Ashqar and Rafa simultaneously throw each other eye glances and Rafa first nudges Ashqar's arm using his elbow. However, unfortunately Ashqar chose to pretend not to know until inevitably Rafa who faced alone.
“I'm married,” he said briefly while raising his right hand, showing a ring that is circular on his ring finger.
The woman in front of them blinked, looked confused, then looked back. His friends simultaneously shook their heads and coded, pointing at Ashqar.
“Oh ... not brother,” he said, then looked at Ashqar. “But sister. Can I have a contact?”
Ashqar glanced at Rafa while holding back a laugh. He was sure that his brother-in-law must have been embarrassed and upset by the rejection he had just received, and that expression became another consolation for Ashqar.
Ashqar cleared his throat, looking at the woman in front of him. “Sorry, but can't.”
“Then Instagram?” the woman asked and was answered with a headband by Ashqar. “Ndon't have it? Twitter, deh.” However, Ashqar shook his head again with a faint smile. “Ndon't have it too? Facebook must have, dong?”
“I have it all, instagram, twitter or facebook. Which I do not have my wife's permission, so sorry,” explained Ashqar gently and then turned around while dragging Rafa with him.
It has been quite a while since the last time a woman approached him, because all this time he almost never went alone without the company of a child or wife. Although there were, long before Safira, Ashqar would never casually serve such things. He would just give his cold back and pass it by without a word.
“I want to be your wife.”
“Hah?” ashqar and Rafa said at the same time.
Those who were just two steps away simultaneously turned around.
“Who wants to be whose wife, yes?” ask Ashqar coldly.
The woman had a shy expression. “I became sister's wife,” great-grandson, stepped forward while tucking a strand of hair behind the ear.
While Ashqar who saw it can only be astonished. The power of thought of young fashionable woman in front of him was not as fashionable as her appearance, or maybe her self-confidence that exceeded others.
“Mbak, my brother is no longer seducing you so you don't be too confident,” said Rafa after hearing Ashqar. “She is married, her son is three, otw four instead. And he's not interested in having a wife anymore, let alone one whose brain is as dull as yours. Destructive descent aja.”
After saying that Rafa immediately left, leaving the woman shocked and Ashqar confused as to how to respond. So after apologizing, for nothing, Ashqar rushed after Rafa.
And once Ashqar can match Rafa's steps, he says, “Omonganmu sadistic men.”¹ Ashqar embraces Rafa's shoulders. “Ora to nesu, fill mbi liyane.”²
“Whispering,” hiss Rafa.
Ashqar again gave a smile as they turned and walked into one of the children's toy stores. He chooses not to continue flirting with Rafa or they will be involved in a public shootout.
Large teddy bears and pandas greeted them at the entrance, behind which were rows of robots on the upper shelves and character dolls on the lower shelves. It is an ingenious idea of the marketing part of the store to attract customers especially children.
Once inside the store, Ashqar headed straight for a row of toys for boys, looking for toys that became his eldest son's request. This is also arguably the first time Alvin asks to buy a toy, usually the child will say whatever whenever Ashqar asks what he wants or what toy he wants to have. However, this time Alvin excited to buy Lego edition of Lego City, a toy that is usually a favorite of Zain.
“Sorry, Sir. Can I help you?”
A voice came from behind Ashqar and Rafa.
Ashqar turned his head first and found a skinny male shop employee standing nearby, a red basket in his hand.
“Ngak, Mas.” Ashqar subtly rejected the presence of the store employee. Fortunately the employee is quite sensitive and leaves the place, not the type of store clerk who follows customers to make customers feel uncomfortable.
Ashqar sizzling. “Ranee who said?”
“From Safira.” Rafa immediately twisted the accusations, although it was actually unnecessary.
“I refuse.”
“Terus?”
“Ngot keep going.” Ashqar shifts on the next shelf that displays a special edition Lego. “We finally chat via phone, discuss conference issues and Safira assault cases. He apologized about the conference yesterday.”
Rafa's forehead wrinkled, feeling something was lacking. “That's it?”
“What do you hope for?” gerutu Ashqar's. He took a deep breath and looked at the box in his hand. “Many problems happened, many things to be straightened out. Even if we wanted to confirm something, it felt like it might go awry. So it is possible for now it is better to communicate as necessary so as not to cause other problems.”
Hearing Ashqar's words made Rafa immediately speechless and swallowed back the questions he wanted to ask. If Sapphira and Ashqar have already made a decision then as brothers he should respect that.
“Not that Zain does not like the same city edition?” rafa asked as he looked at the cardboard that Ashqar was holding.
“This is for Alvin. He asked to buy Lego City.”
“Alvin?” bean Rafa, wonder. “Normally he rarely asks for toys, if you ask for something also usually books.”
“I don't know either. But no problem, anyway. Precisely I was happy if he did not hesitate to ask to be bought something without having to be persuaded, you must understand.”
Rafa nodded. He was well aware of the character of Ashqar and Safira's first child. Alvin was so self-aware that he made the people around him want to pull the boy out of hiding, including himself.
Once upon a time when Rafa took Alvin and Zain away on the weekend just to fill the time off watching a movie in the cinema and closed by taking the two to the toy store, but only Zain enthusiastically chooses various types of toys while Alvin walks quietly behind his sister. And when Rafa questions that, Alvin just says that he doesn't want any toys. Rafa buys Alvin more often than not, rather than waiting for the boy to choose.
“Truly unusual boy,” Inner Rafa.
Then as Ashqar picks up two Lego boxes and walks towards the cashier, Rafa is astonished. “Udah?”
“Udah,” replied Ashqar, lifting two medium-sized boxes in his hand.
Rafa clucked to see that and went back on the previous shelves, picking up two more boxes with different series for his two nephews.
