Sense of Sense

Sense of Sense
Third Night

Ashqar looked straight at Sapphira's bead and saw her reflection there. His wife's gaze was so sincere despite the thin layer she guessed were tears held back. Then, feeling guilt and relief, Ashqar pulled Safira into his arms.

“Sorry. Excuse me. I too want this matter to pass quickly, I want Zain to be able to understand our wishes. But seeing her reaction earlier, I got confused myself. I don't know how else to deal with unexpected situations like this.” Ashqar let go of his embrace and kissed old Safira on the forehead. “Thank you for reminding me, Darling,” whispered Ashqar in front of Safira's face.

Safira nodded gently. “Sama-sama. It is my duty to support and remind people at times like this. By the way, I thought about talking to Rahma tomorrow about this. How about it?”

Ashqar was silent for a moment. She tries to digest Safira's advice, but her proud intelligent brain is reluctant to cooperate.

“I thought first, yes.”

“What's up, mas?”

Ashqar. “Nothing. Only now I can't think clearly. Mas want to come out for a minute.”

Safira murmured in response, his gaze following Ashqar's movements moving from the room and disappearing behind the closed door. He actually wanted a definite answer this time as well, but it seemed like Safira had to wait for it. So it is better that he overtakes Zain while Harhsa is still asleep before his little daughter cries out of hunger or poop.

Ashqar gains half of his consciousness when something envelops half of his body. Ashqar reluctantly opened his eyelids, feeling heavy and full of rejection. Faintly he saw a blurry shadow of the visual of a child.

“Alvin?” call him, blink a few times. Then after Ashqar managed to adjust, he slowly sat down and made a blanket down on his lap. “Mas Alvin is awake?”

Alvin, who had been inching backwards since Ashqar called his name, approached and stood in front of his father. “Alvin sprains, pah.”

Ashqar glanced at the clock on the wall, at 03.15 minutes in the morning. Apparently he fell asleep on the sofa and did not return to the room after pondering for a while, even Ashqar did not remember at all what the result of his reflection was.

Ashqar rubbed his face and looked at Alvin with a hard-to-understand deep gaze, then he patted the empty side of the sofa he was on. “Sit here, mas.”

Alvin without saying anything immediately took his place on Ashqar's side.

“Mas Alvin who love papah blanket?” asked Ashqar who answered a subtle nod by Alvin. While rubbing the top of Alvin's head, Ashqar continued, “Makasih, yes. Now Mas Alvin can go back to the room and sleep again.”

“Continuous papah? Not going into the room?”

“Papah will also return to room.”

Alvin nodded, but the boy did not move and made Ashqar confused. Especially when Ashqar asked what made his son refrain from returning to the room and did not get an answer but the silence of Alvin, it made Ashqar more confused. It was as if something else was bothering his son, but it could not be conveyed.

“What's up, Bigshot? Does anyone want Alvin to tell papah?” ashqar Fishing.

Alvin looked at Ashqar Lamat. “Papah is fine?” his question, answered gently by Ashqar. “Keep why did papah sleep outside? Is papah mamah marahan again?”

Silently Ashqar grimaced. Thanks to his debate with Safira a few months ago about the dress model, he was given a cold back. No matter how great a man is, more than 90% will not understand about women's clothing and that includes him.

But Safira was still not happy. Ashqar did not know how to convince. First, Ashqar did not want to be dizzy to choose if in the end the choice is not used or the worst possibility he will be blamed if the clothes are not considered suitable by Sapphira. Second, Ashqar always felt that he was an understanding husband.

She knows that sometimes when women ask their men to choose one of two choices, it means that the woman wants to buy both. Even though it's not always true. So the result is Ashqar rewarded with the back of Sapphira. And how Alvin could ask that question, because after that Ashqar chose to leave the room with a blanket.

Not to join in fighting Sapphira, but because Ashqar wanted to give his wife space and time to calm down from being upset by leaving her to the living room. Unfortunately, Alvin caught him watching television while wearing a blanket and gave the child an assumption that he and Safira were having a fight.

“Papah samah mamah no longer marahan.” Ashqar scrambles Alvin's mane. “So when papah wants to sleep, mamah same Zain has slept pules. Because papah is afraid to disturb them so papah choose to sleep here.”

Alvin was still looking at him and Ashqar had no idea what his son was thinking. However, as Alvin muttered softly while nodding, he somehow felt relieved.

“Alvin want to go back to the room yes, pah?”

“Iya, Son.”

Alvin stands. “Papah also returned to the room, later papah can catch a cold if it continues in the family room,” he said, turning around and walking towards the room.

However, Alvin's steps came to a halt right at the door and fell silent for a moment but the boy turned to Ashqar who was looking at him in confusion.

Alvin again showed the same look that made Ashqar confused. “What's up, mas?”

“Papah equally mamah do not worry. Later Zain also understands that Aunt Nita is his biological mother, but ...”

Ashqar frowned. “But?”

“But it would be difficult for Zain to accept that. Because mama is better than our birth mother.”

After saying that Alvin went straight into the room without looking back. While Ashqar, the man was stuck in place for quite a long time, trying to digest well the words of his son.
