Sense of Sense
Extra Chapter 2

That afternoon was so hot, Alvin and Zain who had just returned from school went straight to the refrigerator after changing clothes. Both of them are planning to enjoy the favorite homemade ice cream.

“Mas fetchin!” exciting Zain.

Alvin who was standing on the small chair looked back. “Help where?”

Zain showed off his teeth. “Mas Alvin, please takein for Zain as well.”

Alvin groaned, not responding to Zain's words except for a fine dehumidification. His hand painstakingly removed the ice chunks from its place. The stick with the bear's head was covered in pink and brown ice divided in half, both of which were Alvin and Zain's favorite flavors, respectively.

“This.” Alvin thrust the ice cream at Zain and then took another one for himself.

“Loh? Mas Alvin same Mas Zain really, even eat ice cream?” Mbak Jum walked towards the two krucils from the back terrace. “Mamah was the same pesen aunty, he said you have to have lunch first can only eat ice cream.”

“Where are you, Bi?” alvin asked, getting off the chair and closing the refrigerator door.

Ashqar and Sapphira's first child was just as cool as Zain who just stood still, watching Mbak Jum while continuing to lick ice cream in their hands.

Mbak Jum breathed a sigh. “Mamah is out for a while. Mas Alvin same Mas Zain taroh used to ice cream, yuk?” the Mbak Jum. “Aibi ready for lunch how?”

Alvin and Zain compactly shook their heads.

“No want! Zain wants to eat ice cream!” zain exclaimed as he passed into the television room.

Alvin is still in his place. “Alvin same Zain ngabisin ice cream first time, Bi. Later if left even melted.”

“But later aunty scolded Mas Alvin when he knew Mas Alvin same Mas Zain did not eat.”

“Alvin promises to eat if you have finished eating ice cream,” he said trying to convince. And when Mbak Jum looks to protest, Alvin hurriedly added. “Zain also. We'll both have lunch, Bi.”

After that, Alvin followed Zain who was already cool watching cartoons. While Mbak Jum can only resigned to the behavior of his employer's oldest child and hope Alvin can really keep his promise. Because otherwise, Safira would have reprimanded him.

Although not a typical employer who likes to be angry and nagging, like previous employers, but Mbak Jum actually felt reluctant and unpleasant if to be reprimanded Safira. Because Sapphira never bothered about small things until the big ones.

“Ya, already. Let's eat ice cream first, later stay here for lunch,” monologue Mbak Jum.

Spending a bar of ice cream does not take long especially if while watching beloved cartoons, but that does not mean enough. Zain was agitated as there was nothing left on the light blue ice stick for him to lick.

While biting the ice cream stick, with a kitten face, Zain turned to Alvin who was enjoying the ice cream in the hand.

Feeling observed, Alvin then turned his head. “Why?” he asked, then put the remaining ice cream on the stick into his mouth. “Udah mas eat, don't ask.”

Alvin the sadist makes his sister frown.

“Mas evil. Zain ‘kan, not asked yet. Uh, it's finished aja.”

Between willing and unwilling, Zain handed over the ice cream stick. Actually he wanted to again, but didn't dare to grab himself in the fridge. So Zain thought that Alvin would give him a little ice cream. Unfortunately, it failed.

“Mas, Zain wants more,” great-grandson Zain when Alvin is up and about to go to the kitchen.

Alvin looked down and put on a lazy face. Zain's current expression was very hepatic, a deceitful expression. “Tell yourself same Mamah,” he said as he passed.

Disappointment was etched on Zain's face. He dares to tell his mom, because the rules are clear; one ice cream for one day.

“Zain, here!”

Zain raised his face, looking towards the kitchen. “Why, Mas?”

“Sini! Want no?”

Encouraged by curiosity, Zain excitedly walked into the kitchen. Who knew her brother changed his mind and secretly gave her an extra ice cream. However, as soon as he reached the kitchen, what he saw was not an ice cream bar in Alvin's hand but fried chicken thighs.

“Kok, chicken?”

“Eating, yuk.”

Zain scowling. “No, ah.”

“Yakin?” Alvin raised one eyebrow. “Later to help you tell Mamah to make extra ice cream. Want, no?”

Without a second thought, Zain exclaimed in agreement. “Ok! Promise yes, Mas!”

Then Zain hurried to pick up the dishes and filled them with rice and prepared side dishes at the counter table.
