“No can!” rafa on Safira. “You must stay at home.”
Safira. “No! I also want to go to Jakarta.”
“No need to macem-macem, Fi.” Rafa's tone of voice was full of warning. “You are pregnant again and sister does not want your presence just make this plan hampered.”
“I mean Brother, I'm just a burden? Will ngerepotin if you follow?”
“Indeed. Good if you are aware.”
“Sekedar remind. I lived for years without bothering others,” Safira said casually. “So there is no reason Brother refused my request.”
Rafa clucked very hard. “That problem and this is very different,” said Rafa by pressing the last word. “You don't need ngeyel¹ can not?”
Safira threw a hostile look at Rafa. He harbored an overwhelming annoyance at his older brother even from before he entered into Edi's study.
Safira initially follows Ashqar to Edi's study as soon as they arrive home. The only thing he thought at that time was the state of his children especially Zain who had been exposed to the media. So when Ashqar came into the room, Sapphira chose to calm herself down first outside.
The door that was not closed, maybe Ashqar deliberately did it, making Safira still able to hear the conversation between her husband, Rafa and Edi. He was just about to enter when Rafa asked Ashqar if the man had said that they were going to meet Nita. As Sapphira's emotions overflowed, she stepped in saying that Ashqar had said everything.
Realizing the tense situation between the sisters before him, Ashqar immediately interceded. He killed the meager distance between himself and Sapphira, reaching out to embrace the beloved's shoulder while the other hand he used to clasp Safira tightly.
“Sayang—”
Unfortunately, Ashqar became a victim of Safira's annoyance.
“What?” sulk Sapphira. “Mas also want to defend Kak Rafa, ‘kan? Want to persuade me not to come with you?”
Ashqar developed a smile. He moved his hand from Sapphira's palm to his wife's cheek. “Iya, but ...,” he said, deliberately giving a pause. “all for your good, dear. I understand that you want to know directly the explanation from Nita, but the situation is not possible. I don't want you to be exposed and become public consumption if there are journalists to know we will mediate.”
“But, Zain ...”
“That's exactly it,” said Rafa. “Because Zain has been exposed so we have to be careful and quickly solve this problem. So please don't be stubborn yes, my dear sister.”
However, it is not Safira if he has no other plan to just make Rafa caught off guard with his behavior. Before their relationship as it is now, Sapphira often deliberately provoked the annoyance of Edi and Rafa as a form of protest over unilateral decisions that both made.
So Sapphira deliberately continued to stick to Ashqar, following every movement of her husband like a bear tail, either when Ashqar prepares clothes or to the bathroom. Safira also forced to take Rafa and Ashqar to the airport despite the ban.
And once Rafa and Ashqar's plane take-off was 10:15, Safira asked the driver to drive her to Zain's school immediately. His middle son must have frowned because he was late to pick up, not to mention Safira felt Zain had been angry with him since morning. It would definitely be difficult for him to persuade Zain.
The school was almost deserted when Sapphira got there, only traders were left outside the fence and two guardians who picked up their children. Realizing that he was also one of the two guardian disciples before his eyes, Safira rushed down from the car.
“Bu Safira!”
A cry restrained Sapphira towards the gates of Zain's school. He turned around and saw one of the disciples' parents from his son's friend walking over.
“What's up, Miss Eva?”
“Bu, this morning I saw the news on TV. What is it, Mom?”
