Chapter 5 The Prince's Welcome

The train arrived just at lunchtime, Albert who had been impatiently waiting since yesterday was so happy to welcome the arrival of the waiter who picked him up.

There were not many luggage that he had to pack Albert only took a few minutes to prepare, although there was a little sadness because he had to part with his friends but Albert did not mind.

After saying farewell to Sir Hummut the Dean he left, waiting impatiently in the carriage while imagining the faces of his parents.

It took him at least two days to arrive at the Meseress Kingdom, but the first sight he saw was chaos. Houses were burned down, sobs were relentless and corpses were strewn about intact.

The bodyguards decided to pause, checking the situation for the prince's safety. But just as he was descending the Elves came besieging them, a frantic Albert could only watch from inside his carriage.

"Groan!" yelled one of the elves.

The battle was inevitable, Albert's bodyguard of only five had to fight at least twenty Elves.

Of course this was not a fair fight, one of the servants immediately took Albert out to save himself. They kept running trying to save themselves from the Elves who were chasing, panicking and afraid that Albert was trying hard to speed up his run.

Aaaaaaa

Shouting his servant when captured by the Elves, Albert stopped running to see him but the servant shouted "Run the prince! save yourself!."

Albert wanted to help but found out that the outnumbered would be in vain, with very forced to finally run back when the Elves were back in pursuit.

He went into the forest where his tracks would be difficult to find, so tired of his feet he decided to hide behind a large tree.

Suddenly a hand covered his mouth, Albert had tried to escape but when he saw the man gesturing for silence he complied.

"Where is he? where'd he run?" shouted one of the Elves who had managed to catch up.

Apparently this guy was trying to save her, nervous about being caught Albert turning a blind eye. Trying to calm his heartbeat, a few minutes later everything was quiet and the man let go of his hand.

"You okay?" tanyakanya.

Albert nodded.

"Come with me!" bring him.

He took Albert deep into the forest and into the cave, after walking for a few minutes he could see the light in front of the candle.

In the not-so-wide cave he saw a man lying in apprehensive condition, the young man who helped him approached and sat down beside him.

"Jonah, I found him" he whispered right in Jonah's ear.

Slowly Jonah opened his eyes, then glanced at Albert who was still there.

"Are you.. Prince Albert?" ask Jonah slowly.

"Yes, it's me" Albert replied, nodding.

Jonah beckoned to get closer, Albert complied and sat down right next to him.

"Fifteen years ago.Agrarta's daughter was severely ill with a curse, and a vampire named Damien saved her life. In return Damien asks for a surprise child and you are the child, Your Majesty. Please. convey also.. message from me. " Jonah said in the rest of his energy.

There are still many questions that Albert wants to ask, but Jonah already does not have the ability to answer them.

For days they walked in the woods, during the day Damien would seek proper shelter from the sun and sleep. At that time there were two rules Sophia had to follow, first do not go anywhere and the second obeyed the first rule if she wanted to live.

Damien explains that he is a creature of the night which means he can not move during the day, he also drinks blood but will not prey on humans carelessly.

One of the biggest questions Sophia asked was why Damien asked the surprise child in return, Damien's answer was that he needed a human assistant who had to look after him during the day.

At the moment the world is not good, wars are happening everywhere and between races. He has fought a war between his vampire tribe and the lycan, helping humans fight Elves and helping fairies from witches.

He had lived for hundreds of years and chose not to intervene in any war, but as a result of his actions there used to be seeds of hatred that wanted to take revenge on him.

Despite living for hundreds of years Damien plans to stay alive for several hundred more years, so he needs someone to look after him.

Actually knowing that the surprise child he got was a girl made him a little disappointed, especially she was a princess who was used to embroider instead of swordplay.

But it didn't matter, he would teach Sophia how to fight later. Right now the plan is to bring Sophia home first, it's the place where the young vampires live.

"Let down your hair, don't interact with young vampires and always be close to me" Damien said as they approached.

"Why?" ask Sophia.

"Young vampires are not stable, they are easily tempted and have difficulty controlling thirst. You don't want to die in their suction, do you?" damien Sahut.

Sophia immediately shook her head, just imagining it made her shudder.

The house is an old castle with walls that are still solid, when they enter it is really dark and musty because it is not exposed to sunlight.

"Damien!" a woman welcomed his return.

"Lucy!" he hugged the woman.

"And...he?" ask Lucy.

"Sophia, nice to meet you" Sophia said politely.

Lucy nodded, but clearly her face displayed an unfriendliness. Without caring about it Damien takes Sophia in and introduces her to the people there, who Damien does not think apparently the number of young vampires is much more than he thought and dominated by men.

"This is your room, you should rest first," Damien said as he showed a small room filled only with wooden bed mats.

Sophia came in hesitantly, the smell really made her unable to bear but it was clear she had to endure.

"I'll pick you up at dinner tonight" Damien said before closing the door.

Hurry up, Damien walks into Lucy's room to talk about something important.

"Are you crazy? you take the lamb to the wolf's den" Lucy said, welcoming Damien.

"I have no choice" he said.

"You have a lot of friends, why bring them here? oh Damien.." erang Lucy.

"I promise we're here for just a few days" he said.

"What are you thinking?" ask Lucy suspiciously.

"I need him as an assistant."

"What?" lucy hardly believed what she heard.
