9. The News Spreading

That morning, the time had already shown at half-eight in the morning just as Alvin arrived at his campus. He turned his motorcycle into the campus parking area.

After parking his bike, Alvin took off his helmet and quickly got off and off his bike and then rushed to his college room.

During the journey towards the lecture hall, there were several girls who were secretly glancing at him. Nothing special about Alvin. He still looks ordinary even impressed indifferent and unconcerned with the intention of the gaze even keep walking like nothing happened.

"The vin! Alvin, wait a minute." exclaimed a young man while running small in the campus corridor, chasing after Alvin.

Alvin turned around and found Dave, his classmate who was also his best friend was now looking concerned at him.

"What's wrong?" asked Alvin raised his eyebrows, he was surprised to see the look on the face of his best friend.

"Wait a minute!" said Dave bent down while holding both knees, trying to regulate his breath that runs out because of running, then he returned to talk.

"Have you heard the rumors?" dave asked seemed curious.

"What rumors?"

"Rumors about you!"

"But me?"

Dave nodded in agreement. "Yes, did you hear that?"

"No. I don't care either." said Alvin indifferently.

Alvin had been used to hearing rumors about himself. Starting from his cheating, he was liked by the lecturers, teasing the top students and other ridiculous rumors.

"Wait Alvin!" hold Dave who sees Alvin about to step back. "It's different. This is the biggest rumor I've ever heard."

"About?" Alvin's getting curious now.

"I've just heard rumors circulating among other students that you've broken up with Karina. That's not true, is it?" dave asked with a wondering expression on his face.

Hearing that question Alvin's face immediately turned sad. Without answering the question, Alvin continued his steps. While Dave who was waiting for an answer seemed to stare at Alvin's sad face while following the young man's steps. He walked next to his best friend.

"So what is the news true?" ask Dave again.

Alvin again flicked his footsteps and turned around, turning to Dave. "How do you know?"

"I told you. Everyone was talking about the rumors this morning. The canteen. In library. In parking. Ah, the news is really widespread, Alvin." said Dave explaining the situation.

Dave then went on. "Have you forgotten that so many people have been watching your relationship. You and Karina, you're both popular. Especially Karina, she is very popular in this campus. He is a college star. So the news about you guys will definitely spread quickly."

"You're right. Karina popular. So it's not surprising news if everyone is talking about it." replied Alvin lightly as he nodded his head slowly and then resumed his steps.

"So you guys really broke up?" Dave tried to make sure.

Alvin took a deep breath and exhaled slowly while shaking his shoulder.

"That's how!" answer Alvin.

"Hey, what kind of answer is that?"

"When did you break up?"

"A few days ago."

"Well, this is crazy." Dave couldn't believe it.

"Why did you break up?" dave asked still staring at Alvin curiously.

"We just can't be together anymore."

Dave looked at Alvin suspiciously. He seemed dissatisfied with that answer. Dave approached Alvin and placed one of his hands on his best friend's shoulder.

"Are you the one who asked to break up with him?" whisper Dave.

Alvin shook his head. "It wasn't me, but Karina herself asked to separate."

"Karina asked to break up?" Dave sontak. He was shocked to death. This is great news for him, of course. "But wasn't it Karina who was busy chasing you. He even became the one who first expressed his feelings for you. Then why is he asking to separate now?"

"Come" replied Alvin, shaking his shoulder, then throwing his face away, trying to cut himself off. "Maybe he's tired of me."

Unknowingly, Alvin shook his head slowly. He doesn't know how to explain to Dave about this.

Karina cheating. That's the biggest reason why they broke up. Karina, that girl prefers another man who is on par with her. Karina is richer than Alvin. So how can you if you have to date Alvin who is just an ordinary person.

Alvin himself did not want to tell Dave that his ex had cheated on him. He certainly did not want to ruin the girl's good name.

Alvin felt, however he and Karina had loved each other. Alvin just didn't want the girl to get bad reviews from people because of what Alvin said.

"Bored you? She said that?"

Alvin just shut up. What does he have to say?

"That's right." Dave muttered then grieved in annoyance. "In that case, doesn't that mean it's obvious that he's already shown you, Alvin!"

Alvin could only smile. His heart felt sliced at Dave's words. Her best friend was indeed right, Karina indeed appeared to her.

"I don't have a problem with that. Being bored is his right." explained Alvin.

"Where can that be, you're-"

"That's Dave! I think from now on it will be better if we don't talk about Karina again." said Alvin lazy.

"I and he are separated, too. We've broken up. That means we have nothing to do from now on." continued Alvin in a soft voice and then back to leave Dave's legs to his college room.

"Alright, I was talking about it just because I was curious about the rumors that were circulating. You know that I wouldn't believe any rumors about you unless I heard them from you" Dave explained, shaking his shoulder and then stepping back to follow Alvin, who had now walked some distance from him.

Yes, honestly at this time whatever is the reason for the breakup of Alvin and Karina has indeed made Dave and curious. He was really curious about how the relationship of the two most popular people on his campus could run aground.

Alvin and Karina themselves are known to have been dating since they were first-year students at the college. At that time they were still new students and Karina was the one who expressed her feelings first to Alvin. As you know, the girl was already crazy about Alvin even from the first day they entered this campus. Everybody knows that.

Karina is known as the most popular girl on campus because of her beauty. While Alvin, he is a young man who is known to be very handsome and also smart in his field.
