The sound of steps climbing the stairs one by one. Slowly, but echoes that fill the already deserted house. Almost midnight, the lighting conditions were dimmed only a few lights were turned on or replaced with smaller wattage ones.
One breath sounded heavy as footsteps stopped at the last rung of the stairs. Rafa half-consciously glanced at the clock on his wrist, at 23:57 WIB. Then the breath sounded again, heavier and louder. Half-heartedly Rafa dragged a step towards Edi's study.
“If it is not important I will go straight home,” he said lethargic along with his step into the environment.
Rafa is almost sound, perhaps almost dreaming of beauty, as his father unscrupulously contacts him even as he ignores Edi's call more than seven times. Especially when he picked it up and Edi only said one short sentence and then just closed the phone. Go to your office now.
Remembering Edi's words made Rafa's annoyance doubled. Fortunately, he was able to drive. Rafa almost opened his mouth to nag when he noticed Edi's tense expression.
Edi was daydreaming, but there seemed to be something that bothered his mind. Slowly Rafa approached Edi who was sitting behind the desk, his drowsiness suddenly disappeared.
“Pak? You all right?”
“Hah?” edi exclaimed, surprised by the clap on his shoulder. Then when he managed to return from his daydream, Edi found Rafa already sitting before him. “When did you come?”
“New. What are you moping about? I think it's serious.”
Edi looked at Rafa Lamat. “Father knows in advance I ask you to temporarily stop Mas Teguh's investigation and focus the same wedding preparations, but ..”
“Mr can what information?” sambar Rafa's.
Edi scowled at the base of the nose, closing the eyelids as the dizzy again attacked him. “New information,” said, pushing a map forward Rafa.
Somewhat impatiently, Rafa opened the map and began to look at the paper sheets in it. The information was the same as he had obtained, Teguh had stayed at the hotel for a week after being free from the toilet and then stayed at the boarding for several weeks before finally disappearing.
“This ... same subdistrict with Safira?” Rafa stared at the sheet in his hand and Edi took turns. “That means Pakde Teguh is likely around Safira.”
“But of course. Either by chance or indeed this is part of his plan, but if it is true he is near Safira or maybe even already know where Safira lives then it can be dangerous.”
Edi turned the chair and peered at the night sky from behind the curtains. Window glass workspace dewy, maybe because outside has begun to drizzle plus air conditioning that reaches 19˚ Celsius. This kind of situation reminded him of the events of that day.
“Bapak want you to continue the investigation about this, find all the complete information and try not to miss a single one.” Edi again closed the curtain and turned his chair again. “Also let no one know about this, now-now any small information about us will be very influential big.”
Rafa buzzing. His eye beads are still focused on two photos taken three days ago. “Pak, this is a photo of Pakde Teguh?” he asked, thrusting a piece of photo towards Edi.
“Yes, unfortunately the person you told lost track of Mas Teguh after taking photos.” Edi sipped the coffee that had been cold to the toilet. “People who you tell can only get information that for the last three months Mas Teguh regularly visit the pet store once a week and several times visit a store in the flower market.”
