Sometimes Rafa forgets that his life is no longer just his own, there is someone waiting to be informed and a place to share. It had been a long-standing custom that he never shared news with anyone, not with Edi or above with Sapphira. However, now his phone becomes the most opiate object, not just to check the ups and downs of the graph or news of a waiting business agreement.
Unfortunately, often the man becomes impatient, typing a message on an online messaging app is not enough for his heart. So he decided to stop typing words and immediately make a phone call. Hoping that the number he was aiming for was not on another connection or the number owner was too busy just to exchange hello with him.
Until finally the dipper got together, a soft voice greeted Rafa's landmark senses and made the man pull the small two corners of his lips.
“Assalamu’alaikum, Mas Bo.”
“Wa’alaikummussalam. What's more, Jo?”
“Main equals Harsha.”
Rafa glanced at the clock on his wrist then frowned. “Safira where?”
Ranee across the connection did not immediately answer, the sound of laughter flowed softly followed by a funny Harsha babble. “Safira again nemenin Alvin same Zain learn. What's the press conference like, Bo? I haven't seen the TV so don't know if it's been posted yet.”
Rafa sighed as he turned his face to the car window, staring at the sparkling of the capital that was inversely proportional to his mood. Dingy.
Then the man told them briefly what they were going through today, how Nita's management was trying to trap them in a difficult situation. “Luckily Ashqar managed to ngadepin media well, if one human was nervous and wrong to say, kelar udah.”
Ranee chuckles. “Don't tell me you fought in the crucial moments?”
“Nadu continues.” Rafa smiled mockingly. “Where's your job? Everything smoothly?”
“Your pleasantries are, Bo. Ra deserves to blas!”¹ taunts Ranee followed by loud laughter. “Sore we finished chating-an, loh. What would you like to ask for help, honey?”
Rafa who heard his wife's taunts could only laugh resignedly. He was indeed the most awkward to make small talk with others, especially his wife. Somehow Rafa feels awry in acting, saying frankly it feels less fitting, but he is also not good at pleasantries.
“My wife is the best,” she said, and received a shoutout from Ranee. “How are Safira case reports?”
“You forgot? Who takes care of the report ‘kan, father himself.”
“Masa, anyway? Not you?”
Another tease from Ranee's lips. “Last dad ngabarin if you want to take care of the case itself, continue I say the same to you. You think you need a break, Bo.”
“A-ah! Aye, yes. Sorry, I forgot.” Rafa sounded sorry. It seems like Rafa is starting to lose focus after the many things that have to be done in the last few days, from business matters to personal problems that he has to solve immediately. “Yes already, if so you continue playing with Harsha. Later if I go home and play with me,” said Rafa, soften the tone in the last sentence.
At the end of Ranee's connection was heard in a drunken manner and then after that the woman shouted stifledly calling Rafa's full name. “Do not habit. Here is Harsha.”
“Which why? Harhsa won't listen, if she hears, she won't understand. If you don't believe it now just try to love your HP on him, let me repeat―”
“Bo, where are you? You're not home?”At the end of the connection Rafa hears Ranee occasionally making funny noises. “I heard the sound of the horn.”
What a beautiful maneuver. Rafa could imagine the expression behind Ranee's planned calm voice there must be a dead red face. The woman may be very fierce in a uniform, complete with firearms that are often hidden behind the clothes worn. However, only Rafa knows how sweet Ranee is when the uniform is taken off and the tough woman turns into a helpless little fox.
Damnit. His mind went too far. His wife is the best at changing the subject. “I'm again in the car. Want to meet someone,” said Rafa after successfully controlling himself.
Unknowingly Rafa hissed at Ranee's tone of speech, feeling like he was being introgated. “Huge jealousy, anyway. I'd like to meet one of the reporters who attacked Safira yesterday.”
“You ... what do you want, Bo?” asked Ranee, sounding full of anticipation.
“Not want anything. Just want to see him, want to know what his real purpose is.”
“But that's the job of the police, you don't have to bother like gini. The report section has entered and is in process, I believe tomorrow or the day after we have already got the latest development.”
“This is why, anyway?” Rafa involuntarily raised his tone. “I just want to meet him personally, not kill him. Please stop being suspicious like that.”
The cold tone that Rafa spoke instantly made Ranee speechless. Both of them were involved in silence for a while until Rafa finally realized his mistake. However, he had not been able to convey regrets, Ranee had already spoken first.
“I'm not suspicious, but I'm worried. I know how you deal with people like that and I don't want you to make mistakes, Fa.”
Rafa tightened the jaw catapult while taking a deep breath. Ranee calmly spoke and called his name. The name is short, only two letters and it makes him very unhappy. Unfortunately, Rafa can not do much or they will be caught in a fight, while they are separated and finally he himself will feel frustrated because of Ranee. His wife had the same habit as Sapphira in seeking revenge.
“I know, Honey. I'm sorry for talking too much to you.”
“Good if you know,” said Ranee without hiding the annoyance. “Continue about Royal Entertainment. Have you contacted Mr Handoko again?”
“Newly, Jo. Fikri, stop by McD, take the service drive thru and kayak pesen usually,” Rafa said to two people at once. “I'm asking Mr. Handoko to fire Siska and Bram.”
“That's free? You don't do anything else, ‘kan?” asked Ranee doubtfully.
Rafa broke up then after his laughter subsided, the man said, “That's it, Jo. I can promise kindness to them because they have been trusted by Mr. Handoko, but now the company is mine and I don't want them anymore.”
“Set the person you want to meet, how? Want you anything if you already know the ales?”
“We will see later if it is,” said Rafa lightly. “But for sure, I cannot promise the same kindness to those who dared to hurt Sapphira. Minimal languish in jail for a long time and can not get out despite using bail, it's best."
At the end of the joint Ranee exhaled a rough breath several times. “I want to nag, but it's a waste of energy. Whatever your decision is, Bo. You must be careful and considerate, Safira also must know about this except about Royal Management of course. Anyway she's kor—”
“Mbak Vera!”
