At night, Alvin waited for Ashqar to visit his room. After this afternoon he advised Zain, he thought his sister and mother would make up. But no, and he doesn't know why either. So he decided to talk to Ashqar.
Alvin sat down in front of his lecture table while checking once again the book that was to be brought tomorrow. As the door opened from the outside, Alvin turned his head.
“There are unfinished tasks?” ashqar asked, going inside without closing the door.
Alvin shakes. “Ngak, Pah. My job is done all.”
“Keep why are you still at the study table?”
Alvin looked at Ashqar and then he walked past Ashqar who was standing in front of him to close the door. Awake in case Zain had not slept and followed to his room.
Realizing Alvin's other behavior than usual, Ashqar asked, “What's the matter?”
“Alvin wants to chat with Papah,” he said, after being sure the door is locked.
Alvin walked towards Ashqar and was about to return to the chair when suddenly Ashqar lifted his body high and sat him on the bed.
“It looks important,” said Ashqar, pulling up Alvin's study chair and sitting on it. “What's the problem?”
Alvin is securing himself. His feet hung on the edge of the bed while both palms he placed on the sides of his body to support his weight and when his eye bead met with Ashqar obsidian, Alvin felt safe.
Alvin had not known his biological parents at all, his experience as an adopted child was gray. He was only adopted a few months before then finally being returned to the orphanage, so for him being a child was a no-nonsense formality.
However, along with Ashqar and Sapphira, Alvin learns how to be a child who has parents. How to show affection or express opinions, although sometimes there are some things that he feels are still awkward to express to Ashqar.
“Alvin want to ask about Mamah, can you?”
Ashqar's forehead is wrinkled. “Bby. Want to ask what?”
“Because now there is Harsha, do you not love Alvin and Zain?”
Ashqar was a little surprised then stunned for a while. His bead still whistled with Alvin's and he realized that there was no doubt his son did, though Ashqar could also see anxiously as thin as a strand of hair there.
Ashqar's expression softened. “Mamah or Papah will always love you even though there is Harsha now. Precisely because there is Harsha, love mamah and papah increased many times for the three of you.” Ashqar deepens the smile. “Now papah asked. Why does Alvin think that Mamah doesn't love you guys because there's Harsha?”
Alvin glanced at the school bag behind Ashqar. His gaze obscured the objects on the table until a car robot at the end of the table caught his attention. The robot was given Safira when they were not yet a family.
“Soalya Mamah Sama Harsha. Harsha a little cry so can no longer nemenin Alvin same Zain play the same task at home school.”
Alvin's hesitant remarks invited Ashqar to think fast. He remembered that there was something strange about the movements of his son and wife even since he entered the house this afternoon.
“Did something happen while working? Is there a problem?”
Alvin was patterning, but still avoiding Ashqar's gaze. At the moment he felt like a complainant and if he really told Zain a calm, angry manner towards Sapphira, Alvin would feel very guilty towards his sister. However, he also did not want Safira and Zain to constantly fight.
“Why?” ask Ashqar in a slow tone.
It took some time and persuasion Ashqar until finally Alvin wanted to tell a story. And as soon as Alvin finished telling the story, Ashqar's smile re-expanded.
He reached out to wipe Alvin's black voice. “Still, Mas Alvin already want the same story papah.”
“Why did Papah say thanks?” alvin was confused. It's not as he suspected. He thought Ashqar would get angry and go straight to Zain.
“Because Alvin has the same story papah. Actually papah also feels strange, usually Mamah talk a lot, but from the return papah Mamah even become quiet. Papah thinks Mamah is sick. But now papah knows why mamah is so because Alvin who told you.”
“Oh. But ... Papah will not be Zain's law, ‘kan?”
“Papah will not law Zain, but papah later tell Zain not to be so again. Mamah is still sick after giving birth so Mamah cannot be tired. Harsha is also a child, can not do anything if not helped with Mamah. So, papah asked Alvin to help Mom, huh?”
“Alvin, ‘kan, help Mom every day. Help wash dishes with floor.”
Ashqar. “Not that papah means, Jagoan.” Ashqar scrambles the mane of Alvin's gnash. “Sorry, papah said wrongly. Papah, please take care of Mamah, okay?”
Alvin nodded. Although actually he did not really understand the purpose of Ashqar's words.
“Alvin do not think again that papah samah mama do not love you anymore because there is Harsha, yes?” ask Ashqar. When Alvin nodded again, he stood up and guided Alvin to sleep. “Now it's time to sleep.”
Alvin enjoyed Ashqar's heart-warming attention. Although this has been a routine activity since he became part of the family. “Pah, Mamah Sama Zain will be better, ‘kan?”
Ashqar's hands hang in the air. He saw the worry on Alvin's face. “Surely,” answered mantab, put a blanket to cover his son's chest. “Good night, don't forget to pray.”
Ashqar leaves Alvin's room after turning off the lights. Ashqar glanced at the wall clock above the television. By 21:30 p.m., Safira should have gone to bed.
“Who knows yet,” whispers, then turn the direction towards the kitchen. A glass of warm milk would probably comfort Sapphira a little if her wife had not fallen asleep.
