set his eyes all over the room, but the man did not find his wife there.

Alex steps into the bathroom and opens the door,

Alex immediately stepped out of the room towards the bottom floor. He sure must be his wife there.

By the time Alex's step has arrived downstairs. Suddenly the man heard the voices of people chatting while laughing.

Alex squinted his eyes and tried to refocus his hearing as he felt the voice of a man speaking.

With quick steps the man walked towards the living room.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Anna, Aunt Van and Roy were chatting with him,

"Haha... Mr. Roy is very funny" said Aunt Van after hearing the joke that Roy conveyed.

It was seen Anna was also laughing while wiping the corner of her eyes,

"really??? hahaa... I am indeed a handsome and humorous man Auntie" Roy said proudly.

"Oh yes, I have a joke that is no less funny.." he continued.

"Ekhem... There was a man in his wallet with a picture of his wife. As his friends watched, he was praised as an excellent husband.

Then, one of his friends asked what function it was to bring a picture of the wife. He replied: "if I have a problem in the office, I always look at the photo, and the problems I face just disappear".

"Well how happy you are to have such a wife, how could that be?" ask friends.

Anna and Aunt Van laughed at Roy's joke,

"Funny isn't haha???" ask Roy again.

Anna laughed and nodded slowly. Roy immediately gulped his body proudly while patting his chest,

"That's me.. Roy!! Besides being handsome I'm also a humorous man." he said proudly.

"I'm sure your husband can't make jokes like me, right??" he continued to boast.

However, Roy's laughter suddenly disappeared when his eyes saw an Alexander Wijaya who was standing behind his wife while looking at him sharply with a face that was very creepy.

The man swallowed his saliva and looked at Alex with fear. His body suddenly grew and turned cold..
