Ashqar glanced at Nita seklias. His ex-wife did not look well, her gestures raising other questions for Ashqar. However, he put that aside and looked back straight at the person who gave him the question.
“No parent will intentionally ignore their child. Every parent will do their best for his flesh and blood, however it may be, right or wrong, it is everyone's choice.”
“How about the issue of infidelity?” another reporter said, interrupting earlier reporters who had opened their mouths to ask other questions.
Ashqar's jaw instantly hardens. “What is the meaning of the word issue?” said Ashqar coldly. Highlight the man's eyes as sharp as the tip of a keris that was ready to penetrate the heart. “Trouble, rumours. Me and Nita have indeed been married, but at this time we have our own lives and the issue of infidelity or reference is not true.”
Then after Ashqar's straightforward speech, the atmosphere was boisterous. The reporters impatiently raised their hands and asked questions almost simultaneously. Some have questioned her and Nita's relationship in the past, some have asked Safira and their family's response, and other questions that are actually personal.
Suddenly the situation became not conducive, the speaker of the press conference to the point of being overwhelmed even Siska who had been silent had intervened. Then right after one of the Royal Entertainment officials calmed the press and was about to say something, Ashqar spoke first.
“I can understand all your questions and I will answer them at once, so please take a good note of my words and ...,” Ashqar deliberately pauses his words, he said, give intense eye contact to all the journalists present. “please not to dismember my speech just to give you a lot of titles to publish.”
The speaker and Siska exchanged glances, obviously if the woman was unhappy with Ashqar's actions. However, he could not do much in front of journalists and their cameras, so he was forced to signal for Ashqar's lead.
Then without further ado Ashqar began to answer one by one the questions he managed to remember from the commotion a moment ago. He begins by repeating the previous two answers followed by other answers.
“I and Nita were once married and we have a child, our relationship is also good solely for our son. Our son's custody is in my hands, he's in a very good environment for his growth, he's under my and my wife's supervision. Yes, I'm married.” Ashqar showed off the ring on the ring finger of his right hand and said, “So the rumors about an affair or a reference between me and Nita, it's not true. All the rumors that circulated lately were very detrimental to me and my wife, our family later became the spotlight of the people around. We are not public figures, we do not need news, so please for all of you, press friends do not interfere with your privacy.”
A female reporter in her thirties who was sitting at the end of the second row raised her hand and interrupted, “Sorry, Mas Ashqar. Disturbing that means what?"
Ashqar was silent for a moment, his instincts felt something strange. The question at first glance sounded like sarcasm, but the tone of the woman's speech felt otherwise. However, Ashqar did not want to take a headache and lost the moment.
“The slanted news, gossip and even slander that is widely circulated in the print, online or television without ever interviewing me as a source, I think it is definitely a disturbing thing. How can you write a news story or article that bears my name as if I were the one speaking when you never interviewed me?” Ashqar threw a thin smile full of scorn as a few pias-faced people. “A few days ago our house was satronized by two people with the identity of a reporter a news platform of the capital, barged in without permission when the house was quiet and there was only my wife. That's obviously more than just annoying, but it's been entered into a criminal act.”
Ashqar could feel all eyes on him, without exception Nita. He could see from the edge of his eyes how his ex-wife looked surprised. That is certain, even he alone will not believe that a problem that looks trivial can get this serious until it happens to Safira.
“Are you sure that person is a journalist? Maybe you are wrongly accused,” chirps someone in the middle while others are whispering.
Ashqar laughed scornfully and looked at the person who threw the question. “Do you think I'm stupid? Accusing someone without evidence in front of a lot of journalists and cameras who took pictures of my face?”
“This is a serious accusation. Have you made a report to the police and press council?” ask the others.
Ashqar opened his mouth when Robi nudged his leg and leaned in, making him instantly undo the intention.
“What is this Rafa command?” ask Ashqar who Robi is talking about. “What's there again, Sir?”
“Pak Rafa asks you to leave the hall immediately. There are urgent matters that must be dealt with immediately.”
Rafa is used to making mature plans and for certain situations he will make quick decisions taking into account the biggest advantages. After arbitrary instructions against him, suddenly his brother-in-law wanted him to leave just like that from the press conference?
Ashqar paused for a moment and made anlica quickly. Then he cleared his throat and looked straight ahead again. “For that matter, our lawyer will answer.” Ashqar briefly introduces Robi to the media and whispers to Siska, telling her that she is leaving the conference. Ashqar did not even give the woman a chance to reply and said to the press again, “And for questions about Nita that have nothing to do with me please all of you ask directly to the concerned. What I'm saying is more than enough to answer all of your questions, so I'm sorry, I had to leave this show. Next Mr. Robi who will represent me to answer your other questions.”
After that Ashqar stood up and made a gesture of apology to reporters and approached Nita. “Contact me as soon as you're done,” whispers, then followed by shaking hands.
Ashqar ignored the many pairs of eyes that accompanied his steps towards the exit. Until finally he was outside the conference room, a sigh of relief sounded loud. So tense, Ashqar did not even realize the existence of Rafa who had been standing before leaning the bronze on the wall.
